Wallpaper opinions

Postby MyrrhLynn » Mon Oct 20, 2003 9:16 am

Ok I think this is the right section for this.... Anyway I need opinions. I just made this wallpaper and I am trying to decide if I need to and some more text. But I just hate adding text cause most of the time I just mess it up. :( So what do you all think? Is it ok as it is? Needs a title? It stinks overall? I want to hear what you all think!

I'd leave it just like that...it's beautissimo. No text, no title...just like that.

Yeah, I think it's cool the way it is. If you find that it's too dark (stuff doesn't show up, etc) you may want to consider lightening it, however.

Well I am a "Photoshop snob" as I like to say! So that is what I used. The background I made using a combination of filters, the oriental writing is a special brush set I downloaded, and the main image is a picture I got somewhere and then changed the color of.

Hey, I like that a lot! The Japanese characters add a nice, but not cluttered effect. I really can't think of anything I'd change ... good work!

Well since you all did such a good job giving me your opinons here is another one. I'm trying to decide if I should put "Inuyasha" or something to that effect, in the bottom left by the honeycomb shapes. What do you all think??

I think you ought to put text, but it should be over by Inuyasha. Reason for this is, if you put it on the left, most people keep their icons on the left and it would get covered....-_-

As long as the picture you send me is big and of high quality I could probably make you a wallpaper. Just e-mail it to me (batgirlwi@yahoo.com) with a little description of what you want. Although I will warn you I am usually not that good. I made both of these (and one other one) in like 2 hours, because I happend to be on a sucessful Photoshop kick. I was just experimenting with new filters and brushes and they happened to turn out good.

First of all, very nice Kenshin wallpaper. It is perfect as it is, and I can't see anything that you need to change about it. Add too much stuff and the effect will be cluttered. I think the only complaint I have is that it isn't in 1024x768 so I could put it up on my background right now! :thumb:

Your Inu Yasha one is nice, but I don't think the actual photo + animated pic came across too well. You should try increasing IY's opacity or decrasing the forest's opacity, or both. The sparkles don't look right behind his face. Of course, this is my opinion. It might grow on me, I just wish I had it in 1024x768 so I could see how it looks when you actually use it.

I personally use Paint Shop Pro, but I wish I had the access to the array of filters in Photoshop. I have to scour the internet for free downloads and spend hours messing with them to see if they are any good.

I know I'm still "new", but if you are intersted, maybe we could make a wallpaper request thread or a wallpaper critique thread. I'd sure like imput on my walls, especially since the animewallpaper.com board went down AGAIN... *sigh*. But I won't post my walls here, this is your thread. ;)

Ah... scratch that comment about the IY one from above. I stretched the wall to my desktop, and it looks VERY cool. Now the only thing I'd say for you to do is to remove that little box at the top, and you're good to go!

I love your wallpapers. Can I use them? I'd like to save them both. You are sooooo talented. :thumb:

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.
