I hate having my back facing an open door. I feel vunerable.

Insects. Only when I don't know where they are. I'll hold a harmless spider, but once I drop it, "ARGH! Where'd it go!" Potato Bugs. Period.

I can't sleep with my closet open.

Living in the city, I'm afriad to go out on my covered screend back porch when it becomes dark.

My basement without the light. Nuff said.

At night, you know everything is quiet. In the basement the boiler comes on at a set temperature. You can hear the water in the radiators. "Glup, Glup." Very unerving. The first time I heard it, I turned the theremostat off. "What? Is it going to explode?"

Well... it that's true, you're surrounded. :)

Personally, I think most of the imbalance comes from older men dying sooner than older women (statistically). ^-^
And why do you think they die sooner...women kill them! :o Clearly, we have a reason to be afraid (and that "someone on another thread" was me, btw :P ).

I have cynophobia (fear of dogs), so I get really uncomfortable around dogs. It has improved over time, but I still dislike dogs (cats are fine though :thumb: ).

I'm not afraid of bugs/spiders (unless they are of unusual size), but I do kill them on sight; especially if I find them in my house.

I don't have a problem with women. They don't seem to like me much though... :(

:wow!: Something similar happened to me. xD I hate insects, but I had to kill some for a science project. I had my brother fill a jar with nail polish remover and put a potato bug inside. (some book said it's the best way to kill bugs for a science project. >.>) I covered the jar and left with my family to go out for a few hours.

I came back, at least 5 or 6 hours later, got the bug out of the nail polish remover, and put it down on a piece of cardboard so I could pin it down. But before I got the pins, the bug. Started. moving. again. It was still ALIVE after hours submerged in nail polish remover. T_T Words cannot describe the sheer deafening volume of my screams.

Being barefoot when I'm scared. It's like, "FOR THE LOVE OF YASUHIRO NIGHTOW, SOMEBODY GET ME SOME SOCKS!!" I don't know why it makes me so nervous. Makes no sense.
Inanimate objects that look human, especially dolls, marionettes, and very realistic paintings. I hate the creepy feeling that they're watching you...

Cats! Yay! (I fear no animals that I know of. But that's because I'm an animal nut.)

I'm not afraid of bugs/spiders (unless they are of unusual size), but I do kill them on sight]

Spiders = scary. Milipedes = jibbering with fear

Spiders dropping on your head... let's not even go there.

I actually don't kill any insects unless I have to, because I think it's creepy. I fish small insects out of water when they get stuck.
Killing a spider, or an evil, evil thousand-legger is an ordeal for me.

Lol...you're the same as me! I'm really scared of dogs. However, the thing with me is that...I admire dogs...but I'm scared of them :eh:.It's really weird...

Metal Grates for floors, Fog, wheelchairs, and women without eyebrows all scare me... Of course, the last one is probably a valid fear unless they're undergoing chemo or something...

Oh, and big dogs scare me, but they SHOULD scare me, I've gotten chased by enough of them... And watched one take a massive chunk out of my dog's leg and would have killed him (my dog) if my dad hadn't dragged thing (the other dog) off him (my dog) I was chased across railroad tracks and about a quarter mile down the street by a stray dog, snarling and snapping the whole time... Again, across the street and a bit shorter distance by a mangey (I think literally, at the very least really dirty) dog... Luckily, both times, someone picked me up in their cars. The first time was someone who saw me running, and decided to help me out. The second time was by somone I knew who just happened to be driving by at the time... The thing is, a lot of Dogs just don't like me... This one dog described as being nice forced me to stay put and got all frantic if I tried to move... As long as my feet stayed put, it even let me pet it, but if I moved my feet it looked like it was going to bite my leg off. That one may not have been going to hurt me, but it sure didn't like me...

How compassionate... I also feel sorry for bugs trying to tread water. The thing is that you can rescue one of the critters and the next minute it'll charge headlong into the water again. Not the brightest bulbs in the basket (but then again, what can you expect from a .4 millimeter brain...)

Dogs- when I was little, my puppy got ran over by an FTD van and dogs have scared me ever since (even though dogs are my favorite animal)

Old people- I don't like to think of getting older and dying

Bodies of water smaller than lakes- I had a bad dream about water one time. That's all I'm going to say about that.

Wal-Mart when there's not many people there- It's just creepy

Hospitals- I was in the hospital for about three weeks when I was 11 and it was scary at night with all those machines beeping.

Dark- I don't think I need to explain this one.

Just as a guess, might that by any chance have to do with ice on roads and driving? If it does, that is a very rational thing to fear.
