Co-worker's sister dying

Postby Rogie » Thu May 26, 2005 8:15 pm

The sister of a co-worker is pretty close to dying, as they are now putting her on a feeding tube. I'm not sure what's wrong, but she's had severe health complications since birth. Her veins have now collapsed and she has bilateral pneumonia (I think that's right). Her condition is very bad, so please pray for her and for her family.

Another co-worker has a relative who recently had twins but later had a heart attack and she is in severe condition. So please pray for her, for the twins, and for their family.

Otherwise, amidst these negative requests, I have a positive praise for the good Lord, Who has really blessed me with a wonderful job this summer before I go off to grad school. I'm working in college relations at the college I just graduated from, and I really enjoy the work and the people, including my very kind boss. Everyone respects me as a Christian, too, and they watch their behavior closely out of respect for me. It's a real blessing, as something like this rarely happens nowadays.

Oh, and I do have one other request, for myself. I'm going apartment-hunting this weekend, so please pray that things go well and I find a nice, safe, quiet place away from the "bad" parts of the city I'll be living in.

Thanks for your prayers, everyone. I really appreciate it, and I love you all! :thumb:

I will definitely be praying for all of this, Rogie. ^__^

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

An update on these requests. The sister who was thought to be dying is now doing much better, at least when considering her condition. Please continue to pray for her and the family.

The new mother (who is not related to the other co-worker; she is his pastor's wife) is doing much better, and the babies are doing well, too. Prayers for continued recovery and good health would be appreciated.

Finally, my little personal request: My apartment hunt went very well, and I found an apartment near the edge of the city in a safe yet active and fun area. The complex is actually on a hill right behind a huge mall (yeehaw!). Anyway, God really blessed me with this place, and I'm excited about it. However, prayers would be appreciated for the upcoming move and transition to life on my own (see the request I attached to the recent request about my sister's health for more details -- sorry to play "thread-jumping" on y'all here  ).

Thanks for your prayers, everyone. :thumb:

Dude, good to hear the Lord is blessing in all of these things. It's so cool to hear about the Lord's faithfulness through times of healing and sickness. It's good that you found a nice apartment too! You're an awesome man Rogie. I hope the Lord blesses you in your new home.
