Sorry, I made you 'mad'. It appears you are a Zelda fan....-yeah, i`m that smart-.

None of my firends were expecting him to be 16, but then again, like me, they just sit around and wait for the game to come out and don`t go on all the fan websites searching for every bit of information they can find and finding a false releasedate. Actually, I do do that for Grandia and FF games but thats it really.

And you must think i`m huge idiot to not know the green suit is his 'trademark'.
i`ve played few Zelda games ( The original, Ocarina of Time (fave), Windwaker, Oracle of Ages, and The Minish Cap), but i`m smart enough to know about the green suit being his trademark.

And I didn`t notice the chainmailvsorry but he still looks like a little kid and nothing like an "Adult".

and the fact that you said "Teen Rated" intrigues me... is the fact that its rated T make you go "zomg its teen its for little babies so ima not play it!!!" or something?

Okay, Mr. Dincht, you've ofificially begun to make me mad.
First, the adult Link everyone wanted to see was around 16 in the first place, and the green attire is his trademark. (Look closely. He wears chainmail under it in this game!)
Second, you have no evidence it won't be rated Teen. So far, it looks pretty dark, and could very well be rated Teen.
Finally, Zelda was never meant to be a war/dungeon crawler. It was meant to be an epic adventure game with clever dungeons and lots of battles.
Good day to you, sir.

First. It is going to be Rated T. It will not be rated E.

ROFL!!! He looks like a kid cause he is a kid! True Mr SP. But the even more interesting fact is that all previous Zelda games were rated E... are you gonna say that OoT is for babies!??!?!? :?:

Third: What looks "Adult" is a very subjective matter. I know many people who look either old or young for their age. Also... Oni Link in MM, was VERY OLD but didnt have mucho wrinkles as much older people do.

(Does this mean that link is UNable to get wrinkles? )

Nintendo may in the future make a massively muscled 30-year-old link... i too thought link was going to be older in this one ( but i thought he would be 21ish) This gradual progression is understandable though. Once LInk is 30 the game will no doubt be rated M. But, i don't think that being "rated M" is why people have loved the series so far.

This Link, though only still a teen, still is vastly more mature than all other links. (think about what kid link did in all other Zelda games! He Pwned the enemies and saved the world before bedtime!!!

This Game is going to be awsome, though mebbe not as muscled as you thought... it still will be the best Zelda of all, in my opinion, with OoT coming in close second. (OoT has been my fav so far until the appearance of TP)

Doesn't sound like it's the same Link, no.

And as I stated on a previous thread, it only causes problems storyline-wise if you try to put all the Zelda games in one single universe. To have all the Zelda games fit happily, you have to have at least four separate universes. So looks like this one is going to fit into the OoT/MM/WW universe.

Hmm...this DOES cause continuity errors, though...

Maybe.

As I stated before, if there were another Zelda game between OoT and WW, why is the Hero of Time referred to so much in WW? Maybe this Link is saving a land OTHER than Hyrule, I dunno.

Second, is Ganondorf going to be the final boss? If he is, then that's a continuity error. Ganon mentions being sealed by the Master Sword and the Hero of Time in WW.

And the Triforce, the wish to destroy Hyrule...ugh, it makes my head hurt.

I think I'll wait and play TP before I make any storyline judgements though.

Tom man you need to lose some of the pessimism man it really turns people off. I don't care how old this Link is all I know is it's a Zelda game and it will awesome. Nintedo's the only people out there gurantee 9 times out of 10 you know will make a fun game. I'm not worried about timeline really Zelda never really had a very well defined timeline in the first place.

Okkkk... yea. I def need to step in here. There are DIFFERENT LINKs. There are different sets of links throughout time. Yes, there are many Timeline Theories but i won't go into all of them here... it would take too long. I have my own take on it, but, i won't talk about that either cause it's too controversial.

In WW, the Link they were referring to could most definately be this Link (who by the way is different from all other Links: he is NOT the OoT/MM Link, despite popular belief) because in the beginning of WINDWAKER it states the following:

This is but one of the legends of which the people speak... Long ago, there existed a kingdom where a golden power lay hidden. It was a prosperous land blessed with green forests, tall mountains, and peace. But one day, a man of great evil found the golden power and took it for himself. With its strength at his command, he spread darkness across the kingdom. But then, when all hope had died, and the hour of doom seemed at hand... a young boy clothed in green appeared as if from nowhere. Wielding the blade of evil's bane, he sealed the dark one away and gave the land light. This
boy, who traveled through time to save the land, was known as the Hero of Time. The boy's tale was passed down through generations until it became legend... But then... a day came when a fell wind began to blow across the kingdom. The great evil that all thought had been forever sealed by the hero... once again crept forth from the depths of the earth eager to resume its dark designs. The people believed that the Hero of Time would again come to save them... But the hero did not appear. Faced by an onslaught of evil, the people could do nothing but appeal to the gods. In their last hours, as doom drew nigh, they left their future in the hands of fate. What became of that kingdom? None remained who knew. The memory of the kingdom vanished, but its legend survived on the wind?s breath. On a certain island, it became customary to garb boys in green when they came of age. Clothed in the green of fields, they aspired to find heroic blades and cast down evil. The elders wished only for the youths to know courage like the hero of legend...

Notice how it says the "hero did not appear." Link then was either one of 4 things:

1) Hiding (which i seriously doubt)
2) In another Land (Twilight Realm??? But that really wouldn't fit with the storyline of the new game... but maybe the ending... ? Hmmn...)
3) Dead (He was killed and a new link wasn't born yet)
4) A child and too young to know what to do.

But the power to travel through time makes it very likely that they are referring to OoT Link... Which is the whole TIME SPLIT theorie with Old and Young link Timelines... which i won't go into either...

IN CONCLUSION!
This Link could also be TP Link... cause of the fact that he's not there (reason 2) but i think more likely its a ref to OoT Link.

P.S. That quote about why Link isn't there is GREAT fodder for Zelda Fan fics!

First of all i never said that if its not rated T it`s for babies. Stop assuming things and then dissin me because I said it.

Reply to me by writing:

I never said I won`t like this game. I said i was disapointed and expected better.

Also have you noticed almost every game is T now? I mean, ratchet and clank is T and i can think of numerous E-rated RPGs that are more inapropriate than that.

I know what you mean. Somtimes we all set our hopes a little too high, whether it be on an upcoming video game, a special event, a certain milestone in life. Sometimes we are pleasantly surprised, however.

But its all good Tom, we still love you :thumb:

i never said: " I expected it to be T-rated because E-rated is stupid."
I just said I expected it to be T-rated. And WOW! It is s we`ll drop that statement but I`ll add a little and wrote that. But WOW! It is T, so we can stop talking about it but i`ll add a little in this post. I never said the rating was going to affect my enjoyment of this game. I love Grandia (which should be T, eh I need a point). well, i love the Spyro games. They my favorite and the games that introduced me to 3d gameplay and I still love them now (2 being the best). 4 was the downfall of the series. Heh, I think I should make a thread for this. TO THE POINT!

I just said all my friends as well as me assumed that it was going to have a Lord Of The Rings twist because additional battles with lke horses and defending a castle while you fight multible oponents and other backup soldiers helping you would`ve ruled. And all the pictures we (meaning me and my Zelda-loving friend) saw of Link made him looked way older. And if "Adult" is 16 then I guess I have a year and a half until my childhood ends....wow.

Listen, I`m no expert and Zelda. Heck, i don`t know diddly-squat about Zelda besides its a highly enjoyable Dungeon Crawling classic that has found a place in our hearts. I personally believe this game will rock, but I expected better.

Yeah, but that would be a HUGE departure from the typical Zelda format. Most games don't stray from their original format. Mario is one of the exceptions, since he is a mascot, being in everything from sports titles to RPGs, but for the most part Zelda games have always been action RPGs with lots of puzzles and dungeon crawling, not epic war titles like Romance of the Three Kingdoms or Warcraft.

Remember, Zelda II WAS very different from the other Zelda titles, and a lot of Zelda fans hate it, because it doesn't feel like Zelda to them. I think Nintendo learned from that mistake and isn't going to depart from the typical Zelda formula again. So RTS elements like epic war battles aren't going to be part of any Zelda games, I would be almost sure of it.

And all the pictures we (meaning me and my Zelda-loving friend) saw of Link made him looked way older. And if "Adult" is 16 then I guess I have a year and a half until my childhood ends....wow.

I've seen 15 year olds that could pass for mid-twenties. I've seen thirty year olds that could pass for a teenager. Looks have nothing to do with age, my friend.

I personally believe this game will rock, but I expected better.

Hmm...perhaps you should PLAY it before you bash it? It may exceed your expectations. ;)

Okkkk... yea. I def need to step in here. There are DIFFERENT LINKs.

This is something I don't think they should have done. It would be fine if each Link existed many, many years apart from the others(like Wind Waker), but TP Link exists only a few decades from OoT Link. It seems that if you want your kid to save Hyrule, all you gotta do is name him Link.

The alternate dimension thing sounds like it would have been a better way to go. Especially in the case of Wind Waker. Now, I loved WW, but I didn't like the path the story took.
Having Hyrule destroyed forever pretty much made the adventures of past Links worthless. I mean, c'mon, Hyrule was an essential part of the Zelda mythos. I also didn't like how the past Link just dissapeared.
But who knows, maybe we're missing something and this is the same Link from OoT and MM?

I'm not sure if this had been brought up, but I just recieved my NP issue today and discovered something a bit shocking:

Link does not turn into a werewolf, but simply, a wolf! O.O
A wolf that the imp Midna rides around on with wierd hat that has this claw thing coming out of it.

Strange, yet cool.

BTW, from what I understand, there's no need to get in-depth about how it conincides with the other games. Nearly every Zelda game is based in a complete different universe, so it's always a new kind of story.

I'm gonna cry. I repented from video games and said I'd never take the time to play another RPG again. But I love Legend of Zelda games, and I epspecially like emo heroic werewolves!
But remember, at the end of the game, Hyrule is destroyed forever when the King uses the Triforce to flood Hyrule. He tells Link and Zelda that Hyrules time has passed and they must find a new land. And as for the statue of OoT Link, it doesn't mean he returned. The whole reason Hyrule had a spell cast on it was because he didn't show up. He just sorta fell off the face of the earth.
And you guys are so overreacting. MM was an awsome game. And people LIKED turning into a goron/zora/deku.

I think it will be fun, but i am relieved that you wont be a wolf the entire time as some people feered.

Volt,
Please realize that most people on this thread appear to like how it is going. You're judging way to quickly on this, when the wolf idea could turn out to be quite incredible. If you don't like it, then just say "I don't like," but please stop trying to act like you know everything and tell us it's going to ruin the franchise. THey said the same thing about "WindWaker," and it did incredibly well.

So, you want an explanation for the wolf concept? Basically, it's like turning into a rabbit when you enetered the dark world in "A Link to the Past." There are two worlds, the light and the dark, and entering the dark makes you become a wolf.

Now, if you have anymore "nice" comments or opinions to add, please do, but just stop with the flaming. So please, wait till you actually play the game to give comments like that.

Yay! Myoti you are RIiiight on with your analogy to LttP. buttt... i think you could have been a little nicer on Volt... but. You are essentially right.. >.>

<.< :: DOESNT LIKE CONFRONTATIONS :: T_T! Cant we all just get along!

And yes peoples. If you are like. "OMGOSH THIS GAME IS GONNA SUCK" dont BASH it until you have PLAYED it.

Thank you.

Sorry, but that's about as nice as I could get about that. It just really ticks me off when people do things like that.

this game is going to be sweet. i've been reading about it in any magazine i can find and from what i've seen and read its gonna be one of the best games of the year. i'm not sure who the tall mysterious guy w/ the black hood on is but i'm guessing ganon might be coming back. another thing is that this game takes place after the windwaker, not a sequel to it. Where did u guys find the title to this game? cuz i heard there really isnt going to be one. qnother cool thing is that u can actually attack while on epona and also steal other creatures' rides.
and apparently as i've been reading, hyrule is far far away from the land you are in, this area actually sends cows to hyrule.
one disappointment is that tingle will be taken out and replaced w/ someone else, so much for a 30 yr old fairy......

Yes it is gonna be one of the best games of the year, and the best Zelda out of all of them so far (it has already moved OoT to 2nd place for me! But i love OoT!). The "mysterious guy w/ the black hood" is Zelda. sanosuke_495 It's really a good idea to read the past posts of threads that way you can glean info and learn what has already been posted. :) The prescence of Ganon has not yet been confirmed but my sources tell me it will be a completely different foe ( just as Vaati was a new Villan). We found the title to this game from watching E3 and seeing the brand new Trailer (which was very awsome if i say so myself!) you can see it here: http://www.gametrailers.com/gamepage.php?id=641

Link is not Born in Hyrule in this one. You are correct. He is a farmboy in a land near Hyrule, and he travels to Hyrule later in the game. Annd the absence of Tingle would not bother me as much as others (that man bothers me! )
