Of J-Rock and...Waffles...?

This story came about due to a long conversation between ShiroiHikari, Kkun, and myself involving waffles, Hyde, and pot. No, we weren't the ones smoking it, as much as it may seem that way.

DISCLAIMER: I have next to no idea what these people *actually* act like. Bear with me here.

CAST OF CHARACTERS IN ORDER OF APPEARENCE:

Hyde, (sexy) vocals of L'Arc~en~ciel.

Gackt. He does his own thing, you know.


Image

Mana. Um, he used to be a guitarist and composer for Malice Mizer, but I don't know what he does now. [EDIT: According to RoyalWing, Mana now has his own band, Moi Dix Mois.]

Miyavi. He's another stand alone dude.


Image

Sawao Yamanaka. Lead singer for The Pillows.


Image

Ken. He's, like, the guitarist for L'Arc~en~ciel.

Daichi. Lead singer for Visual Kei group Psycho le Cemu.


NOW ON TO THE SHOW!!


CHAPTER ONE


(Our story opens in the L'Arc Lair...)


Image - (dials a number and taps his foot impatiently)


Image - This is Gackt. If you're a fangirl, please call back between the hours of--


Image - Dude. Gackt.


Image - Oh. Hey, Hyde.


Image - Gackt. We've got a situation.


Image - Uh oh.


Image - I feel... (dun dun) the Need.


Image - For speed?


Image - No.


Image - Oh. (thinks for a moment) Chocolate?


Image - NO. Waffles, man. I need waffles.


Image - Oh. Cool. Let's call Miyavi and the guys and go get some waffles. (hangs up)



Image - Jeez. (hangs up)

(Meanwhile, at...wherever the heck it is that Mana lives...the phone rings...)

Image - Hello. You are speaking with Mana. If you're that scary stalker fangirl, PLEASE stop calling me. If--

Image - It's me, Mana.

Image - Oh, my. Miyavi. How are you?

Image - Fairly attractive. But that's not important right now. Hyde feels the Need.

Image - Oh, dear. The Need?

Image - Yep.

Image - I'll be there as soon as I finish curling my hair. (hangs up)

(So, in the end, they assembled, through the J-Rock phone tree, Hyde, Miyavi, Mana, Gackt, Sawao, and Daichi in the L'Arc Lair. No, it doesn't look like the Batcave.)

(In the L'Arc Lair, the various J-Rockers are gathered doing various things. Hyde and Gackt are definitely NOT arguing over who's voice makes more fangirls swoon.)

Image - I mean, come on. Listen to "Vanilla" and tell me you can't hear the fangirls screaming all over Japan.

Image - Please. It doesn't even have to be a love song. I brought them to their knees with "READY STEADY GO". And don't get me started on "Lover Boy".

Image - Are you kidding me? "Lover Boy" sounds like it was written by a drunken monkey in heat.

Image - Hello? I'm standing right here!

Image - Hmph. Whatever. (clears his throat) Hey! Everybody shut up and listen!

(The J-Rockers quiet down.)

Image - We are gathered here today--

Since not even Lunis, the one person I thought might get the reference, did not, I shall inform you of what I had in mind. In the fourth Trigun Maximum, Elendira gets a phone call from Knives-sama. Upon picking up the phone, he says, "Oh, my. Knives-sama." Now, Elendira is a manga-only Gung-Ho Gun who is a transvertite. Mana is a crossdresser. He answered in a similar manner. Lame reference, I know.

Image - Everyone knows that every hundred years--

Image - J-Rock hasn't been around that long.

Image - But aren't you 200 or something?

Image - 456 this year, actually. And I wasn't singing all that time.

Image - (rolls his eyes)

Image - As I was saying, before I was SO RUDELY INTERRUPTED, every hundred years, J-Rockers from all over the world--

Image - All over the world? How can they be J-Rockers if they aren't from Japan?

Image - Does this include K-Rockers?

Image - Is Hitomi-chan considered a J-Rocker?

Image - WILL EVERYONE JUST SHUT UP AND LISTEN?!
