Christ Centered Gaming Reviews

Christ Centered Gaming Reviews is (in my opinion the largest collection of hypocrites and legal morons this side of Joseph Libermann's office(and I say that only because he's a video game hater, nothing politcal intended).

But, that's my opinion. Actually, it gets almost funny when people post comments on the reviews. Check out their review on Doom 3, and THEN look at the comments. And the way the Devil May Cry reviewer called Dante's Devil Trigger form a "thingy"...(chuckles)...anyway, what's your thoughts?

I love how this guy bashes the graphics of Doom III. He's barely running it on mid settings with a Gforce 4 Ti4200. It really kills me when people like this bash Doom, Quake, Onimusha, Devil May Cry, and other related games with demons in them. If this game was satanic wouldn't it make sense to be helping the demons instead of putting 20 ought buckshot in their face? I also liked how that guy pointed out that the reviewer gave Eternal War a good review and it still had demons in it.

But my favorite comment would have to be by Godbaby or whatever what an idiot.

It certainly is nice to see Christians eddifying each other and building up the kingdom through their togetherness.

Come on, Oldphil didn't anyone tell you that bashing other Christians is the new unity? It's like how pink is the new black.

I'm with Yojimbo on this one. There's a big difference between making friends with demons and killing them. Also, if the reviewer had payed more attention to the story, he or she would have realized that the demons aren't really traditional demons per se, but coagulations of people's fears and doubts. (Mad props to the comment box.)

I'm not the biggest Doom fan out there ("Fan" being an overly optimistic statement discribing my feelings of indifference towards it) I have to agree with some of the commentators - did the reviewer and I play the same game?

I can't wait for this. Seriously.

I'm in the camp that thinks the reviewer was being foolish. I actually seek out games that have me fighting hordes of demons. It's very...fulfilling.

It certainly is nice to see Christians eddifying each other and building up the kingdom through their togetherness.

Personally, I think some Christians need a verbal smackdown. When you make Christians, and in turn Jesus, look foolish(which, of course, pushes people away from Christ) it is a very serious thing and should be delt with as such. Jesus certainly got plenty riled a couple of times. The trick is making a constructive verbal smackdown. You've gotta balance just the right amount sarcasm, compassion, and forcefullness. There is a time for togetherness and a time to distance yourself from and rebuke a comrade who is in error.

Somewhat hypocritical content aside, the content of the reviews is terrible. >_> I read through a few - no capital letters, no coherent punctuation (if there's any at all), spelling mistakes, and the FF9 reviewer admitted to not even finished the game.

Oy.

It's more a harsh Brick to the face, letting people everywhere know that acting stupid online and giving the rest of us a bad name, is a "no no". If you're going to act like an Idiot online (like I do sometimes) don't do it in God's name. Most important thing I've ever learned. Messing up and acting smart like you know everything... is ok. But Being a Butthole in name of Jesus, just makes us all look bad.

Because sometimes... asking nicely, just doesn't work. That's why there's people like shatterheart. Honest, harsh, honest ... honest.

The King James Bible is God’s words.
And I love how they reiterate that a couple times while underlining it. And here I just thought it was the Bible was God's word now it has to be the King James Bible.:eyeroll:

The content on these reviews is terrible anyway. With their open review policy there is a huge gap of consistency in these. Some reviews are barely a paragraph while others are incoherent and slopped together. And some of the things these reviewers say are ridiculous how could the webmaster possibly publish the crap some of these people spew.

And their forums are really bleh...I'm not liking half of what I've read there. People blatantly direspecting eachother and trying to put themselves on the higher ground while doing it in God's name.

Just FYI, Jimbo, there are Christians who believe that the only "true" version of the Bible is the KJV. I'm not one of them. :P Just letting you know that words like that could start an argument. ^^

At any rate, putting my opinion here would merely be redundant considering pretty much everyone here (and a few members there) already stated it. But yes, I look forward to when CAA gets a game review database. :D

But...But... God's Words... they are... so powerful, how can one language, possibly hold all their meanings?

*begins to ponder*

It's important that we read as many Translations as we can, so that we are well rounded. Totally for real.

Actually, the reason some people believe that the KJV is the only true version of God's word is because it uses the original Greek and Hebrew texts(and...yeah, I'm one of those people). Even then, there are some translation mistakes, like how the word "kill" should have been translated to murder a few times. So, I guess, when you get right down to it, the only way to read the Bible without worrying about possible translation errors is to read it in Greek or Hebrew.

And bigsleepj, you might be reading the KJV. It can be translated to another language and still be the KJV. What makes it the KJV is the text it's translated from, not the language.

I hope this explains the other side a bit.

People are entitled to their own opinions. Personally, I do feel that Doom is rather gory and the pentagrams bother me. However, I first saw the game when I was five to seven years old. It frightened me, (especially when I meant to click on Reader Rabbit and got Doom...LOL) but I wasn't "scarred for life".

What bothers me the most is that the person who writes these reviews is very biased. Baldur's Gate was violent and had dark levels with blood smeared all over the walls, yet it got a perfectly decent review.

I find it strange that Soul Calibur II, which despite its notoriously skimpy outfits has practically NO gore in it whatsoever, was called a game that should not be recommended to any Christian when Baldur's Gate features just as many flaws.

If you're going to mercilessly bash a game, at least be fair!
