I love rock, mostly old rock, though.

I'm a hardcore oldies junky. I listen to almost everything that's old. Some of my favourites are: Janis Joplin, Meatloaf, Zeppelin, Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, The Byrds, America, SIMON AND GARFUNKLE, the Guess Who, the Doors, CCR..... and this list goes on..

I love rock.. I don't care too much for the lyrics of some rock.. and you guys know what I am taling about. I love what rock stands for... rebellion against things you feel are wrong. I quote Bono: "Rebellion starts at home, in your heart, in your refusal to compromise your beliefes and your values."

Not all rock music themes focus on rebellion. Many of U2's songs are in a sense, "spiritual". Nevertheless, the rebellious theme is rock opponents' favorite attack, especially by Jeff Godwin. Yes, we rockers know, it's the name that now lives in infamy.

Anyone read any of his books?

I do believe that rock does root in rebellion. As a spin off of the old RnB that was played in the clubs, early rock and roll was a voice for teenages in the 1950's who were being fed one set of truth and ideals by their family and living a totally different reality. It was sort of the beginning of a "voice for teenagers". However, its certainly evolved quite a bit into more of a sound instead of a form of rebellion per say.

I like everything but rap. one of my fave local DJ is Turn 180 tho I also like DJ two fave rock band Demon Hunter and Showbread that and may ska never die!
