Actually the first form died with one swipe of my Gunblade. Ok fine numerous sights because I used his Limt breAK.

I`ve been wondering this? in Chrono Trigger is Larvos a guy with a sword or a gigantic creature. I was wondering if he was that giant thing or if he was inside that giant thing.

This isn't really a spoiler, but I do reference the final boss, if someone doesn't want to know about it...

Lavos is a fairly complex creature; it has a gigantic spiky shell that does most of the fighting. Once it is killed however, you enter and battle a larger form that appears to serve as the brain; within this form is the Lavos Core itself.

Yeah, basically. Lavos is actually my second all-time favorite game villain, but it's a bit unusual since he has no motives-he just sucks the crap out of a planet and moves onto the next one.
Here's my views on the villains, and I'm doing all of them:

-Garland, Emporer, and Dark Cloud- (I,II, and III) Being that these were on the NES, there wasn't much they could do with them. Plus, I never actually got through any of them...

-Zeromus-(IV) Not much on his background, so they only thing I really liked about him was the way he looked. I could mention Golbez, but he became a good guy later, so...

-Exdeath-(V) Personally, I thought he was the first really developed villain in the FF series. Of course, he was actually a monster, which is different from most of the FF villains, so some how he just doesn't connect the same way.

-Kefka-(VI) Insane, that explains this guy in a nutshell. He basically wanted to just destroy anything. I'd give him extra points for being the first with this motive (unlike some later villains...) and dressing like an insane clown freak. Plus, the final bosses you fight before him were pretty cool. Really good bad guy, but in for me...

-Sephirtoh-(VII) ...this guy takes the crown. Just read the other stuff people posted on him. The thing about him was he didn't believe he was evil. He believed he was supposed to rule the planet, but his motives and actions were...questionable...
Those here who say he doesn't look right or "flies like Superman" need to take into account that this was the first one with 3-D graphics, so, of course, it wouldn't look as good (which is why they really need to do a remake of this game). Oh yes, "One Winged Angel" is the greatest VG song--ever.
Still, this guy is the coolest of any game villains in my eyes.

-Ultemecia-(VIII) I really liked the final fight, but really, you weren't given much insight on her...

-Kuja-(IX) Great villain. Interesting motives. Cool attacks. Extremely cold-hearted.
One prob with him--he look's like a fag. His face is all girly and the guy is wearing a thong. WHY, Square, WHY?!
**However, Sephiroth is also looking a bit questionable on the upcoming movie O.O**

-Seymour-(X) I haven't really played this one, but everytime I look at him, I don't think "ruthless villain". I think "dork", "dweeb", and "bad-hair day". Sorry, if you like him, but really, his summon Anima is way cooler than he is. However, his final form didn't look pretty cool, but other than that, I just don't see it.

>< PLEASE, people, WHEN will you learn that "f@g" is an incredibly derrogatory term? I have NOTHING wrong with you not liking Kuja's outfit, but I'm appaled that anyone would use such a term to describe someone, video game character or not.

I'll ask two things:
1) Yes, that term is considered derogatory, please don't use it.
2) Please don't post further on this subject; kindly return to topic.

i voted for sephiroth, but i think seifer should be up there, even though he isnt a main villian

Ok why does everyone say Seymour is the villian of FF10?! He`s not he`s A villian. The villian is Yu Yevon who has the least described motives and backrounds of any games I`ve ever played.

Seifer is a villian.....I`m only halfway through FF6 and hopelessly stuck.

Probably because
Yu Yevon doesn't have much character to him. Rightly speaking, he doesn't even have a will anymore. He's caught in an endless cycle of summoning and destruction. I think it's very hard to be much of a villain without a will. Which brings up another villainous point about Sephiroth, that he can dominate wills. To control or nullify the will of another person, like he does on occassion to Cloud, is a truly heinous act. The only other FF villain to do this has been Ultimecia.
I don't know if I'd really call Seipher a villain. He was more of a pawn being used by the Sorceress.

In FFX I just beat Lady Yunalesca, and it occurs to me that she might deserve to be on such a list (though currently we have chosen only the major villain from each game, and Seymour indubitably has a better claim to that title). She did play a major role in the cycle, but she struck me as more pathetic than evil.

Oh, I got Seifer and Sephlier mixed up. I`m halfway through FF6 I`ve beaten FF8 awhile ago.

Yeah, Seifer was kind of a villian I guess. I hope they make a videogame that tells you what happned in the time of Shuyin and Lenne so I can view Yevon turning evil.

Terribly sorry. I did wonder about using that. It won't happen again.

The villian is Yu Yevon who has the least described motives and backrounds of any games I`ve ever played.

Actually, I'd say Necron takes that title. I mean, you actually learn who Yu Yevon is, but does anybody know who in the world Necron is suppose to be?! I thought he was pretty cool looking (though agravatingly hard), but you really get zilch info on him. It's like he's some sort of judge of something...

Oh yeah, what about Raem from Crystal Chronicles? OK, so it's not really in the true series, but getting to Raem is worth playing through the entire game. I mean, try it. The second round with him is just, well, amazingly beautifully. I won't spoil it for those who haven't seen it, but it's incredible.

Still, no one holds a candle to Sephy. :D

You're talking about the last boss in Final Fantasy 9, right? Yeah, he was the worst last boss of all the Final Fantasy games...it's like, you beat Kuja, and this dude comes out of nowhere and it's like, "Huh? Who the crap is this guy?" It's like the makers of the game decided, "Hmm...we can't figure out how to make a climactic final battle with Kuja, so we'll just throw in this no-name loser and be done with it!"

Heck, even GARLAND on the 8-bit NES system with no developed characters had more background than that...

That was the same problem I had with FF8. You really didn't get to know Ultemecia that well before you started pounding on her. That's the only thing Sephiroth had in his favor, I think...he was quite obviously the bad guy from about two or three hours into the game. The only other one that comes close to that is Kefka from 6, who you knew was a major bad guy, but didn't know to what extent until a bit later. In 8 it was like, "Uh...so who's the bad guy on this disc?"

Necron was the worst. He was hard though. Where the heck does he come from? Actually some of the fights with Seymore was looking like Necron. heh. I thought from the moment I saw the blue haired guy that he was a slimeball. I've only beat VII, VIII, and IX. Still working on the final boss for X and I'm lost in IV. Need to finish VI. Sephiroth is the only one I beat the first time I fought him. VII is also the one I like the least. I was very confused about who Cloud actually was and what happened in that last part after you beat Sephiroth. I think he looks cool and he has a cool theme song. I did think it was great getting to fight him in Kingdom hearts. And he was really hard there. I liked VIII but it is true that we don't know much about Ultimecia. And how is she able to exist in compressed time. And why does she want to do that?

Definitely Seymour. He gave me the creeps since the first second I saw him. The guy's so darn evil. He goes back on promises, manipulates people, and has a staggering disregard for life.

It seems like all the last bosses of FF7 and up are all like shaped like Necron. I mean Seph Safer, Ultimecia, final form, Seymour Ommis ( though not last but close enough).
I can`t describe it. They all look like angels in a way or something.

Kefka as well (sort of). However, I think that the common element is primarily wings. Evidently people think that wings look cool, and logically the final boss should look cool. I wouldn't consider it highly important.

Kefka`s purple.

In FF6, should I expect any FMVs during the game or just at the closing.

FF4 and 5 should`ve been a package because Chrono Trigger and FF6 are similiar in many ways.

I believe the PS version had some FMVs.

Hey, I know Necron was confusing and all, but I actually thought he was pretty cool. Am I like the only one who thinks this?!

Also, can anyone offer an explanation for why Sephy's from are named "Bizarro" and "Safer"? Maybe they liked Superman or something when they made "Bizarro", but why in the world is he called "Safer"?

I'm supposed to be on "CAA leave" but I had to say something about Necron...because...honestly...>_> I think I was one of the few who wasn't confused/disappointed by him.
Kuja was dying, and therefore desired to bring the rest of Gaea along with him upon his death, so what does he do to achieve this? He goes for the source of life itself, the Crystal. After Kuja takes care of the cystal, Necron confronts Zidane and party and explains his purpose - he's a sort of being that was (I assume) created before time, who exists only to destroy life when living beings realize that their only desire is to die. Necron interpreted Kuja's desires and the destruction of the crystal as the sign that life had indeed come to this realization, and thus attempts to destroy Gaea/life itself. Boss battle ensues, duh nuh nuh nuh nuh. =/ I think Necron appears to (inadvertantly or not) essentially "finish" what Kuja had started, despite Kuja's being injured and dying, demonstrating the gravity of Kuja's desires to end life...or something like that.
Yeah, he does look like a clown or jester or something. I've seen what seems to be some sort of FMV pic of Kefka, and he looks even more freakish. O.O

Villains aren't supposed to be cool, they're supposed to be evil. For example, Vader is cool and evil. Palpatine on the other hand is not cool, but extremely evil. Sephiroth cool and evil. Kefka, insane, not cool, very evil.

Quite honestly, I think that you're not giving FFVI or Kefka the chance that they deserve. One of your arguments was just that it wasn't 3D. That would rule out a lot of extremely good games. Graphics do not make or break a game. Story and gameplay. Story and gameplay. Story and gameplay.

I've known quite a few people with white hair who aren't elderly. Some people just have white hair.

Kefka, insane, not cool, very evil.

The insane part makes Kefka somewhat less evil than more rational villains. It is far more disturbing to rationally decide to destroy the world than to do it on a whim because you're just nuts.
