I mean, the graphics look like something a dog puked up, the gameplay is so bad it's annoying, the multiplayer mode is excrutiatingly lacking, the game is just no fun, and boring as heck to play. You want a good shooter? I don't know why you think you can find it here. Losers.
Yes, I'm joking. Halo rocks.

This leads to a nice blend of run 'n gun action and strategy.

exactally why I don't like Halo =p The only strategy I saw was "oh, pikc up that snipr rifle and hide in that tower"
And Halo lacked weapons, it was like... 1 of each type for both races or something

You just have to think. Should I crash the warthog in the group of aliens? Soften them with the chain gun from out of their range? Drive around them in strafing runs having the marines in the back picking them off? Wreck the Warthog in front of the aliens, use it as cover, toss a bunch of grenades, keep suppressed with the machine gun, and then clean up the stragglers before they regroup? Pick off the weak ones with the pistol and then move in guns ‘a blazin’?
Why do you need tons of weapons in every game? The weapons were balanced in Halo. Each was good on its own right. Which added more strategy to the game. Sure, the needier had limited uses, but it still was very useful if used right.
Mr. SmartyPants wrote:yes, but if you die you could always restart that same level... (cause its a campaign and all) Unlike something such as Day of Defeat... where you have once chance at that time to get things right
what i meant was it had only 1 kind of human pistol, only 1 automatic gun, only 1 this, only one that. I mean id perfer having a multiple selection of those which are automatic (like should I grab the p90, or the ak-47? perhaps the mac-10.... or maybe even the mp5 or the UMP) or something like a pistol (should I buy the five-seven... or maybe the desert eagle? Maybe stick to the glock?) I mean you have a wide selection of various types of guns... and each have major differences. And you utalize what you feel you would work best with in the given situation (i dont even mean which type of gun... but what type of gun within that type. You got 4 sniper rifles to choose from, but are you better off with speed and silence? or an semi-auto sniperrifle to take down multiple targets fast? Are you just covering fire or trying to take out the whole team?
And the sniper in halo... was so weird... the bullet didn't move as fast as it should... i mean im shooting a guy and the crosshair circle turns red... and i fire.. and he just walks away... and he's not even really far from me... plus you can see the line of the bullet firing... bad enginnering of a sniperrifle if ya ask me the point of a sniperrifle is to remain undetected... but seeing that line lets you opponent know where you are
generally, i don't like "spacey" futuristic shooters, and i perfer more realistic types (aka cs, day of defeat, etc) unless its something like starwars
they COULD of made it MUCH harder to use.... like MUCH harder to aim... and a little bit weaker in exchange for a faster bulletThat was for balance on the multiplayer. If the sniper rifle shot faster and didn’t at least give a hint of it’s location, it would be the ultimate weapon in Halo.
And what’s exactly wrong with not having that? That would bring a lot of frustration to Halo’s legendary mode then most can bear. Halo’s no real-life simulation or ever was meant to be.. you are fighting aliens after all. Nevertheless, Halo can be a strategic and twitch challenge if you set it to the right difficulty.
