The name 'Azier'....

Talk about anything in here.

The name 'Azier'....

Postby Azier the Swordsman » Wed Apr 20, 2005 6:21 pm

I've been thinking about this for a while.... and I've come to a conclusion. Now you know the English language is not the easiest language in the world, and letters and letter combinations can be pronounced so many ways it's easy to pronounce them wrong. I guess I'm saying I'm just curious about something..... I wonder how many here REALLY know how to correctly pronounce my screenname? It's not neccesarily the easiest in the world....

So... I'm having a contest. Whoever can post the correct pronounciation of my name is the winner. The winner recieves absolutely nothing except the satisfaction of knowing that they have an extra ounce of intelligence.

Meh, I guess I'll forego the most obvious pronunciation and go out on a limb.

Ah-ZEE-ay.

Or maybe like Azure?

Ei, typing out sounds is tricky :eh:

The satisfaction of knowing you have an extra ounce of intelligence. That's slightly more than the average human.

Ah-zee-ayr (es) or ahz-yay (fr)

With you, though, I normally pronounce it ... well, maybe I shouldn't post that. ;)

Interesting. I've always thought of it as azure - as in the light blue color.

In my mind I generally thought "AH-zeer" and I can't say I'll change anything for knowing what you intended.

They're not always silent - but sometime the ending "ant" is silent (it's used in two different ways, but only pronounced for one of them).
