Scoliosis

Postby K. Ayato » Wed Apr 20, 2005 10:57 am

Hello again. Please pray for me. I have scoliosis, which simply means my spine is crooked. Normally it gives me minimal discomfort, but lately my mattress has given in and is sagging, and it only makes my back very painful. So bad I become unable to sleep, because I'm draining my energy just to find a comfortable position. So now I'm sleeping on the couch. My parents are still away in Cambodia, but as soon as they come back, I'll let them know that I need a new mattress. And as soon as possible. Otherwise I'm sleeping on my bedroom floor. Any prayers will be appreciated.

Depend on it. God's work done in God's way will never lack God's supply. He is too wise a God to frustrate His purposes for lack of funds, and He can just as easily supply them ahead of time as afterwards, and He much prefers doing so.

I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?" "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times." It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach. He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

I'll pray. From what I hear, that can be an incredibly uncomfortable thing to live with. I pray that God grants you ease and that you can rest at night.

Yowch, I can totally relate. I have a scoliosis too, albeit it's pretty minor. It's caused my hips to be a bit wonky, as well as turning my one foot out a bit when I walk. I'll definitely be praying for ya.

My boyfriend told me that he has some back problems that might be similar to your case and he used to see a chiropractor. He's been advised to do regular moderate exercise to crack his back and keep his back muscles flexible. Maybe some stretching exercise might help you too? I dunno...just a suggestion. >.>;;

I'll pray for you.

Yeah. I'll talk about it in more detail to my parents when they return.
