Halo is the most overrated piece of crap I have ever played.

Have a video game or or VG review? This is the place to to discuss it! We also accept discussions of board games and the like, but SHHH! Don't tell anyone, OK?

Halo is the most overrated piece of crap I have ever played.

I mean, for God's sakes, what does this game have that makes it better than other shooters? I mean, the graphics look like something a dog puked up, the gameplay is so bad it's annoying, the multiplayer mode is excrutiatingly lacking, the game is just no fun, and boring as heck to play. You want a good shooter? I don't know why you think you can find it here. Losers.

Yes, I'm joking. Halo rocks.

The PC version was quite a disappointment considering the GeForce FX line was at it's peak in 2003 when Halo was (finally) released. Gearbox did a miserable job of porting the engine and optimizing the textures for being a completely DX8 game. I still regret paying full price for it.

*puts away soapbox* That was a good one Azier, I was ready to give a full on lecture of why Halo is a good game. :) Man, I was riled-up and ready too. ;)

Yeah, it had some pretty steep system req., but it played great on my computer (so I didn't care much).

Halo is overated but at least it has a Co-operative play feature which is sadly lacking in a majority of the first-person shooters on every console.

Hehe. I lurves Halo, especially big system link battles.
And yes, I think Halo's overrated to a certain degree, but it still has great graphics, smooth, comfortable gameplay, and nice multiplayer modes to boot. Overall, a good FPS, but nothing super-fantastic-amazing-like.

Ikimasu....I agree that it's best that you keep that bit of information to yourself ;)

I don't like a lot of first person shooter games, and personally, my all time favorite is probably Perfect Dark.

I didn't care a whole lot for the original Halo, but I liked Halo 2 better, and Halo Live is just a COMPLETELY different experience. It rocks.

ikimasu, can you tell me what the overated game is in a Private Mesage. I`m kinda curious.

I think that Halo was very underated. All my friends hate the original, but for some reason I like it better than the sequel which I find very overated. I hope H3 is good but I hope they don`t stretch the series as far as FF.

I have never been a Halo fan. It just bored me. Its not that I hate FPS, because I was a Quake fan....but I just feel it is really over-rated. If you like it, thats cool though.

I seriously think its overated to. The graphics were good for there time, the story is unbelievably cliched, the gameplay is nothing to get excited about, its just not fun. The multiplayer isn't fun either. Its incredibly boring. I don't see what's so good about it! The only thing I like about it is the bright colours of the uniforms and some of the aliens.

I'm not even a huge FPS fan, but I like several games like: No One Lives Forever 2, Giants and the original Unreal Tournament. And I find them a lot more fun!

Wow. When posting this thread I didn't really think there would be this many negative comments....

As for the game, I have actually played very little of the main game myself, (I don't own an Xbox at this current point of time) but I have been through the multiplayer mode a couple of times with friends. The multiplayer is definately one of the most top notch for an FPS, and it's a lot of fun.

Gotta second you there. I can't think of another FPS, or hardly any game, that allows you to play through the standard campaign with a friend.

As for the storyline, yes, it's cliché, but that doesn't ruin the game. It also has a lot of variation. The only problem I had is that when I started Halo 2, it was like, didn't we already do all this the first time?

Of course, I never played through the entirety of Halo, only about the first third.
Take it like you gave it; what else matters in the end? To be honest, it's all a one-shot test; that leaves plenty of places to go wrong, but how will you ever know? There's a pointer, I will admit. Turn it on, listen to it, feel it burn.

At-Close Paren-Right inclusive bracket-Tilde. Thanks to CAA mods. Taken from Jaden Mental's sig.
