Wasn't FFX released in January or February?

I was looking at FFXII online last night, and it looks like it is supposed to tie into FF Tactics somehow. Anybody know more about this?

It takes place in the same planet and has Ivalice in it......yeah....

Also there are no more random encounters. You see the enemy before you fight like Grandia or Star Ocean games. Also the Battle System has been tweaked a little.

1. It's not online.

2. The world is called Ivalice and it contains the races that were in Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. Judges similar to the ones in FFTA also factor into the story somehow. I'd basically consider it an alternate reality...

bingo.

I also noticed some of the summons seem to be some of the bosses from FFT and it also has that opeing part about the warrior holding the stone.

Yep and I typed 'info' twice. I`m an idoit.

In FFT, I`m stuck on this battle in Chapter 1. It`s the one after the Rat`s Celler and you have to take out some preistess. Does every battle get harder as you go along? If that`s the case, I really stink at this sort of game and I should stop playing. I did well in Fire Emblem but that game is easier.

I haven't ever actually played FF Tactics, but from I'm told, the game is supposed to be pretty hard, each battle tougher than the last.

Ah, alright. My mistake.

Actually, the storyline is very good. Plenty of twists and turns. The problem is that Sony did the dialogue translation of Final Fantasy Tactics and as such, it wound up being extremely confusing. Sony seemed to be pretty bad at some of their translations during the PSX era...
I would say that it is a pretty difficult game.
I still remember the battle with Wiegraf later on in the game as being very hard.
But interestingly enough, I didn't really find the final boss to be that difficult.

I do think that it was amusing that they added Cloud Strife in as an optional bonus character...

As a sidenote, the GBA Final Fantasy Tactics Advance is quite a bit easier, although it lacks the storyline that the PSX game has.

Yeah, each battle is harder. I spent a good deal of time doing random battles to acquire the top skills to make the battles easier.

Here's a tip. During a battle reduce the enemy to one character and then have all your characters use weak attacks on each other and heal each other. You will gain exp. and jp. for each action.

Also, pay attention to the objective for each battle. I think the one for fighting against the priest is simply to defeat the priest, so if you can concentrate your attacks on him without getting your characters killed by the knights, that might work.

I liked the general plot of the game and the twists, but the religion was too obviously modeled on Christianity, and has a somewhat anti-christian bent to it. Had it just been a made up religion it would have been fine.

Actually at the beginning with the Princess I thought it WAS Christian. Then I heard it bashed the catholic church.

Yeah, ok......so there are Bosses in FFT? Are they like the strongest of the group you have to take on or leader....uh...

I was gonna buy Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, but I herd Tactics was much better. Now which one is better or easier? FFTA or FFT? I mean I like a challege every once in awhile but if FFT just gets harder than UGH!

sequals are pretty much lame... period... there is no way they can continue final fantasy 6... it would just suck, it would mess up the awesomness of final fantasy 6

Yes, if they wanted to they could find a way so don`t predict things like that
.

Sequels rule. Where would Star Wars be without the Empire Strikes back or Lord of the Rings without a trilogy. Who wants to watch 10 hours worth of one movie?

If you`re specifically talking about FF games you should be more specific. The only FF sequel we`ve seen is X-2 which mainly was game with a lame storyline
and meant for sidequests. It was cool how they brought back the Job System and allowed you to switch in the heat of battle but that and the fun sidequests, mini games, and hidden bosses were the only thing good about it. Personally, as far as characters and stoyline go, it was Charlie`s Angels gone RPG.

ff3's and ff5's job system was cooler

and starwars was MADE to be a trilogy (well now... a heptilogy or whatever) and Lotr was also supposed to be a trilogy... ff6 was standalone

The job system reached perfection in FFT, IMO. Whether or not the bosses are the most difficult characters depends on which battle it is. The easiest way to single out a boss is to get whichever class it is to equip the jump skill with a high jump value allowing you to jump pretty much anywhere on the battlefield.

i agree... because they were TOTALLY different then the other jobs, with only minor similrities, in ff3 and ff5, you had jobs, and they were different, but there weren't VAST differences besides weapon use and spells and etc

i think the ff3's job thing was amazing... there were SOO many jobs, i think more jobs than ff5!

Never played FF3. Heard it`s gonna be DS which i don`t want to buy at all. I`d rather buy a Psp and I know there`s been a DS Vs. PSP thing going on in other threads so lets not discuss it.

But I have played FF5 which is officially my least favorite FF game. I liked how if you were fighting an elemental boss like Ifirit you could switch everyone to Black Mage and use Ice3 every turn. It was ok, but my least favorite. Yes i`ve played 1 through 10-2 (besides 3).

Sorry I guess they were made to be sequels unlike FF6. What they really need need to make is an FF6 remake and I`m the first person to say that.

Final Fantasy Tactics was one of the best FF titles on the PS1. Period. Many people did not like it because it was not a cake walk like some other games are.

Iid actually say either FF7 or 8 was my favorite then 9 then Tactics. Tactics is kinda hard for me. I was dispointed because i thought it was going to be an RPG not Battle/Stradegy.

i dont see how they can utilize 2 screens for final fantasy 3... plus the touch pad... unless you were scrolling through menus or something... ff 3 would be more suited for the GBA

I halfway agree. it would be fun to touch the enemy you want t attack or have your finger touch "Attack", but the graphics would have to be alot better.

I don`t see why FF7 couldn`t have had voice effects or FF8 especially. Almost everygame around at that time had voice effects then. And don`t tell me the graphics were to bad to have voice effects....just look at Crash Bandicoot as in the original.

Some of those voices were pretty bad though. I'd prefer to have none until they're sure they can do it well. Which is what I think they did.

I herd they didn`t have the voice effects because it takes up a lot vof memory on the discs to put in voice effects which would sort of explain why the original Grandia, both disks, was the same legnth as Disc One in FF7.

I think it would`ve fir the gae perfectly in FF8, execpt in games with graphics like that you need to put the character face next to the box where the words are in like in Grandia. Star Ocean 3 was an exception.
