Anime Expo, anyone?

Talk about anything in here.

Postby Cognitive Gear » Mon Mar 14, 2005 7:25 am

Yeah, AlBehdNikki, that is actually what I was thinking. I was just waiting to bring it up until we got closer to the expo. It seems to be the only place I can think of that's obvious enough for everyone to find each other.

Gee it would've been cool to meet some of you but I understand things get a little technical especially since many of us live across the map. I will be in California, though in July/August but I'm going up to Sacramento.

Maybe I can swing by.

Just realized this was in Comment Box for some reason. Since this won't be an officially CAA sponsored meet'n'greet (for liability reasons), I'll move it to General. Please note that the fact that the *CAA administration* isn't officially sanctioning it doesn't mean that we discourage it (especially since I'm a mod and I'm considering going myself), but the proper methods of personal protection that would be appropriate for a private group meeting do apply.

x3 *high fives Locke* Yeah! Cosplay! Hardcore to the max! I'll have to find you and take picture~!

So far my costumes are going to be as follows:

Heimdall (Mythical Detective Loki Ragnarok, with an accompanying Freyr)
Thatz (Dragon Knights)
Shuichi Shindou (*insert no discuss title here*, with an accompanying Nakano Hiiroshi)

the last day I'm undecided on. I'd wear my Son Goku costume, but I'd die of heatstroke. >>; I'll probably wear my Heimdall costume again like I did last year. x3

It is... I've heard that it's one of the biggest ones in the States. Alot of people come just to see Man-Faye though XD (I'm getting a pic with him this year.

This year, I'm only cosplaying as one person.
Fem-Zoro. ONE PIECE. It's the female version of Zoro, since my mom wont let be be a guy, and Since I dont want to shave my head XP

I'm thinking of going as Nami again this year, but I'm trying to grow my hair out so I dont think that will be happening...

I'm probably going to go with the anime club from my school. I probably won't dress up, though.

Well I'll deffinetly be going to Gen Con here in Indy. That's about all we have here. We used to have this other Con, can't remember the name, but it was never very succesful and 2002 was the last year it was here. What's that other convention that takes place in Chicago?

Where are you coming from? La Jolla is in San Diego, only an hour (not even) from the border of Mexico. So either you're coming from Mexico, or there is another La Jolla I'm unaware of north of Anaheim?

Anyway, I'll be there. My girlfriend and I are running main events. Looks like I won't be entering another AMV either; too busy with work and other videos AX has got me making.
BTW, for those of you staying in a hotel, keep an eye out for the new AX Channel on your tvs.

Could be coming in from the Imperial Valley, though.

I think I'm out. My rotation schedule (which I just got) has me on inpatient rounds for July and August, and that means inconsistent weekends, so it seems unlikely I'll be able to make it. Have fun, y'all.

OK people. AX is 3 months away. Can I get everyone who can to confirm that they will be comming?

Also, I would like to ask those that are planning on cosplaying if it is ok for pics to be posted on CAA after the event.

Third, I wan't to remind you to Pre-register if you have not already done so. You have until june 15th to do so. (don't worry, I still need to do this too.)

At some point in time, I will post pics of the meeting area, for those of us who would like to meet.

(I apologize to the mods if this is considered grave digging, I prefer all this info to be kept in one spot though)

100% attending. ^_^ Planning on pre-registering once I'm done hellping my friend get airline tickets (which would be sometime this weekend), because I REFUSE to stand in such a horrid line. Ikimasu, do you know if they still mail the badges out, or is it too late for that?

And of course, you have full permission to post pictures of me. x3; If you're looking, I'll be cosplaying as the following: Heimdall from MLR, Kantaro from Tactics, and Shuichi from *insert no discuss title here* :thumb:

I *might* be there... depends on if I do summer arts program in fresno ( I think they cross) If I dont go (eg. no scholorships) I'll most definately be trying to get to AX and dragging a few other people with me. If I do get to go to fresno... well lets just say I'll be working with pro artists (Scott McCloud) on a comic book and learning from them about the basics of comic book storytelling...
