My list of really awesome OS X programs!

Postby Mr. SmartyPants » Tue Apr 05, 2005 5:33 pm

for those who use macs. I have made a list of a bunch of really awesome programs to use!

1. Mozilla's Camino Browser
http://www.caminobrowser.com

camino is a small, tight, really nice browser made by Mozilla. It's in its beta stages though, but give it a try!

2. Adium X
http://www.adiumx.com

a GREAT alternative to aim or ichat... This program is HIGHLY customizible Adium X allows you to connect on AIM, YIM, MSNMSGR, Jabber, ICQ, .mac, and a whole other bunch of weird stuff ive never heard of... i personally LOVE this messigning program. It even lets you control itunes in the chat. and also lets you open programs with typing into adium (example, Typing in: /open {Firefox} will open up firefox for me! really really neat! (both extras downloaded separately)

3. A gmail notifier
for those who do use google, there is an alternative to gmail's google notifier! because gmail's gmail notifier is not compatiable with os x (as of now)

1 is gcount
website: http://www.ocf.berkeley.edu/~natan/gcount/

i use it, i also use

the other is gmail status
website: http://homepage.mac.com/carsten.guenther/GmailStatus/

i use them simultaneously, why i do that i do not know... but its a really excellent program!

4. The slim battery meter
i found this nifty program, its a differnet battery meter than os x's standard one.... you can change colors of the meter, like when it's charging you can make it one color, when its not being charged you can make it another color, and when its full you can make it a different color. You can also change the shape of the battery meter

if ya got others to recommend, post them!

Whoa very nice.
What I download for the Macs at school is a ejector for the iPod on the desktop that i found on Download.com

When I my own though, expect some crazy shizzle.
