Grandma has died, prayer request for my mother.

Postby Omega Amen » Sun Apr 03, 2005 9:35 pm

This weekend, I have learned that last week my grandmother (my mother's mother), whom my mother went to Taiwan to take care of for the past few months, passed away. There are different rituals and ceremonies involved in the usual Chinese funeral, and so the funeral date has not been set, but it will probably be sometime at the end of April or the beginning of May, when I will finish with my spring semester. My mother is making her funeral clothes, and she will go back to Taiwan to attend her mother's funeral, of course.

My mother has a very strong mind and spirit, and she seems to have taken the news relatively well. Regardless, I ask for your prayers for my mother to help strengthen her body, mind, and spirit for the sad events she must attend. I will update this thread as soon as I get word of significant events.

Thank you.

UPDATE: April 18th, my mother will get on her first plane to go back to Taiwan. She will stay there for a while. On May 28th, she should be back home. The actual funeral date is May 13th.

Ahh, I remember reading a past post about your grandmother. SOrry to hear about the passing away of your grandmother... I'll pray that the Lord will help comfort your mother and all the other family members during this time of mourning.

I'm so sorry to hear that. I'll be praying that your family will be comforted, and that your mother will be safe as she travels.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

Love is that feeling you get when a girl looks at you and it feels like your driving a car at high speeds and experience a sudden drop. You know what i mean? That sudden sinking feeling you get in your stomach? Yeah, that's love. Leave's you speechless everytime.
