As all of you probably know, the pope died yesterday at about 9:37 PM Vatican time. Pope John Paul was a very, very good man and he was very in touch with the Lord. He has helped so many people throughout the world and it is very sad that he has passed on. However, today he is lying in state in the Vatican. I saw him on the news laying there.... he just looked so peaceful. I'm sure that John Paul is with God right now, so we don't have to be scared or worried for him.
I just wanted to ask everyone to pray for the entire Catholic church and for those who were close to the pope. He has touched many lives and has been an example of God's love for many people. Even though I'm personally not Catholic I loved Pope John Paul and I will really miss him. Let's all pray that the next pope which is selected (although I doubt any pope could be as good as John Paul has been) will hopefully be a righteous, kind man who knows God and will be a good representation for the church.

I will pray for the church and the next pope. Even though I recently started attending a Catholic church, I still was very saddened by John Paul II's death.

I've been very pleased by the unity I've seen in the Church since the death of JPII. Many protestants from around the world are praying in solidarity with Catholics on a scale that I've never seen before. It fills my hear with hope and is a testimony to the greatness of the man, and his ability to let God work through him. It shames me somewhat that within the Catholic Church some are using this as an opportunity to spread disunity instead by pushing their agendas for the next pope while those who are not even Catholic are praying in increasing unity with us.

I've noticed that kind of unity, as well, CDLviking. Similarly, although I am Protestant, I will also pray for the Catholic church.
