Ecco the Dolphin series

Postby MsShinobu » Wed Oct 15, 2003 8:55 pm

Such a beautiful game, if any of you have Sega CD and can find a copy of Ecco and Ecco 2: Tides of TIme, you should really give them a try. The beautiful music and gorgeous graphics can make this game so relaxing. I found myself just swimming around sometimes instead of actually playing.

Just bear in mind that the series has been known to provide some frustrating moments. It can be kinda tough sometimes, but it's really worth it.

To be honest, I've never even heard of these games; but I just had to compliment your signature. That waterfall is just gorgeous! ^_^

I have the first Ecco game for my Genesis and I used to borrow the 2nd one from one of my friends. I haven't played either of them in ages though, but I still remember that I loved the music in them, especially in Tides of Time. ^_^ They're pretty hard games though and I've never beaten either of them. lol

There's one for the PS2 which I think is just named Ecco. (I don't remember too well.) It was ok but I had rented Kingdom Hearts at the same time and so I wound up spending all my time on that instead. I kind of lost my attention span with that one too. It does get boring in places. Very pretty though.
"So David said to Michal, "It was before the LORD, who chose me instead of your father and all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the LORD, over Israel. Therefore I will play music before the LORD. And I will be even more undignified than this, and will be humble in my own sight. But as for the maidservants of whom you have spoken, by them I will be held in honor."

2 Samuel 6: 21&22

"I am going to take this bucket of water and pour it on the flames of hell, and then I am going to use this torch to burn down the gates of paradise so that people will not love God for want of heaven or fear of hell, but because He is God."

Actually, the PS2 version is a port of the Dreamcast version and it's called Ecco the Dolphin. I played a bit of the DC version, but not enough for an opinion, though the controls seemed a bit loose.

I have the Genesis version of the first Ecco. It's ok, but not really great IMO.

Ecco? I've only played it on the game gear. It was a fresh idea, but I didn't get to play it that long 'cause the battery died. lol, the poor short lived geargame.

hehe I have a GameGear too.

I first played Ecco on the Genesis, though the Sega CD version is leaps and bounds better then the Genesis. The Sega CD version has all new music and a few new levels added which make it really nice.

It can be a tough game but is just so beautiful and enjoyable.

Edit: Thank you for the compliment on my signature. The background is actually backgrounds from King of Fighters.
