The most pointless firefox extension...
i am proud to present you.... firesomething, made by some guy Michael O'Rourke from some website. It changes the titlebar of firefox to something like hydrozebra or Firezebu and stuff...

It's pretty funny; IIRC the extension came out just after the change from Firebird to Firefox, when there was the whole name debate. (which I didn't really follow because I'm an Opera guy - I just use Firefox for compatibility testing)
The cake used to be a lie like you, but then it took a portal to the deception core.

You can set it to use text ads from google. No flashing banners there. (but yes, I use the bannerless Opera)

this is actually one of the most useful firefox extensions of all, i have loved it since .7 or whenever, its so funny, i love it
