Star Fox Assault: fun for one?

Postby Esoteric » Wed Mar 23, 2005 5:35 pm

It's been ages since I bought a new game, just been too busy. But I've had my eye on Star Fox Assault for a while. It seems geared toward multiplayer, but is it any fun to play by yourself? Opinions please.

1. Out of 10, this game is a 5 to me. It's kind of plain, and any truly spectacular content is overshadowed by t he frustrating missions and sub-par controls.
2. I've tried its multiplayer, and it's not that great.
3. The whole game kind of has a... cheap feel to it.

You might want to rent this first. I played a bit at the store and single-player seemed fun enough. But I have heard that the main game can be beaten in six hours...at least on the easiest difficulty setting.

Sounds like it would make a good rent, but not really a good buy...at least while its at full price.

Rent it.
The space fights are amazing but they make up less than half the game.
The rest of the game is filled up with overlyfast and clunky ground missions with the occassional highlight of a tank.

Hmm, I suspected as much. Thanks guys. Would any of you be able to recomend another flight-type game for the cube (besides the Rogue Squadron games.) Are there any good ones?

i played it at my friends house, its fun at first, got kinda boring pretty quick... it seems to be a really dummed down version of the rogue squadron series. I recommend rogue squadron: Rebel strike

edit:
