Prayer request for my mother for her trip to Taiwan.

Postby Omega Amen » Sun Nov 14, 2004 10:32 am

Early tomorrow morning, November 15th, my mother will go on a series of flights to Taiwan where she will stay for a few months. She will be there to see and take care of her ailing mother who might not live for long considering her poor health condition.

My mother will probably return home March 7th of next year. Her return date might change depending on certain circumstances, but she will definitely not be home during the winter/Christmas break.

I am requesting that during your prayer time that you please ask that my mother have a safe flight to Taiwan, a safe stay there, and a safe return home. Anyone who knows me realizes that my parents mean a lot to me. So if any of you can spare the time to pray on this subject, I will greatly appreciate it.

I will pray. Also I agree, parents are very important. Hope your mother has a safe trip to and from Taiwan.

I'll pray for a safe journey and a meaningful visit. Sounds like she's going to be away for a relatively long time.

Okay, here is an update.

On the 16th, this past Tuesday, my mother arrived safely in Taiwan and seemed fine. So now I hope her stay is safe, and she will arrive back safely.

I will gladly pray.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

My mother returned safely March 7th. I have not given this update earlier since I was extremely busy with school work for the past two weeks, and this weekend my parents visited me. My only concern now is that my mother should eat more since she looked really thin, even bony.

Thank you for your prayers.

That is wonderful to hear, Omega. Praise God for keeping your mother safe. ^__^

Perhaps your mother was stressed out or just happened to eat less in Taiwan? I hope she gets back to her normal self physically soon. God bless and thanks for the update!

Sorry I did not see this thread earlier. I am glad your mother had a safe trip. And a good one, too, I hope?

Yes, she had a lot of stress, and she worked for long hours every single day, which probably meant she did not eat that much.

She did what she was asked to do. She might have to go back sometime in the near future depending on certain events.
