This guy wants to ban anime because it's an evil, perverse thing.

Talk about anything in here.

That would be HO2, thought, right? EDIT: No wait, I read that wrong. That would work to. Either one would work - and I think both have been traveling around the net.

Before i puyt my ops on this in chem class we had to sign a petition against dihydorgen monoxide! There was this huge long list of dangers of it and how it is everywhere, and it can cause injury like burns, and death (by drowning)

LOL the WHOLE class thought it was real.. and we all signed the petition, becuase you know carbon monoxide is bad.. so we thought this was related.. but the next day my chem teacher tells us that it was a fake and that dihydrogen monoxide was really water.. she just wanted to show us some of the prefixes that some chemical formulas have... we all felt really stupid...

anyways... about his petition thing.. yah it seems fake.. i mean ppl going to jail for reading and watching anime... *cute/scared chibi face* i dont wanna go to jail... this is dumb.. seriously.. ban anime just because of a few animes that aren't great?? I am sounding repetitive here.. but c'mon.. thats like banning every single person in the U.S for sinning.. wh we be then? (in the middle of the ocean that's where we would be..)

And who says that people under 18 aren't capable of love? My parents met when they were 16 and they have been married for 23 years this year!

I agree that some anime isn't good...but i dont watch those animes.. i won't even touch them... so it isn't like all anime fans indulge in some of the topics seen on the shows..

I watch violent animes like Trigun, and Kenshin.. but i am not gonna go out and kill people because of it..

I watch sci fi anime but i am not gonna go out and try to fly a spaceship and blow up things...

I watch fantasy anime but i am not gonna go out and try to slay a dragon either...

Besides... who says anime can't be used to reach the lost? I know this site, and another (advertised in my sig) are really pushing for christian anime/manga and i am too!

There will be a day, when anime isn't all secular... it will eventually become something that christians can watch and enjoy knowing that there is a Godly message involved..

Well... i am sure long winded..LOL...sry

i am finished.. i am sorry i just took up an hour of your life.. :eh: :bootout:

Ryan, this is all so sudden!

He he he, thank you.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

It seems like they didn't do a good job as someone else could have done at getting there point across. They mention Japan as evil and President Bush has gone there before! They also use the example of a girl under 18 kissing. Most people have there first kiss under 18 from what I have heard. If this was a mock petition for a school project or something they probably would have gotten kind of a bad grade.

CHECK IT out, I thought this was nuts but then I saw the E-mail address on the bottom disclaimer, neko332@rogers.com, neko is Japanese for cat. And the website Artifice Inc, has a (change to japanese) button on the upper right hand corner, and it is a 3-d design company! Somethings up here, I don't know what it is... but I might drop em an E-mail just to give em a piece a me mind.

Here's a better question: does he care at all? This is the kind of person who'd have run the McCarthy Hearings in the 1950s. I suppose back then anime would have been communist subversion as well.

I recall that ANN covered this a few months back. They concluded it was a joke. Unfortunately, the joke counter petition decided to bash religious extremism.

You have to be careful what you read out there. There is a site that is made up to look like a site for an extremely conservative fundamentalist church, that is actually set up to mock fundamentalism (headlines came off looking like they came from The Onion or something) and did an article calling Pokemon satanic. The sad part was many anime fans thought it was real...

Well yea. It's NOT a sin, but Paul said "it is good for a man not to touch a woman", It's not a bad thing, of course not. But a lot of people take kissing as something on a Higher Sexual Level. Some people just plain go all out LUST-ful when they kiss.

Something romantic, sweet, or loving is fine.

Agreed. Something like a gentle kiss would be considered love, a hug is also love.

off the topic, the media today has made love turned into lust, when love should be like a parents love, friendship and other-person centered.

Back on topic:

It's a shame how negative people try so hard to prove a point, and sometimes they have no idea what they're talking about and they could be hurting someone emotionally, mentally, physically, or for the most, spiritually.

I would have to say the White House gets enough letters from people who don't know anything about what they are writing about or just are in LA LA Land. My brother's brother in law was a total "Rainman" and would send letters and call people on the phone for some stupid reason. There was many a lawenforcement agency that appeared at his door.

Brief stray onto topic: Man, more people are going to come on not realizing this is a joke and say how offensive this guy is and say why didn't he watch such-and-such and how can he do that. I think this thread should be locked.

[quote="Kokoro Daisuke"]>>]

nope... It's just Volt's personal decission, and more power to him! It's not mine though... I will likely kiss once I've been cuddling for a year... Hahahahaha... Ok, so I'm probably the only one who's gonna laugh at that...

Nuku-nuku (ooh... it all comes around in a circle)

I like to nuku-nuku! (onomatopoeaic word that is the sound a cat makes when it rubs it head on someone... I didn't realize it made a sound, but it must just be Japanese cats that do) I say it goes in a circle, because that was a thing with my X, the one who first called me "bobtheduck"

Let's change this topic to Nuku-nukuing and movie it to goof off! Nuku nuku is a much more interesting subject... The act, not the anime.. The anime is actually, I realize now that I'm a bit older, rather subpar, though I will forever picture Megumi Hayashibara as a robotic catgirl now. Her voice just sounds "catlike" to me... As does the voice of Luna, but not Artemis... Artemis sounds human to me... I like Artemis. Luna's a brat, but Artemis is cool. These are all good topics, guys, just step in at any time.

So this guy walks into a bar... It really hurt, he was hunched over for like 10 minutes.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evcNPfZlrZs Watch this movie なう。 It's legal, free... And it's more than its premise. It's not saying Fast Food is good food. Just watch it.

As in everything else, I'm sure it depends on the couple. If that leads to the temptation of doing more ...

On the other hand, as someone observed to me, physical commitment should proceed along the same lines as emotional commitment. The fullest emotional commitment never occurs until your wedding day -- thus the obvious with physical commitment. However, there are gradations until then. Ignoring well-recognized absolutes like the bikini rule, I think it would be very hard to make a blanket statement about it, because different couples have different insulations against physical temptation.

Boy, this is off-topic, but if people want to talk about it, it could move to a new thread.

You know what really bothers me about the person who wrote this petition? He calls himself a Christian, and yet he is blatantly prejudiced against the Japanese people. Come on...Being Japanese is not a sin! O.o He calls it the "dark land of Japan.." Please. And the penalty he thought up? About being imprisoned if someone had anime in their posession? Ugh! -_- He also mentioned that the "Japanese filth (Whaa..?)" is corrupting our so-called beautiful nation. Last time I checked, America seemed to be an equivalent of Sodom and Gomorrah (sp?). Yeah, our nation is currently anything BUT beautiful in some places. I mean, he speaks of anime as if it was the only crude form of animation out there...I'd love to see his thoughts on Family Guy (yeah, speaking of crude and disgusting, right?). I hope that poor Mr. Bush doesn't have to have his retinas burned with that petition...He's got way too much on his plate right now to be bothered with some pathetic petition like that...-_- (Shakes head...)
