Zelda2005

OK... it seems official now. The Legend of Zelda (Tenative Title) to come out for the Gamecube 2005, is coming out June First. It has been rumored that it will be one of two things:

1) the Sequel to Windwaker

2) The third in the Ocarina Series (Ocarina of Time & Majora's Mask)

It is undoubyably the best looking 3-D Zelda game, and the most groundbreaking (Link fighting on horseback!)

There has been released a second trailer very recently on Gametrailers.com

http://www.gametrailers.com/gamepage.php?id=641

[LINK FIGHTS WITH A GORON!!! :wow!: ]

that shows much of what this game will be... more dark than any other game! Link is older in this game than he has ever been in any other game (Excluding Oni Link in MM) and as such the game also takes on an older feel. It will be undoubtably rated at least T by ESRB...

I think this game will do to the Zelda series what ZELDA V (Ocarina of Time) did... attract many new fans!

If the previews are any indication of what this game will be like... Zelda Fans... we are about to have the thrill of our lives! :thumb:

I HOPE it`s a whole new game. While I`m not a fan of Zelda this game looks pretty good and I dislike the story line to Windwaker. I also dislike how every Zelda game it seems like Link is a new person.

I thought Majoras Mask was a sequel to Zelda 64....? Well ,that`s just me.

The new Zelda game I heard is the first of a seriesof its own and I heard there`s a slim chance he might have a voice. This is just one of those games I`ll play over my friens house because I don`t have a Gamecube.

It can't be a sequel to Wind Waker because that's a couple hundred years in the future of the Zelda 64 timeline and most of the Hyrule world is under the ocean.

kk... here's the gist...

1) Yes, Majora's Mask is a sequel to Ocarina of Time (Zelda 64)

It can't be a sequel to Wind Waker because that's a couple hundred years in the future of the Zelda 64 timeline and most of the Hyrule world is under the ocean.

2) it CAN be a sequel to Windwaker because at the end of Windwaker (if you beat it... if not i hope this doesn't spoil anything!) the Koroks planted the seeds of the forest that would grow and make a forest to cover the ocean... or something like that. anyway... the new zelda might possibly be the result of the plantage of the seeds.

but transitioning from cellshaded to notcellshaded may seem weird. If they wanted a real sequel to WW it would be cellshaded as well, or so me thinks

im leaning towards either new game or sequal to the ocarina of time series

Not necessarily... there is a quote by miyamoto i read somwhere... ill have to find it then post it... but from my knowledge he he said something along the lines of

"i wanted to show the world of kid link through his eyes... with the cel-shaded world... very cartoony... but with this older link i wanted to show a more serious world"

and i think it makes sense... just because a certain game comes after another in sequence doesnt mean that the graphics must be the same... the longrunning Zelda series is proof of this... the graphics certainly do not remain the same game to game... as the bettering of graphics from game to game til widwaker took as step back in graphics (from an attempt to be realistic graphics) to a more cartoonish look. This new Zelda is a step onward to better more realistic graphics...

in a more serious and "dark" game... Cel-Shading would just not be appropriate at all... Cel shading gives an entierly different mood (joy and youth) than the new graphics (more mature, serious, and intense).

Graphics do not = Sequel

Well, it's deffinately not a sequel to The Wind Waker, because it's back in Hyrule.

who said it was supposed to be in Hyrule??? just cause there is a castle and gorons doesnt mean that it is in hyrule... though now that i think about it... both the presence of Gohma, the Gorons and the presense of horses do point more to a sequal to Ocarina than anything else

they could have built another castle...

who said it was Hyrule?

This one looks like fun. I'm looking forward to the graphical change, even though I loved Wind Waker's cel shading.
Side Note: I love how Link wears chainmail under his tunic in this game. He looks like a full-blown warrior now. ^^
