I was really looking forward to this Keynote speech. Iwata made some interesting announcements about Online, the DS, and Revolution. Did this turn any heads?

Hurray! I read that a while back on Gamespot. Nintendo jams up the gaming world. I can't wait! I really hope the launch isn't as bland as the GameCube's.

Gimme a new Mario!!!

The Genesis had online capability? First I've heard of it...

I love the idea of the DS being online. I like even more the fact that it won't cost a monthly subscription! Mmmm Mario Kart DS with 16 people worldwide... I can't wait to start playing.

Yes, DS online will definitely be a plus. I just wonder if it can be accessed from home. Also, I have very high hopes for Revolution.

Nintendos always in the "play together in the same room" mentality, but this is a major step for the old school company.
There getting a tad but too conservetive for my tastes >> , they need to step up in online developement and stop caring about wheather gamers are in the same room xD

This is awsome though, DS online has no limits=D

Though I have doupts on the Revolutions online capabilitys.

EDIT: Holey Moley! WIFI the Revolution?! sweet!!

yes, wifi Rev out of the box. Which also makes the DS - Rev connection much easier (Read no cables to buy)

And I think the Famicom had a modem.. for some reason.

No won out over the other reasons because
A: it's going to be a while before I get a DS, if I get a DS
B: Wifi requires broadband, which is not available out here in the sticks (without shelling out serious money for satelite internet)

However, I think it is a good move for Nintendo. The number two thing people have been griping about Nintendo is the lack of online games. It shall prove very interesting to see how thier online services and games pan out.

PS I don't know about the Famcom, but the Genesis had the X-band modem accessory, but I think it came out too late in the cyle and too early in the life of the internet to make very much impact.

I think you can buy a wireless card and use Window's connection sharing too :x

But yeah, good point.
