I am Thankful to the Lord Today Because...

Postby DanekJovax » Sat Sep 20, 2003 6:40 pm

...I have found this Christian Anime Alliance to express many things that have been bottled up in me for years.

I thank the Lord for Ashley for opening a little of herself in starting this website, and allowing us a place of e-fellowship, debate, discussion, and whole-hearted humor and expression in one of our great passions - anime.

That's all I have to say. If anyone else feels thankful for anything... ANYTHING... just put it in here if you'd like to share it with the rest of us.

Jeremiah 30:19
From them will come songs of thanksgiving and the sound of rejoicing. I will add to their numbers, and they will not be decreased; I will bring them honor, and they will not be disdained.

Colossians 3:17
And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

To all of those who mentioned me/this site, to God be the glory. I'm honored you'd mention me.

Today I'm thankful I made it home without hydroplaning (it was 10:30 at night and raining hard). And that the other waitress made it to work; for 2 hours I was alone...on a saturday night. O_O

And of course, I'm very thankful I'm able to drive and was blessed with a good car.

People who write below their abilities in order to crank out tons of books and make a buck. Especially Christian authors who do that. Outsiders judge us for it, and make fun of us for it, and it makes Jesus look bad. We of all artists on earth should be the most concerned with doing our best possible work at all times. We of all people should write with all our hearts, as if writing for the Lord and not for men.

I thank Kamai-sama (God) for-

My house, husband, daughter and other family and friends,

That I've not had a seizure in 5 years and my partial seizures are being lessened.

Thank you for the bravery to stay at my house for a week and sleeping soundly (which is a rarity)

I thank you that you have lead me here to this place that I feel I belong.

And the most important "Thank you" of all

Thank you God for manifesting yourself into a man, your Son, Jesus to Die on the Cross that I may be forgiven and have eternal life to worship you.

In Jesus' Name I Pray, Amen!

I am thankful for the peaceful land in that I live and pray the war-stricken countries will find a place to stop one day soon.

I am thankful for the shelter provided for me, and the food which graces me daily for there are those who have neither.

I am thankful for a wonderful fiancé whom I grow to love more and more daily through Him. I am even more thankful my fiancé is also my soulmate, the man who He has blessed my life with.

I am thankful for family and friends - without them I wouldn't be who I am today and tomorrow.

I am thankful for an old, fat tabby that is trying to make me feel better while I'm sick. *~_~*

I am thankful that God's hand is upon my life and that the Holy Spirit is guiding me and teaching me everyday. I am thankful that I am worth something to God--regardless of how I look or how much I weigh..worth enough to die for, in fact. I am thankful to God for having so much patience with me and for leading me to a church where his presence is felt so keenly. I thank Him for delivering me from the Spirit of Fear and panic attacks..for providing for my needs.I am grateful to the Lord for giving me this computer! AND for leading me to CAA. I am grateful that he has reawakened my talents and gifts that had been dormant for years and is allowing me to use them for His glory.

I want to be the adult I once (in my childhood) longed to be.
I go on fighting against the heart to run away...
I go on fighting against that invisible something!"

I am thankful of the Lord's Love between my wife and I being greater than the times when I don't feel like liking her because she drives me nuts at times.

I also am thankful that the Lord has given me the health and strength that I have so I can do the physical work that is needed around the house (read: remodeling).

I am also thankful to the Lord that He has given us a time to rest, the Sabbath... Sunday... whatever day you designate for resting. We all need it or we all burn out all too soon.

Related to my post in the "Guess what?" thread, I'm thankful for each day that the Lord gives us to use for His glory. (And on a side note, I'm thankful that each day that goes by is yet another step closer to His return.)

Hmm, I've tried to make this my attitude for my life:

"You know I haven't had the best of days
But I want to stop and thank You anyway.

"Cuz every single moment whether sleeping or awake
Is your creation
And what you've made is good
I don't always thank you for the rough days and
the hard times in my life
Even though I should."
-The OC Supertones, "Jury Duty"

I thought that was good.

I am thnkful to the Lord to day for filling me with the Holy Spirit last week, convicting me to change my ways and follow him.

I am thankful to the Lord today that I have a renewed passion for him and ministry.

I thank God that I can worship him in a God loving environment, wherew I can feel his presence, and my government doesn't persecute me.

I am thanful for Millyfan^^ for bringing me to this website and....

I think I was quite rude the last time she wrote on the otakuboards, If you were offended Millyfan, then please take my sincerest apologies. My life now exists to love and serve Jesus in all I do, and that includes reconciling with those I have wronged.

Free from bisexual thoughts, porn and all the other satanic nonsense. Life is so much more fulfilling with the living God at your side ^^

oh yeah, and I fell in love with a cool girl! life rocks!

I'm thankful to the Lord for showing me how my weaknesses can become my strength

....for changing this hobby that used to separate me from Him, to one that draws me even closer to Him.

....for leading me to use the talents He gave me to glorify His name

....for loving me for who I am and having confidence in me, even when I don't feel worthy and capable

....for giving me wonderful and supportive parents, friends and boyfriend.

....and finally, (even if it can be a painful process), for pruning me so that I can yield more Fruit of the Spirit....

There's lots more but these are the main ones for CAA. ;)

Postby Mave » Tue Aug 10, 2004 10:03 pm

wow...this sure fell back a long way.

Ok, shoot me for gravedigging but I have things to shout out in a spirit of thankfulness. So I went searching for this thread.

Ephesians 5
19Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, 20always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Thank you God for giving me the ability to draw. I love drawing, I love creating new stuff, I love writing stories. I love bishies. You know, how happy I feel being able to do this. Thank you thank you thank you. XD XD

Thank you for setting me free from my personal struggles with sin. I'll never forget that 3-day intense battle that ended victoriously. I'll never forget that day when I was set free from that heavy curse. Every now and then, even when the temptation returns, I fall back on you to protect me and I know you help me through it. I know you'll be with me till the end. Thank you, my Lord. *sniff*

Thank you God for church. It's hard to believe this but I love the new things I learn about you each time. Last week's sermon left me in awe of You. I can't believe You did what You did. Your Grace and Love are AMAZING. I don't deserve it but I shall sing praises.

Thank you God for carrying me through the toughest times in graduate school. I cried many tears earlier this year and faced many disappointments. You saw me through it, You gave me hope and guidance. Thank you God. I don't know what I'll do without You.

Thank you for Christian rock. It's cool and nice to hear encouraging words in such a music form.

Hope nobody thinks I'm nuts but I wish I could glomp Jesus physically right now.

Shout out your thanks and praises to our Lord, everyone!

I'm thankful that you resurrected this thread, Mave. It's cool to go back and read what people are thankful for... it makes me more mindful of my blessings.

I'm still thankful for my awesome hubby.

I'm thankful that God created us all with so many different talents and abilities.

I'm thankful for a roof over my head, and food to eat, and people to share them with.

I'm thankful for all the ideas rolling around in my head, and for the time to pursue some of them.

I'm thankful for good friends -- the kind that take the time to really know you, but love you anyway. :)

Most of all I'm thankful to God, without whom none of these things would matter a whit in the long run.

I'm thankful for the people in my life who have been there for me through everything and have helped me countless times whether they knew they were helping me or not.

I'm thankful for the small things in life that make me happy. Like waking up this morning and finding that my cat was taking up part of the bed space and being able to pet him. And like finding your favorite candy bar, bought by your dad, has been put in your lunch by your mom. ^_^

I'm especially thankful for the Lord, who has been continually showing his presence to me through the smallest of things, yet totally neat things. Like practically tearing my room apart to find something, giving up and finally praying to find it, and all the sudden remembering where I left it.

The choice has been made. There's no looking back. I won't let up, back up, give up, or shut up. My focus clear. My path is straight. My God, reliable. I'm a disciple of Christ.

Gods plan is like the sun. its too big and bright to look at directly, and sometimes the rain clouds cover it, but sometimes the plan dapples through the clouds and we can see beautiful glimpses of what he has in store for us.

*grateful sigh*
I thank God that He has protected me against every oncoming attack Satan has thrown my way!!!!!

Romans 8:1 : There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone
And so hold on when there is nothing left in you
Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!' ...you'll be a Man, my son!

I thank God for...

the loving friends and family he's brought into my life,

providing me with the money for college when I thought we'd come up short,

for blessing me with a new method of transportation when it was most needed,

helping me get back my net connection instead of having to go buy a new ethernet card,

for giving me a solution to a very tough school situation,

and for simply bringing a bit of much-needed joy.

That's the list for now. I feel like God has been working overtime in my life recently, and I couldn't be happier know how much He loves me. And blessings to everyone here at CAA, another thing for which I'm thankful for. ^-^
