Guuuh i don't like school

Postby Mr. SmartyPants » Fri Mar 04, 2005 11:58 am

I don't like school. Now the classes, studying, and homework. Im all fine with that. It's the students that make my time at school a bad experience. It's an All guys school, you do the math. I hear (and sometimes get) tons and tons of nasty, perverted remarks with lil 16 year old immature kids going around saying "I did your MOM last night" and even in some classes, they even say remarks beyond that. There's swearing and bad language. My catholic school doesn't feel so catholic anymore... =(

then you have plain immature people throwing papers around in class and stuff and constantly talking

gah... for once in my life im considering like... homeschooling or something, but that transition from school to homeschool would be EXTREMELY difficult...

Sorry Dude :( i guess thats one of the reasons i like being homeschooled ( and one of the reasons my parents homeschool me) its cool, but you can slack off reeeeaaaallly easy and that part i hate. But anyways yeah it would most likely be a difficult change ( school to homeschool)

God Bless! *hug* ( you sound like you could use one)

Ah, let me put it this way.

I can understand how school can get to people. But you have to remember something, your in high school and things like this are going to happen. Not everyone is on the same level as trying to act their age. Even going to college, you can run into people that still don't know how to act their age or act like a grown up.

Just look at this way, your at an age that I wish I could have another go at it. That is age that you learn and grow, before you have to set out in the world. Just don't let those people get to you and enjoy your years that you have in high school.

Yeah, my boyfriend goes to an all boys' Catholic school too (coincidently...most of the students that attend there are from...your state, Maryland...) and some of the things he tells me about the school is far from Christian behaviour. You have my sympathy in having to deal with that everyday.

I'm actually home educated, but I've never been to a public/private school before so I really can not compare or share any experience about the transition of changing from one to the other. If school is getting you so down, though, it might be something at least you may want to look into with a lot of prayer and thought. There are many advantages to being home educated...but I'm sure it is quite a big change from going to a school everyday.

I hear yah. Even in college, you hear guys commenting how hot a certain girl is or some other perverted or nasty talk.

Just stay faithful to God and don't conform to that.

You uh, trying to imply somethin'?

At any rate...

Not many people who go to a Catholic school are Catholic. Indeed, I think it turns many people off to the faith. There's a quote from Dogma where the main character says,

"I think that God is dead."

Her coworker responds:

"Ah. The sign of a true Catholic."

Other than that...um, I can't think of anything important to say. ^^;;

All I can say is that it does get better. Granted, it gets worse too. In the later years of high school, the bad get 'badder', and the good get 'gooder' (excuse the poor English), if you take my meaning. That's the way it was in my Christian school. My advice is to try to ignore the bad comments, and let your life shine God's goodness and love. While you may not think that people will notice or anything, trust me they do. Even if they rip you off about it, know tat God is using people like you to show them what He is really like.

My advice concerning homeschool is to not do it. While it may be nice and sheltered during your school years, you will only find it harder when you leave school and go out into the work environment.

Anyway, i hope that helped ;)

LOL, although I'm home educated, I totally understand where you're coming from. Whenever I have to go to a home schooled function, conference or whatnot I look at the kids and think..."Good gravy, how are they going to make it in the real world once they're out of the shelter of their home?" Sometimes it really worries me about how sheltered some of the home schooled kids are.

I was pretty sheltered up until the age of 14...I'm not sure what happened after that...but I really doubt too many people would call me a "sheltered home schooled child" now (In fact it surprises many that I have been home educated all my life)...but it was nice when I was a child...to have that sheltered atmosphere because then you can just enjoy your childhood with childlike innocence, as it should be. But, once you get older...I think it is important to be exposed to different things in order to 1) be prepared to defend your faith and 2) to know what to guard yourself against .

My brother went to a private, christian school, and he found it really hard there. One of the causes could've been that in NZ you can either spend years 7 & 8 at an intermediate school, or in some schools you spend those two years at your primary school (first school), and in other cases the college (that's high school, in NZ) takes the 7 & 8 year students as well as the older ones. The college/high school my brother went to was one that started with 7 & 8 years, but as he spent those two years at an intermediate school, he was starting a new school with people who had already paired up and made friends etc so it was really hard. So I hope your experience only gets better. My brother ended up changing schools at the end of the year, but I hope yours isn't so bad.

I do school by correspondence, through mail, which I think is similar to homeschooling... but I'm not exactly sure how close. Anyway, yes, I agree that turning to homeschooling from school is a hard thing to do; you'd either need heaps of self-discipline or someone who's really good at keeping you on track. It is possible, if things at school get really tough, but hard.

I hope things just get better for you!

I guess really, what I was trying to say or try to say in better words then some people don't act their age is.

In high school and college, you will run into alot of people that will be marture and then you have those that will be immature.

Hmm, I was homeschooled,
Those were the greatest days of my life, because of it I was able to go to college early. Back then though, the college I went to was full of very mature good people. A great enviroment for learning and contemplation. After entering ASU though life changed back to being less enjoyable. I realised that all of the annoying, low, immature people that I heard were in high schools eventaully came to college where they spent their parents last resources on parties, beer, sex and drugs... In fact before going to ASU I never heard of drugs being discussed publicly. Coincidently the people that are doing these sorts of things also happen to be the greatest opponents I met against homeschooling. But most flunk out and vanish into the weed out proccess. However some never do vanish, and its a pain in the neck dealing with them. As for the work force, being a physicist gives me one of the coolest jobs in the world, my work is to decrypt the God's code of the universe, and I get to work with other "geeks" like myself, and, as we all hate group work I don't have to deal with any of these downsides of group activities. Anyone trying to organize us into a group would find it very difficult as all members would simultaneously disband by choice :) (esspecially among theorists) sweet! umm oh yeah what was my point, go home, enjoy your family before you go off to college, learn more and never deal with ugly teachers again. Viva de homeschool revolution!

I look at the situation and the main problem I see is the obvious...it's a catholic school. Like some people have said, it turns some people off of the faith.

Unfortunately, it's hard to get experience with all the different types of schools: Private, Public, or homeschool. I, always have attended public, support public schools over private or homeschool. To me, I see more advantages. I wish I had attended a year at each of the others just to be able to compare.

But yeah, majority of the people I have talked to, been around, etc, that have been from or were currently attending a private christian school were stuck up or hypocrites. Not all, but most. At least through my eyes.

Life can be so tough. Sometimes tears are the only remedy for me. I don't know about anyone else, but for me, talking with someone usually helps^^ So if there is someone who is having a hard time coping with life, please don't hesitate to tell someone~
Always remember, there is God who loves you and there is at least one other person as well~

Unfortunately it's not much better anywhere else. Especially in *certain* schools *coughLakewood Ranch Highcough* . But chances are you're not alone. Search for those people who AREN'T immature perverts and I know you'll find them. And it doesn't last forever...just until about age 50 XD and even then....but you aren't alone. You're in my prayers! here's hoping you find more mature persons who can help make life in the jungle a bit easier for ya.

schools tuff I should know now starting colledge this brings the tally to 10 diffrent schools I even went to an private baptist school for a year.

The thing you got to relize is that in every school there are punks. I delt with them my whole life really I got through school with a small group of 3 friends. No matter were you go evry one seems to curse now. This dosnt mean we christiands should curse or drink like them though we have a example to show and Ill tell you now if they know that you dont do the same trash as they do or that you dont dirty your mouth with wrong they work twice as hard to get you to do it before Highshool I had an uncotrollable temper I just broke couldnt take the children being rude to teachers cursing spitting in my hair constanly getting made fun of I fought almost every day since 1st grade maybe not every day but I did fight alot. It dosnt help they use to say stand up to bullys but it does not make a diffrence. Yet now with a morer christian view on things I have alot more control not to say after hafe a year I may blow up at someone. Right now I just try not to associate with people that way I never get to know people they dont know me and no fights Dont be like me.
