I've never liked using the word "hot" when describing girls. It really makes it sound like lust.

Ummmm... okay then. ..

You know you guys are the best! I really wish the guys I knew were more like the ones from here!! Kewl Girl runs around and hugs each and every one of them
I used to think all guys were a buch of jerks, and that none of them even cared about girls opinions... but after hearing all of you guys, I think Ive changed my opinion.. maybe their are some nice guys out there after all !!

Thanks to the media, the general idea is that all guys are sex-crazed idiots, and all women are evil.

FIGHT THE..Media. Or something. That was supposed to sound all revolutionary and such. Guess not.

Anyway, guys: don't forget that there are nice girls.
Girls: don't forget that there are nice guys.
Imapct: don't forget to throw baby.

ROFL - That's so cool, Volt.

You know, I'm very tempted to get out my fabric paints and buy a blank shirt...

Seriously, though - I agree with Impact Alberto's advice. I'll just do my best to remember that there are nice guys around. Actually, it's not hard. You CAA guys are awesome (girls too but lets focus on the guys right now :) ) and I have seen so many things that are admirable and good in so many of you (haven't met everyone yet). There ARE good guys around - and you just re-enforce that. :thumb: . You rock, guys.

The answer seems simpler to me than perhaps it is. Women have learned that men be nice to them to get soomething in return, ie their love. They're trying to impress the girls and by doing that they're being manipulative. Women dont like manippulative guys. I'm not saying all guys do this, but it does seem like alot do. Therefore the jerks who dont be nice to girls seem to be being genuine, at least at first. As you have gone out with one of these guys mobilesuitpilot perhaps you can give a better answer to your own question than i can. ]
Iagree completely. ALWAYS be friends first and find out what they're like on the inside. What their heart is like. Too many relationships end because the romantic passion is gone. If you're friends first that will take you through the periods of time when there isnt any romantic passion there at all.
That paragraph right there...goes onto the list of the "Top 20 Most Intelligent Things I've Ever Heard"

You are SO right, Kura. I know from experience. You can't last forever off of passion or attraction, not even both. That only goes so far. It's good to be FRIENDS first (I promise you, trust me) so that when the new fades and you've both been stripped down to your bare soul, seen each other's faults and ugly side, you have something left.
Thanks I've learned that it's best to be friends first from experience too :)

i want those shirts!.... ehhh... that would run into complications!

If I wore the yellow shirt in school:
Guy: "Dude... are you gay?"
Me: "No... why?"
Guy: "Why would you have a huisband"
Me: "Oh this shirt? I don't know..."
Guy: "....... whatever, you're gay"
Me: "uh.... ookkaaayyy"

If I wore the blue shurt in school
Guy: "Dude WHY would we want to hit on YOU?"
Me: "uh... because you want to be castrated?"
Guy: "....."
Me: "....."

If I wore the white shirt to school to school
Guy: "dude, whats an 'Orchlectomy'?"
Me: "I don't know... but it sounds like fun..."

A couple of observations from my many years of being a very ineffective dater:

Looks do matter. To everyone. Many of us spend a lot of time trying to convince ourselves otherwise, but looks still do matter. Face it, when you first meet someone, you have precious little to form an opinion about that person. Our minds struggle to classify and order everything we perceive about the world around us so it all makes sense. So, first impressions are almost entirely driven by looks and whatever the first statement out of the other person's mouth is. The more you get to know a person, the better your mind will be at classifying that person, which will lessen the impact of simple physical attraction. Many of you may not seek out the most attractive people to date or spend time with, but I bet it also takes longer to make friends with people who are extremely unattractive as well. I know this will not be a popular opinion, but if you search your own heart and find out where you really are instead of where you want to be or think you should be, you will be better equipped to handle your own very natural tendency to favor what you find attractive.

Also, about boys and girls being "just friends." We really aren't wired that way - especially males but females, too. The closer you become, the more likely it is that one of you wants a different type of relationship. There are exceptions, but they are rare. It is especially difficult to start this kind of relationship in the teenage years and before you are married. And it is unwise to start one after you are married.

Finally, I think if we all got together in a big room, you’d find we are not so different from the people you meet in real life. We have the security of anonymity as well as the ability to give more thought to what we type then we normally can to what we say. I would hope that we would have more in the “nice guyâ€

Perhaps youre right... :) ., but most of the guys that I do have as friends arent really 'cute' at all, and I find it easier for me to get along with boys who arent 'cute' by the worlds standards. But then again maybe Im just wierd that way...

it is not the gift from God that is evil, it is the way that the sin nature warps that gift, look at music for example, music can be very enjoyable and pleasing to God, but when it gets twisted and used for the benefit of its maker then it is basically an abomination, a perversion of what God originally intended for us to have

Woah...how'd I miss this thread before!

Basically, AMEN to everything all of ya'll guys (and girls) have said!
I can't understand, nor want to understand, why guys are always after girls for their looks. Sure, I like a pretty girl just as much as the next guy, but I never take it beyond that. I just see them as a cute or pretty person and then focus on what's inside.
I find that people are much more enjoyable that way. Pretty much all the girls I'm around are quite average looking, but that just makes things easier. I don't even have to struggle with gettin past their looks and instead can get to know them as who they are.
If we all did this (a near impossiblility, I know) think of how much cleaner and enjoyable our society would be. I say BOO to lust, and DOWN with "hot"!!

In my life I ALWAYS think about them above all things and how they must feel. Even the girls who do things like that solely for attention must still feel a little hurt (maybe...purely hypothetical) So I try to lift them up inside and make them feel good about who they are, that they don't need to try to be something different.
I know that I'm only 14 and just entering the real world...but I really hope that this helps me get a jumpstart on things! ^^d

That's big problem. Ever since the dark side of the feminist movement happened, men have been sent conflicting messages as to what they should do. If they don't open the door for a lady, he's incosiderate. If he does, he's patronizing.

*rolls eyes as well* gotta love the feminazis.

personally, i really appreciate it and always say thank you when anyone holds a door open for me, especially since my major (architecture) requires me to lug around lots of very large things that make it hard to get through doors. and when i have free hands, if someone is behind me, i hold the door open for them. that's what i was brought up to do. and i must live in a nicer region of people, since significantly more people here hold doors open than don't.

i don't remember where i heard it, but i'm a fan of the saying - 'beauty is as beauty does.' i think that sums up things very well. beauty, as any gift from God can be twisted and exploited and turned into a very ugly thing. but should be appreciated as a gift.

But I don’t form an opinion. Anyway, I can tell a lot from their eyes and body language.
