Awesome bands that seemingly nobody knows.

For all the music-lovers out there, this is your place to swap lyrics, talk about new bands and jazz about concerts. All things related to the audio world belong here.

I personally suggest:

Broken Social Scene
Mae
Planes Mistaken for Stars
Arcade Fire
godspeed you black emperor
Mogwai
Anberlin

I've got to second Mae, Arcade Fire, and Anberlin. All of those are fantastic. I can't wait until Mae's The Everglow comes out at the end of next month, and Anberlin's new record is great, great stuff.

That's really cool Vash...Some more bands that I thought of that not many people know about but are good are...

Argyle Park.
Klank.

Argyle Park from what I've heard was supposed to be one of the best industrail CD's ever created...But I don't think that it is...The guy Klay Scott who made most of it is better in Circle Of Dust and Celldweller. Klank was also a part of Argyle Park.

Oh, so many, so little space...

eels: Sort of like a more rock and roll version of Beck. Depressed, but entertaining and inventive
The Apples (in stereo): Well, anyone who likes The Powerpuff Girls has heard one of their songs ("Signal in the Sky"), but there's a lot more retro-indie rock where that came from.
Super Furry Animals: Nowhere near as cutsy as the name sounds, these Welsh guys are about the closest thing to a classic Brit-pop band still in business.
Thee 50's High Teens: Japanese girls pounding out garage band rock. If The 5.6.7.8.s took a few music lessons, they'd sound like this.
The Advantage: Short, sweet versions of video game soundtracks. Fun, fun stuff.
The Spiders: These guys were really hot stuff in Japan around the end of the '60s.
Mando Diao: One of the manny European garage bands to get signed after The Hives made it big. They didn't get much exposure, even though they're one of the best of their breed.
The Dukes of Stratosphear: Actually '80s Brit-rockers XTC under a different name. Perfect recreations of '67 English psychedelia.
The High Dials: Harmony drenched jangle-rock, with just a touch of album-length progressive ambitions.
The Singles: A lot like The High Dials (they're on the same label), but more garage-y.
The New Pornographers: Unfortunate name, to be sure, but still one of the best indie-pop bands out there.
The Mops: One of Japan's first non-surf related rock bands. Their theme song "I'm Just a Mops" must be heard to be believed!

Are they the ones who are from Canada, or am I thinking of a different Christian punk band? I believe I've heard some of their songs, but I don't actually have any of their CDs.

Those are some names you don't hear every day. Since buying AP2's CD I've been thinking about getting the Aryle Park album as well, but I never actually got around to looking for it.

12stones.... it seems they're one of the groups fallen victum to the whole "Too-rough-for-Christian-music-but-too-Christian-for-secular-music" thing. I really like them alot, but have only resontly come to like them myself because they seemd to dark or soemthing. But when I actaully bothered to listen to some of their stuff... its really interesting. They're very neat guys. ^^

And by the way Anberlin is awesome! :3

Yes Kaori The Undecided are a Canadian punk band. Yeah you probably have heard them.

Yeah Argyle Park is supposed to be one of the best industrial CD's ever...But from what I've heard I actually like almost all the other "Argyle Park bands" like "Circle Of Dust" better...

Hmm...12Stones are pretty big Coby...At least out here they are.

And I'm not sure if I've mentioned this band already but BraveSaintSaturn is an awesome band. They are the best FIF side project/ offshoot band of them all.

Dude did you go to FIF's las concert? 'Twas awesome! (Even better because I got to go for free!)

O.O Ok...first of all someone mentioned Calibretto! Oh goodness, whoever you are, you are insanely cool. I've been a big Calibretto fan for a couple of years...heard of Harley Poe? It's Joe's new project. Great stuff.

I'm really surprised someone mentioned the Ramones...O.o I certainly wouldn't consider them a band "nobody knows," but it might just be where I live.

Also...surprised someone mentioned Flogging Molly and Dropkick Murpheys...but maybe they're just big from where I come from... >_<

I never was a big fan of Cursive...Anberlin is amazingly good and I've always thought Mae was fairly large...but either way, great band. The Arcade Fire is pretty good...if anything I'm totally in love with their name. Mogwai is also a good band if you like indie. Out here, I guess...Interpol is fairly well known too. Ok...I'll stop commenting on the bands that were mentioned. Sorry.

Um...here are some bands that I like that aren't known by too many people that I'm around...but then again the people around me don't really listen to much...>_< So...for others these bands could be big...sorry.

Say Anything's OLD stuff - Not a big fan of his new stuff.
The Honorary Title
The Faint
Ted Leo and the Pharmacists
The Futureheads
Limbeck

Fairmont
Sick of Change

Lawrence Arms
Bayside

Are you kidding? They're one of our hometown bands. The leader singer and his wife live about five houses down from one of my friends. Their song "Spirit Waltz" from Divine Invitation is on the new "Here I Am to Worship 2" CD combo.

That's cool that somebody else knows about Sup. He's cool...I mean he does a song with Project 86! Yeah I was the one who mentioned Calibretto. I'm happy to find that somebody else likes them ^_^ Yeah I haven't posted quite a few bands because they seem pretty big to me...Like, He Is Legend...I know the guys from the band "Kids In The Way" are fans of them. I completely forgot about Sick Of Change...Those guys are awesome...Here's some more cool bands that not many know of

Freeto Boat
Curb Squirrels
DBA
Ultrabeat
Virus
Slick Shoes (These guys are pretty well known but I'm putting them here anyway.)
Furthermore
Rackets And Drapes (I believe I've already said them but can't remember.)
Beloved (us) (also pretty big but still not to many know of them)
