My grandfather is dying, and We're heading to the hospital.

Hi guys.

If you could all pray for me, I'd really appreaciate it. I'm very close to my grandparents. This will be the first true, close family death I have ever experience. I'm loosing it right now just thinking about it. To an extent, I'm relieved to be crying. I've always had a hard time mourning. I try to hold back emotion. But I'm crying right now.

Please, just pray for everything.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

I'll pray for you. Hang in there. Is your grandpa saved?
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone
And so hold on when there is nothing left in you
Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!' ...you'll be a Man, my son!

I will continue to pray for you, your grandfather and your family. Also, there is no need to be afraid or ashamed to show tears. It's a natural way to release the pain we feel. Remain strong Osaka.

He died just half an hour after we arrived. I'm glad to have been there.

It was really odd. I cried for about twenty minutes after he died, and then I just. . . stopped. It was really strange. I was sorry to loose him, but I wasn't sad at his death. He was in heaven, I knew it, and I felt a peace about the whole thing. I can't really describe what happened, but it was comforting.

Please, pray for our family as we prepare for the funeral. There are some rather sorted feelings about the even (my grandfather chose to be creamated and several of family members are very upset about the choice.) Thanks for everyone who prayed.

I'm sorry for your loss, and I'm glad to hear that he was a believer. As a Christian, I know that knowledge gives you a deep peace at the core, even though your heart is hurting. How are you and your family holding up?

Osaka, I just saw this and... well there are no words. *HUG*

I'm always praying for you anyway, and know the Lord is always with you and comforting your heart through this. Feel His comfort.

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

Thank you everyone for your prayers. I really appreciate it.

The family is holding up-- hmm, as well as can be expected. We're rushing around arranging for the funeral right now.

I think one of the biggest problems at the moment is the varying means of mourning in the family. I, for one, just plan to cry my eyes out at the funeral. I've really been trying to save myself for the ordeal. I try not to really arouse my emotions the rest of the time. Really, the only way I can manage that well is by not talking about it. If I talk about it, I know I'm going to cry.

Unfortuneately, my dad is entirely different. He copes by talking about it, and he talks to us. After the funeral (which is gonna be a really emotionally draining ordeal to begin with) at the luncheon the church is having for us, my dad wants to have a story time. Atleast half of the family is really against the idea, simply because they don't think they could swallow something like that right now. I know I couldn't, but, unfortuneately, that's how he handles grief and I don't think anythings going to stop him.

Please pray for strength to handle whatever the funeral brings. As I said before, this is the first real family funeral I've had to endure. Thanks again everyone. I really appreciate all your thoughts and prayers!

I am praying for you Osaka. I knew that feeling when I lost my grandmother a long time ago. It is the circle of life, my friend and it's great that that your grandfather is in heaven, away from illness, away from all things evil, but still close to your heart.

May your strength come back to you, Osaka and your family.

Do not worry about crying, for not all tears are evil. Let it out.

Love you and God bless
