Kura Ookami's Information

Postby Kura Ookami » Sat Feb 12, 2005 1:49 am

First off I am going to copy Omega Amens who who thread and organise it in the way he has done simply because i like the way he has donw his. They do say immitation is the sincerest form ogf flattery. Of course the information will all be on me so naturally it will differ from Omega Amens whos who thread for that reason.

Second while i did create a whos who thread of my own a while back when i first joined CAA it was really more of a where am i now kind of thing and didnt have much real personal information. I felt it was best to begin a new one, that improved upon my first as much as possible.

Finally i welcome questions and I will answer as many as i can. This is your oppurtunity to ask me anything and I mean anything.
Now to start with who i am.

Identity
Name: James Clapp

Siblings:I have one younger brother, Martin. He's actually taller than me by one inch i think and he's three years my junior.

Home Residence: United Kingdom, specifically the southwest of England. I was born there as well.

Height: Approximately five feet eight inches

Weight I haven't weighed myself recently. I think I'm around 80kg, but i will update this when I've weighed myself so I'll have a more accurate answer then.

Hair Colour: My natural hair colour is dark blonde though it does get darker or lighter depending on the season i think. I will never dye or colour my hair.

Hair Style: Nothing special, but i never allow it to grow long

Eye Colour: Grey but when ive got my contacts in they look blue.

Favorate Colour: Blue, i generally like dark colours as well

"Race": Human, Both my parents were also born in England and I'm white.

Build: I've really got an average build.

Online Identity
Username: The name Kura Ookami was actually chosen for me by one of my friends who i met online and it stuck. It's meant to mean Black Wolf, but as it turns out the Japanese word for Black is Kuro. The Ookami part is correct however.

I found that out later after i started using Kura in many places online. Now I'm just so used to Kura that it doesnt matter anymore and it gives me my own unique identity online anyway although I've never met anyone with the username Kuro Ookami. Maybe i never will.

Custom User Title: This ones simple. I've changed my user title each time I changed my Avatar for those of you who noticed. The user title i felt should fit the Avatar.

Avatar: This one has changed a number of times and in view of the latest change i thought I'd list what characters ive chosen for my avatar. My first choice that i remember was souske sugara from full metal panic. Second was shuichi from gravitation, third was quatre from gundam wing, fourth was and is Eclair from kiddy grade.

Gundam Wing was the anime that got me into anime. For those not familiar with the series my Avatar is Quatre Rabarba Winner. I got the pic that I made the Avatar out of from one of Ashleys wallpapers here on this site. I believe that the wallpaper is called Quatre if you want to do a search for it. Thanks Ashley for the permission to use the pic as my Avatar. Also Quatre bears a slight resemblance to me in his looks and his personality.

Signature: This has changed alot in the past and is likely to change in the future. At the moment it is simply the CAA Clamp and sakura fanclub banner followed by several quotes and following the quotes my first and only Clow card that i have earned.

EDIT: I've changed my sig to include the address for my Xanga and put three of the quotes in bold and set them up so they're equally distant from each other.

Instant Messenging Me: I use both Msn and AIM messengers. PM me if you wish to talk with me via either one of them and I'll probably give you my screen name. This is easier because I dislike people just adding me when I don't know who they are first.

Personality
Strengths: I've always been open and honest, which has been hard sometimes. I've always believed strongly in what ive believed in even when that was not christianity. Perserverence, i wouldnt be the pacman champ if i hadnt kept on trying. Patience. And I always try to learn from my mistakes and become a better person as a result. Finally i dont hold grudges for long and forgive pretty easily.

Weaknesses: I can be pretty blunt sometimes and just say what i think instead of trying to be tactful, I'm pretty stubborn, which is usually seen as a bad thing. I tend to underestimate myself and my abilities. That's enough for now.

My pet peeves: People who are fake or phony. Whining, arrogance.

Other Notes: I'm pretty shy when it comes to first meetings. When the initial shyness is gone, however, i can be pretty talkative. I'm pretty random and just say things that are on my mind at the time.

Beliefs:
Religion: Christianity, though in the past i have researched just about every other religion out there such as Wicca and even Satanism. I accept that there are many different religions and try to respect others beliefs as much as possible.

Political: I dont really follow politics

Other: I believe that through perservering in things we succeed no matter what the subject or thing is. I think it's best to pick subhects you enjoy so that you can get some satisfaction out of actually doing the work and not just satisfaction out of completing the tasks. Having said that i admire people who work at things they don't enjoy and succeed. I have a competitive spirit though i dont like to fight much. I dont mind debating things. I believe that "tough" love works for the most part though i can be supportive when the need arises.

Heros
I'm not sure i really have any heros. There are people i admire perhaps but it's difficult to think of any heros i have.

Regrets
The fact that i didnt choose the right course in college and now i dont know what i want to do as a career.
I didnt keep in touch with my highschool friends as well as i feel i should have.
I still havent learned to drive.

Hobbies
I've loved reading most of my life. I also enjoy writing poetry and short stories when inspiration strikes. I enjoy creating my own missions in games doing everything i can to make the missions more intresting and perhaps more challenging. I love watching anime of course and spend most of my money on it. I still watch televised anime such as Beyblade

Carreer/Academic Background
Career Goal: I'm uncertain what i want to do as a career, however, i want it to be something I will enjoy doing that will challenge me.

College: I attempted a computing course. It was titled Computing and Internet technology. I didn't enjoy the course much so I did much worse than i was capable of doing.

Highschool: I got eight A-c grades in highschool. I'm not sure what my grade point average was.

Anime i enjoy alot

I usually buy rather than rent anime though i often read reviews before i buy them to find out what the animes are like so a list of anime i own would be pretty long and wont neccessarily contain animes i really like.

Noir
Escaflowne
Kiddy Grade
ZOE Dolores
Full Metal Panic
Gundam Wing
Slayers
Rune Soldier
Excel Saga
Hellsing

I always find it difficult to work out my top animes and my list does change around sometimes. There are many great animes out there so no top ten list is going to stay the same all the time anyway. What with great animes comming out all the time and all.

Manga I have read

I havent read much manga. Just a few online mangas and the first manga of Trigun and Yu yu Hakusho. That's it. I am open to reccomendations

Music that i like

I'm not a huge music person. Most of the music i listen to is either anime songs like the theme tunes of my favorate animes or anime music videos. Therefore it would be difficult to name any bands i like. Generally though i dislike hard rock and rap/hip hop.

EDIT: You know, this really makes me wonder what the character limit is.

Whoa Kura, there really isn't much left to ask now, you've pretty much covered it, I like your quotes btw.

Heres one; When did you receive Jesus Christ as you personal LORD and Saviour? Was its a 'clicking' incident or a growing into relationship, that many christians from christian household expierence?

I did wonder about your username. Thanks for clearing that up. My original guess was actually "dark great god" or "great god of darkness" although my Japanese conception of that was pretty wonky.

Quatre is my favorite Gundam pilot, too. Rock!

So, um, what do you do for fun (besides Pacman or anime)?

Heres one]

Well, i think there's really two parts to this. I'll start when i actually got saved. I was pretty much forced to go to church by my parents a long while ago. I naturally found it boring to begin with. I dont know why my parents made me go to church, they dont believe in God themselves, but eventually i began to enjoy going because i had made some friends there and we just messed around during or after the services. That soon became the only reason i went to church. To mess atound with my friends.

Still God must have had a plan for me because I actually got into the services after a while and listened to the pastor during the services and joined in with the singing too. One day I started praying and i didnt stop. I just confessed my sins. Well, i started crying uncontrollably and naturally wondered why. I felt happy so why was i crying and why couldnt i stop? The pastor answered my questions. God was washing clean my heart. When i finally did manage to stop crying the pastor told me to try to speak in tongues. I couldnt, and i wondered why not.

That question of why i couldn't speak in tongues was never actually answered because i didnt ask out loud, just thought it. With that question came renewed doubt and eventually i stopped going to church. It was then that i began to look for the truth in other religions like wicca and even satanism. I was unfulgilled with any of the religions i searched through. Then i met my girlfriend and i asked many tough questions. Ultimately she answered them all with help from her christian friends and got me believing again. :)

Hey, I like that stuff too! I really need to catch up on the video games, though. My favorite strategy game is Age of Empires II and my favorite RPG is FFVII, or possibly FFII!! (edit: that's 2, not 11) Surely there are newer better games around. I just haven't had the time to run into them.

Wow, you've seen a lot of anime! I thought I had seen a lot but I've only seen about 50% of your list.

Your conversion story is amazing. I'm glad that you could finally come to be with us.

I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?" "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times." It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach. He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

I'd say Starcraft is my favorate video game. I love playing as the evil Zerg and it's fun. I think Starcraft is the only game where the bad guys triumph in the end. Makes it more intresting when the sequal comes out i think. Actually Warcraft 3 had the undead winning in the end of the expansion too didnt it? Still i think Warcraft 3's story is too simalar to starcrafts story. They probably copied it. I cant wait for starcraft 2 to come out. I've always prefered starcraft over warcraft even though warcraft 3 does have superior graphics. Starcraft just has much better playability.

Anyway, ive seen parts of anime series but not the whole series mostly. I've seen a few full series and some of those animes on my list are movies or OVAs so ive seen all of it. :) I want to see the slayers TV series. As it stands I've only seen the movies. Specifically Slayers return, great and gorgeous.

I owe it all to my girlfriend and her friends really. I certainly didnt make it easy for her to convert me in the end, but she's stubborn and didnt give up. :)
Ack, kilograms! Does not compute, Does not compute! *brain melts*
Oh no. His brain has melted!! What shall i do? What shall i do? *Runs around in confusion*

I'm 11 - 12 stone i believe. Not sure what that is in pounds though.
Not that you would want to purchase gas in the UK anyway. Ouch! That stuff is expensive over there]

Yeah the cars in the big old US are much well bigger than the small ones we have over here. In fact i think everythings bigger over there. Even the houses arent as expensicve if im right. I want to move to the US someday. Seems like a great place to live.

I guess you dont have any wild and wonderful questions for me, huh? Okay then. See ya around.

Starcraft is cool. I didn't mention it but I actually play Starcraft with my friends pretty often. It's what we usually play when we do online games because it's about the only game that we all have.

Hmmm.... 'wild and wonderful' huh? Let's see what I can come up with...

Do you think hobbits are cool?

Would you like to be a hobbit?

Would you like to know why I keep asking all these hobbit questions?

....Simply because that's all I can think of at the moment. Lol.

Do you believe in fairies? (Be aware of the fact that if you say no, a fairy somewhere will die. Least that's what it said in Peter Pan. lol)

Dunno if those are 'wild and wonderful' enough for you, but I'll keep thinking, I'll come up with something. Lol.

Lol, lemme try and think of some good questions. Hmmm... all right, I got a few for ya. ^_^

Do you like walking in the rain or jumping in puddles?
Do you make wishes on shooting stars?
If you could be any anime character, who would you be?
Do you doodle a lot?
Are you afraid of heights?
Do you lose things a lot?
Would you rather sing or dance in public?
If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
Would you change your name and if so, what would you change it to?
Would you start a snowball fight or wait for someone else to start it?

Well, that's good 'nough for now. :)

Yep yep hobbits are totally cool short and cool though i dont like their hairy feet

i dont think id mind too much being a hobbit

Im not sure if i believe in fairies. They could exist. I'd love to meet one.

jumping in puddles can be lots of fun i love torrential rain.

yep yep why not make wishes on stars?

I'd prolly be Quatre. I've alwats wondered what it's like to pilot a gundam.

doodling is so much fun i do it alot

im a bit afraid of heights. I try to act brave but its only a mask

i do seem to lose things quite alot lol sometimes i find them in the most obvious places after searching for them for ages though lol

i guess id rather dance in public. im not good at singing.

i worry way too much sometimes I think id change that really.

my names common but i like it  Titus or something like it would be a good thing to change it to. That name is uncommon.

id love yto start a snowball fight myself. hehe

Well, keep the questions coiming they're fun to answer :thumb:

I found out when i first posted this post that there's a limit to the number of pics you can have in any one post. This includes smileys. I wonder how many pics is the maximum?

Good answers. Now here's a few more for you to think about. ^_^

Which hand do you write with?
Do you prefer watching sunsets or sunrises?
Do you daydream a lot?
How long does it take ya to pick out what you're gonna wear in the morning?
Do you prefer writing or drawing?
Would you rather just listen to music, or do you sing along with it?
What's your favorite anime quote?

Well, I'm not gonna give you all that many this time, don't wanna overwhelm ya.

Well i write with my right hand. and eat cereal with my right hand too :)

I have never actually seen a sunrise i dont think so id have to say sunsets. I'd love to see a sunrise though

i just pick out things fairly randomly really. just what's comfortable so not that long.

i love painting pictures with words. I'm not bad at descriptive writing or am i? You be the judge. ;)

i sometimes do sing along to my favorate songs especially if they're in english

Favorate anime quote huh? I'll have to get back to ya on that but dont worry i will answer it when i think of it. There's so many great quotes :)

Well, got a some more for you. ^_^

What do you do when you're nervous (you know, like bite your nails, tap your foot, stuff like that)?
Are you afraid of the dark?
Do you usually remember your dreams the next morning?
Can you pat your head and rub your stomach at the same time? (it's not as easy as it sounds lol)
Do you prefer writing short stories or poems?
Are you near-sighted or far-sighted?
Can you swim?
What's better - the oreo cookie itself or the filling?
Do you prefer the beach or a pool?
Have ya ever been on a ship before?

Well, have fun. ^_^

I tend to bite my nails when I'm nervous or just idly fold pieces of paper up.

Nah I'm not afraid of the darkk. The only thing to be afraid of in the dark is fear itself. When i was younger i always wondered if there was a monster under my bed though.

Nah i forget my dreams the next morning mot of the time unless i wake up during the dream. I'm too forgetful sometimes.

Rubbing my tummy and patting my head at the same time? That's difficult. i always end up rubbing my head and tummy or something.

i guess i like writing poems more really. It's easier in some ways.

I'm near sighted. There's no way i could drive without my glasses or contacts.

I've been told im like a fish in the water by my mom. I'm not sure im that good, but yes, i can swim :)

I like the filling alot, but the oreo cookie is the best

I prefer a pool. You can't really dive into the ocean. Too dangerous.

Yeah ive been on a ferry going to france before if that's what ya mean. I remember getting sea sick once too. That wasn't a pleasant experience i can tell you. Lol!

Okay I've decided to make a post that lists all of my favorate anime quotes so i can give you a complete answer to your "what is my favorate anime quote?" I'll type them out and perhaps choose one of them. I'll sort them by anime series. They're all quotes i like because they're true or they show what the character is like. :) I'll put my favorate one from each series in bold i think. and note my reasons after the quotes themselves.

I'm a little surprised at how many little things I've missed in my bio, but i love answering these. :thumb:

My Favorate Anime Quotes

Postby Kura Ookami » Sat Feb 19, 2005 4:23 am

My Favorate Anime Quotes

Gundam Wing

"Wars bring sorrow... but we must fight to keep our love ones away from that sorrow." Quatre

"There is nothing more valuable than life in this Universe... Trowa taught me that." Quatre

"If you're joking thats cruel, but if you're being sarcastic that's even worse." Duo

Kiddy Grade

"A lady should be more elegant" Lumiere

"I always thought that the purpose of the law was to protect people. Not to punish them, you know?" Eclair

"Well, i for one, didnt mind seeing you without your clothes on" Armblest

"People are greedy, therefore they are human. In other words you cannot fight your own nature" Armblest

"Everyone dreams of having eternal youth. The problem is what they do with it once they have it." Armblest

"Broken brooms only make more trash." Eclipse.

Noir

"A wounded beast only sees the pain it feels itself" Mirielle
"I am the true Noir" Chloe, Noir

"If love can kill people, then surely hatred can save them." Altena

There is an old Cicelian proverb. Revenge is the greatest act of forgiveness." Silvanna

Reasons for Liking The Quotes

The gundam Wing ones are generally true and the one Duo says is just funny. :)

Generally speaking i like the quotes either because they're true or because they show what the character saying them is like, sometimes both. I like Altenas quote because it really does show why she does what she does in the anime and provides a greater insight to her.

The bold one that Armblest says i like for a different reason. Because it's true. Humans are greedy therefore they are human. We cannot fight our own natures. Not alone at least. This one also strikes a cord in me as I've tried and failed to fight against my own sinful nature, therefore this one is my favorate.

Okay these are all i could find for now. I'll update this when i find more. This could get intresting as i find more. :)

Oooh, cool quotes. ^_^ Well, I've got some more for ya!

If you start getting bored, what do you do to keep yourself entertained?
Do you trip over your own feet often? Or do you actually know how to walk, unlike me? lol
Do you think more about the past or the future?
Would you ever eat a bug on a dare or for money? (that's just so gross, but I know a few people who would lol)
Have you ever been to an amusement park haunted house or something before?
Do you have good balance?
Would you rather walk up stairs or take an elevator?
Do you move around a lot when ya sleep?
Do you wear your class ring?

Well, have fun with these! ^_^

If i start getting bored i tend to choose an anime to watch and watch it or something like that.

I can walk okay really. It's annoying when you fall flat on your face isnt it?

I think more about the future, whats going to happen in my life. Wondering about the unwritten pages of my life is always fun :)

Ewww That's gross. Nope. i can safely say i wouldnt do that.

Yeah they're not really scary though its fun to laugh at the people who actually get scared

i dont really have good balance. nah. i dont think i can do standard mode on ddr.

walking up stairs is better excercise :) only lazy people like to use elevators.

i dont think so. Maybe i do but if so i always seem to end up in the same position that i feell to sleep in.

nah. i lost it somewhere.

I love to ask loads of questions often pretty difficult ones, so really I'm a why guy. I mean, why do something you're uncomfortable doing? Especially something like doing drugs. That's just stupid.

Anyway, I've changed my avatar and sig for the time being. I've chosen an eclair avatar. She's my favorate anime character and i like to change my avatar from time to time. :)

My sig now has less quotes than it did before and three pics, all from Kiddy Grade. Two of them show Eclair and Lumiere and the other one shows viola and cesario. Two of the other characters in the show. I've decided to keep my original post the way it is. That way it shows how ive changed my avatar and sig over time. :) Okay i was just told my sig was too long so i deleted one of my pics and some more of the quotes.

Cesario is probably the only anime character that I've seen that never talks. He whispers things to Viola, but as far as i know he doesn't have a voice actor and he isnt a minor character either. He shows up whenever viola does, which isnt exactly uncommon. How many other named characters dont have voice actors? I mean even extras have voice actors sometimes and they're not even named.

"I'm not a huge music person. Most of the music i listen to is either anime songs like the theme tunes of my favorate animes or anime music videos. Therefore it would be difficult to name any bands i like. Generally though i dislike hard rock and rap/hip hop."

Wha-!? You can't be serious?! :waah!: I can't believe you don't like hard rock. ... well that all depends though. Crashing and banging on instruments randomly is not music, unless you call utter chaos music. Not! to say I think rock music is random noise it's just that some people do just crash on instruments and have the nerve to call it music (what an insult to rock and just all music period). Anyway, what are your favorite anime songs?

Sounds like you've explained that topic enough already aule.

I like the theme song for full metal panic and the music in noir, but then most anime music is great. ^_^

*big vein appears on forehead* What anime is disgracing Shakespeare?

And hey, Kura, you're not the only one with the tongues issue. I don't hear myself talk in them, though I guess others can (an old friend thought she heard me chanting one day when my mouth was shut).

Pacman? I like you already. ^_^

Guess you can talk in tongues. That's cool :)

I like the classic game of pacman. Yep yep ^_^ Maybe the secret key to unlock the gates of heaven can be found in that game. I havent found it yet, but ill keep trying. I have found several keys in there after all. ;)

Yeah, he talks. He IS Viola.

Not exactly. I can't say that I don't. But I don't hear it. I don't audibly say the words, but my spirit prays.

Ah. I prefer the new platform versions. I still say he's on Prozac. ^_^
