I live in Florida... we've got Mosquitos, Roaches, and Palmetto bugs....

BTW, know how to tell the difference between a roach and a palmetto?

Turn the light on in a room and a roach runs to hide...

Turn the light on in a room and a palmetto looks at you like "what do you want?"

I guess when you turn on a light, the lady bug says "Why hello there!" and flys to the light.

The Asian Lady Beetle says in clipped english, "What you want? We no deliver, only carry out!".

I am from Florida so I know what you mean

Palmetto bugs are the nastiest things. Especially when they fly at you...*shudder* But it's true. Regular roaches run from you. Palmetto bugs run _at_ you! They don't have them in Virginia. But they make for that with the spider-crickets..evil nasty things!! ICK!!

We have a lot of the Asian Ladybugs. Usually you will find them dug in some apples or so, but that's the only time I see them. We do have a lot of ladybugs here, but they're not asian.

Aren't the asian ones more orange colored than the regular red ladybugs? And don't they only have one or two spots?

Yea, up here in Minnesota, we've had lots of chinese ladybugs swarming around. I think it's because of the unusally warm weather we're having. It wasn't like this last year, but it was also colder last year. Guess the temp. makes a difference. Oh, and to tell the difference between a real ladybug and a chinese ladybug, it's the patterns of spots on their back. Anyway, hope it gets cold and snows soon, so then they'll go away, and I'll get to board!! :-D

I wish, but I kinda doubt it. >.< It's been warmer then usual...80 degrees in October! gah! It really hasn't snowed that much for the past couple years where I live in MN...

I have memories when I was little. The whole side of the house was surrounded by ladybugs, and I had to get in through the door. I was really afraid of them, so I sit out there, wishing they would go away. After a half an hour, I grab the hose, turn it on, spray the side of the house, and run in before the ladybugs come back. =P

*has bug bites all over from those asian beetle things*

Since we've been remodelling the upstairs floor of our house, they've been flying into the open window ports during the times they've been open and I got bitten twice already, and scooped out at least 50+ of them and tossed them back outside.

Bleh... Our Lord only knows why there's so bloody many of them this time of year...
