Quite Possibly The Best Food Ever

Talk about anything in here.

Hee Hee- Yes, I suppose the corn dog is traditionally American treat. It is a hot dog weiner- you know those, I hope? :) - surrounded in batter and fried. The whole thing is stuck on a popsicle-like stick. Very Yummy, especially with mustard.

I'm sorry, but I've tried Vegemite (my dad got some on a business trip to England), and it was one of the worst things I've ever tried. I'm picky sometimes, though, so it may actually be good and I just can't appreciate it. You never know.

Corndog's sound wierd. I don't think we have them in Australia. I'll have to try one... one day.

I think mainly Australian's enjoy Vegemite, I don't know of many foriegners (sp?) who enjoy it. Oh well.

Talking of food treats, how many of you have ever tasted a:

1. Lamington (fluffy cake shaped in a rectangle with chocolate and coconut on the outside)?
2. Pavalova (meringue like cake with egg and crispy icing. Usually had chocolate shards or fruit ontop)?
3. Pasty (pastry with spiced cooked vegetables and a little meat inside)?

All of these are yummy Australian treats! So try them if you get the oppurtunity.

I have several friends from different places in Europe who enjoy Vegemite, and its sister, Marmite (equallly icky in my uninformed opinion). They love to expound on the many wonders of the 'mite sisters, trying to convert me to their ways.

Lets see- I haven't had any of those except Pavalova- I'm a dessert fanatic, so its to be expected. It is very yummy.

All will know the greatness of the corn dog!!

erg. i remember cheese filled hotdogs, and being at a neighbor's bbq and pleading with any adult in hearing range not to make me eat them... i was probably six. and since i just don't like hotdogs all that much anyway... *sigh* i don't really have a favorite food of nasty greasy-fried goodness... but i'm not a health food nut either ^^ gimme a hamburger anytime, though.

i've heard of the pasty - (pronounced like nasty - ?) and would like to try it one day...

now one nasty food from the west that many more people than i care to mention actually enjoy eating is Rocky Mountain Oysters. me, i refuse to eat the things. and if you don't know what they are... you aren't missing much *shudders*

I actually DO know what they are, and as such, I don't care HOW good they taste, I refuse to eat them just on the basis of knowing what they are.

I've actually had chitlins before. *PUKE* Those things are NASTY. I ate them because I had no idea what they were, I tried them and thought they were the most disgusting thing I'd ever eaten. They're deep-fried pig guts, in case you don't know.

I've never heard of these cheese-filled corn dogs, but I think I'll make a trip to the store today. They sound delicious.

On another note, anyone else here had deep-fried twinkies? Those things are delicious beyond words...

We had a section of Cultural Food in my Sociology clas last year and I got to eat caviear, mocklav (a chocolate type thing). However we had to research a list of food and write what they were. Oknomi-yaki and takoyaki was in there. However, the most disgusting food I have seen on there was Balnut.

It's a Phillipino dish where you take a fertizlized chicken or duck egg and bury in deep in the ground. After 3 weeks, you dig it out and thier's a partial chick and duckling and they eat it. gahhh disgusting!!!

The best food ever IMO is Japanese food. 'Nuff said. ^^

Actually I really can't stand most Japanese food. I don't mind asian food, don't get me wrong...but Japanese food seems either too bland or way too salty to me. And don't get me started on tofu *ducks*

Man, Shatterheart, why did you have to go and say that. Now I want to try them, and am going to be looking for them when I go to the store..

Oh, well. They sound really good! I already love corndogs, and cheese. So them together are probably really good! ^___^

I have never ever heard of them though..

Well the stuff I've had at Benihana is excellent, and I love sushi. ^^

I can't say I've ever had actual Japanese food (raw fish isn't really my thing...O.o;; ) but I like Chinese...XD Or at least what passes for it in the local restaurants...mwahaha...

I wish I knew if any store in town carried these corndogs you speak of, though. Mmmm, corndogs.

People who write below their abilities in order to crank out tons of books and make a buck. Especially Christian authors who do that. Outsiders judge us for it, and make fun of us for it, and it makes Jesus look bad. We of all artists on earth should be the most concerned with doing our best possible work at all times. We of all people should write with all our hearts, as if writing for the Lord and not for men.
