Heh...my first avatar was my darling Hotaru-chan, and Sunako kept calling me a girl because of it. ^^;;

I also govern my Avatar choice by the idea that it is a visual representation of who I am. It’s not my interests (as I put that in my sig), it is another way for people to identify what kind of person I am when they read my posts. ^_^

Mine is Ceasar Silverburg. A carefree, and light hearted strategic genius (among other things ;) ).

Depend on it. God's work done in God's way will never lack God's supply. He is too wise a God to frustrate His purposes for lack of funds, and He can just as easily supply them ahead of time as afterwards, and He much prefers doing so.
- J. Hudson Taylor
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?" "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times." It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach. He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

I lean toward having my avatar the same gender as I am. However, I totally understand why someone would choose another gender for their avatar. There is no evil intent and obviously its not the conspiratorial gay world taking over. I mean, really sometimes we overthink things a bit too much.:eyeroll: I'm not saying anyone that has written on this thread thinks that way, I'm just stating a point, well... because I tend to ramble (see UC? ^__^) and rant at times.

I mean, the avatar isn't really you, it's just some character that you like or admire. ;) right?

My Blue avatar represents a character that I liked and that's about the only reason it's there. I can't say I act like a blue wolf... not all that often anyway. *grrrrr* "Whoa, full moon!" *goes off to howl*

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

I make it a point to let people on the internet know when they've made me laugh while eating/drinking. Thanks to t_n_c's statment above, I must now go in search for paper towels to get the iced tea out of my keyboard.

*Laughs* I know you didn't mean for it to be funny, but the fact that it had to be said out loud was what got me.

I was thinking really hard about this and asking myself..why does my avas and siggy's usually have anime girls on them?

To put it simply, my reasoning for it, is to show that anime girls can be portrayed in a non-sexual light but a more ... innocent light I guess. I see alot on secular anime forums how they think this anime girl is hot and sexy and stuff (and the hentai stuff as well) and I contuniuely fought that tpye of thinking and looking at girls in anime that way. So I guess this spawned to go against that thinking, they anime girls aren't sex symbols at all..even if they are drawn to be...much like in the outside anime. Of course, cause I took that stance on the issue I was flammed, attacked, and insullted for viewing girls (both real and anime) as actually people and not possessions

Well, for me I chose Motoko a couple years ago for ANN's forum (same avatar and nickname over there) because I couldn't fit a Puni Puni Poemi avatar in their requirements. Back then, you couldn't upload one, so it had to be whatever I could find on the net. Back then, she was my favorite LH chara, which was my favorite manga at the time.

When I decided to stay with this site, I decided to bring over the same avatar for consistency.

I'm happy enough with it so I don't plan to change. If I did, I'd probably go with Dark Evangel (Evangeline) from Negima, as she's my current favorite chara from my current favorite manga.

I told my best friend about this and he said at least I havn't been mistook for a girl in his face. When he bags groceries, on several occassions he's gotten a "thankyou, ma'am"

He does have a young face for a 19 year old and long hair but I find it kinda funny that he's been called that.

Aww, your poor friend, Hitokiri. I wish I could say I didn't know how he felt. I'm mistaken for a boy (in real life, never here) on a regular basis. The other day the guy at EB called me "sir," and I responded to whatever he was asking. Then he looked up really fast and tripped over himself apologizing for the next couple of minutes. -_- Embarrassing. I think I'll grow my hair longer or wear more skirts.

Noo!!! I love it when young girls have short hair- only the truly pretty can do it. And trust me- skirts can be a pain. I go to a private school where we have to wear them as part of the uniform- it's crazy annoying at times.

That's why I hate skirts so much now. ^^; And careful about the short haired thing - I could have quite the repulsive face behind the Yuffie avatar. Or, in keeping in line with the thread, I could really be a guy and no one would know it. o.O

Oh my!!!!

Now that I think about it, what if everyone on CAA is totally gender confused and everyone is really the opposite of they claim to be......this is starting to confuzzle me. :eyebrow:

Actually, Straylight set up an April Fools Day joke where everyone's gender marker switched for the day. It was very amusing. ^^

The lack of gender mark is definitely part of the confusion. My mind tends to go with the gender of the avatar anyway and with out the gender mark, there's nothing to correct me.

I think another part of the confusion comes from your pseudonym. “Hitokiriâ€

Funny you say that because I mistook the character in your avy as a girl at first (atleast for one whole episode of Peace Maker Kurogane!).

Yeah, right. I have a panty shot of 'her' as well but I really don't want you to change your sexual alignment after seeing it. *shudders at the thought of the panty shot* Image

I'm using a female avy because it looks better than male avy to me. This has nothing to do with my gender Image
