My father may be in trouble.....

Postby Link Antilles » Thu Feb 03, 2005 5:30 am

I honesty am not sure what exactly is going on, but it doesn't sound good... at all. Only about ten minutes ago, my mother recieved a phone call from my father.... she suddenly started crying and screaming, "Hang on - Hang on!" as she dashed to find a coat and keys to the car. I was in bed during this and not long, I jumped up and ran to ask her what was going on. She said he might be in a car wreck or trouble with tears rolling down her eyes. She then got into the car and drove off. For some reason.... I feel at peace, which is really creeping me out and making my hands start to shake as I type this.

EDIT: Everything is fine, see my second post.

I'll be praying for you. Keep us updated, alright?
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

Everything is alright...... here's what happened...

Apparently, my dads cell-phone had accidentally call our house (I'm at a loss how, because the phones don't have speed-dial). When my mom picked up the phone all she could hear was windshield wipers and cars. This made her think he was in a wreck on the highway... when my dad was still innocently driving to work. As my mom searched his drive-to-work route, he was at work talking to a friend. Midways not seeing any sight of a wreck, she called the office at his work to see if he had checked in. They said he had and was there. Yet, when she called his cell-phone, it was busy. When she came home, she passed by a still very confused me and pick up the phone, smiled, and handed it to me. I listened and heard my dad talking to his friend. I looked at her and she said, "I am going to kill him...but in a loving way, of course."

Thank for the prayers, though.
