For my mom

Postby SereneDolphin » Sun Jan 30, 2005 9:02 pm

I'm really scared for my mom. She has pneumonia, and for some odd reason, gets it every couple of years. Unfortunately, it seems a lot worse this year. She can't even walk sometimes! Right now as I type, I hear her coughing like she's coughing up a lung, and I know she can't hardly get to sleep. And our insurance is really crappy, and they won't pay for our prescriptions, which means that we can't afford the prescription for my mom's pneumonia, or mine for my depression.

Another thing. We have had some family trouble, as in everyone can't get along, and no matter what I say, she still doesn't believe that anyone loves her. I know i have trouble getting along with her because my beliefs aren't the same as hers, but I still love her anyway. May God help me find a way to express how I feel, and that she gets my message, and I'm praying for her to get better soon. Please pray for her as well.
I am unique, just like everyone else.

I will pray for you mother and your whole situation.

I also can't afford medical treatments because I have no health insurance. I've needed ear surgery for the lonest time but I have no money to pay for it. So I know how y'all may feel.

Also, sometimes my mom sometimes says or believes I don't love her because I don't have the same religious beliefs as her-- though she knows I care. My mom is the type that "has" to be right no matter what, even if she is wrong. So when I have a different belief it makes it worse-- she flips out and starts to yell because she she "has" to be right... So if I believe something else it's a sign of rebelling in her eyes.

I've found that sometimes parents hate for their kids to have different beliefs; they think they know what is right. Once she said, "you don't love me, if you did you would believe what I believe, even if I was wrong." I mean seriously... Anyways, most of the time parents know we care but it's easier for them to think or believe that way to have the kids pitty them into feeling the same way. Kind of like a defense mechanism to avoid more hurt. I'm not saying it's true in your case, but that's what I've come to understand in my situation.

Just continue to pray and show your mother that you care. I'll also keep you and your mother in my prayers - both the physical and emotional aspects.

I'll gladly pray for you.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

I will pray for your mom right now, and for you, Serene Dolphin. ^__^

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

Thank you so much everyone. Time for an update!

Mom is up and moving around! :thumb: Her cough has subsided for the most part, and she can get some sleep. She still feels a little weak, but I thank God that her suffering for the most part has subsided.

I still haven't reached her. I did a RAK (random act of kindness) and bought her a vanilla shake (her favorite). She seemed to appreciate it, but when I told her that I loved her, she said, "Yeah, right (sarcastically)." I insisted, and then Mom said, "Sure, whatever (again sarcastically)." I hope she'll soon see that I'm being honest and sincere. I understand it takes more than a milkshake, that was just me doing her a favor.

Dad's been arguing with her again, so with that and the fact that she thinks she's unloved, Mom's been very depressed.
I am unique, just like everyone else.

I know what ur going through SereneDolphin. My mother had breast cancer. She got it in 1993 and it returned in 1999. During her 2nd time she had it, She lived for 4 years.. At first she took kemo therapy (I think thats how u spell it) but then she took somthing else. It was amazing that she lived like that. God gave her more time to be with us. And I know that in her last year of her life, she accepted Jesus as her savior. ^_^ I will pray for you and your mother. And that you will all be happy and close. ;)
