Yeah, I'm going to edit the original and never post a list anywhere else in the thread. I was just wondering if replies from others would clog it up. Since the list would still be at the top, do you think it would matter?

(Oh, and you're welcome!)

Yeah - then replies probably wouldn't clog it up to much:

A point to consider, though - is there any way you can get some 'back up' in case you're overworked, sick, unable to get online... etc?

Also, as you put in the thread, if people have problems they can post in here or PM. - so there doesn't seem to be a reason they have to post in the Prayer list thread. Of course, I might have missed it if there is one :)

Take care and God bless

I'm going to try and update daily, if I can. If it gets to be too much, then I'll try every couple of days or maybe 3. I might take a day off from updating on a Saturday or something, but I'll just have to gauge that.

That's great Rogie  Thanks again for taking this up
Also, I think editing the post is a good option. However, it makes things difficult if you are sick and need a back-up. You'll need to have someone you can trust with your password or whatever so they could edit the same post.

How about having someone else with a post below Rogie-san's so that they could update further prayer requests there? Could that make it easier?

I don't mind doing either thing. I think I could trust one of you leaders (Talame, CA, or Syreth) with my password if I'll be away (like for a vacation or something). And of course, I can always change my password afteward (but I doubt that I'll need to -- I think y'all are trustworthy :thumb: ).

I guess we'll just see how that goes when the time comes. I had thought about it, but had never actually mentioned. Thanks for mentioning it, CA.

Now I'll go update the prayer list from where I didn't last night.

Ok, so far we basically take the requests rogie_san puts up in the sticky thread and pray for them. We will be fasting on the 1st of Feb, but remember that fasting isn't limited to food or such.

Some time soon we will probably be implementing a group system where a leader PMs the latest requests to their small group, and takes any suggestions or requests from their members to the other leaders to discuss.

I don't mind doing either thing. I think I could trust one of you leaders (Talame, CA, or Syreth) with my password if I'll be away (like for a vacation or something). And of course, I can always change my password afteward (but I doubt that I'll need to -- I think y'all are trustworthy ).

BWAHAHAHAHA
Lol, just kidding ;) So far its either this plan or CA's plan... and to keep it from being cluttered the back-up can edit/delete their post when rogie_san comes back.

Has anyone considered doing followups with those who made older prayer requests? You know something like "Hey, you posted a prayer request quite a while ago....has it been answered or do you want us to keep praying for it?" Thought it might be important to do followups since new requests always emerge (nothing wrong with that of course) but I'm just concerned that many prayer requests drop quickly to the bottom of the thread and I easily fall into the 'out of sight, out of mind' syndrome.

On an additional note, I must admit I really look forward to the group system. XD XD Bring it on!

That's a good idea. Not only will it make the people feel cared for, but it will also encourage us as we see our prayers being answered :D Is there anyone that is feeling led to take this up?

But*Attempts to copy Rogie-San's hero theme by running faster than a speeding bullet (which is going far over 50 km/h in a residential zone) --- but gets cramp* Yes, there is a dark side to Talame. I, according to her, have a sheep side, and you, Rogie, have a secret identity. ;) . I have yet to find out everyone else's other 'side' - though I'll be looking. :eyebrow:

Back on topic. So the fast for February the first is all well and good?

I'd be happy to help follow up prayer requests. Thinking of the workload, though - I'm guessing there's a lot of older prayer requests - how many follow-upers do you all think would be needed?

I agree with Mave (* Hi Mave! :poke: *) in that I'm really looking forward to groups. Perhaps we could start setting them up, or even discuss the process of doing so?

God bless you, everyone. Have an awesome evening - whatever your timezone.

LOL Hi CA! Yes, I look forward to the group system very much because I'm bracing for the prayer list to expand as we encourage accountability in this forum.

About the followup, I'll be more than happy to take it on since it's been on my mind lately. Indeed, we will not be able to cover every single prayer request done in the history of CAA but we can certainly do our best and let God do the rest. It's most likely that I'll only go back about 3-4 pages. Should I let rogie-san know if any old prayer requests resurface?

That's fine with me, Mave, and I totally agree with doing follow-ups, although I know that no one person can tackle that alone. If you get some new ones, just PM me and I'll add them to the prayer list, pronto. I suppose that you would just PM these people, instead of posting to their old thread, right? *Super Rogie-san can fly, but he's a bit clueless sometimes -- that's my kryptonite*

ANYWAY ( ), great ideas! (And I'm going to have to quit this superhero thing, because I just thought up super names for y'all while I was typing -- Lightspeed CreatureArt, Marvelous Mave, Terrific Talame... :red: )

 Okay, I'm definitely too silly and off-topic at this early point in my day. Quick! Someone get back on-topic for me!!!

Yay! :jump: Good on ya Mave :D Btw, as the group gets larger would you be wanting someone to help you out, cause this would be a pretty big job.

Yup! How bout before that day we get something about fasting and prayer up? or is 4 days too little time....

Yes, I look forward to the group system very much because I'm bracing for the prayer list to expand as we encourage accountability in this forum.

Righty-o. Do you want me to PM everyone and tell them we are implementing the group system and want to know if they are still interested in PG?

And I'm going to have to quit this superhero thing, because I just thought up super names for y'all while I was typing -- Lightspeed CreatureArt, Marvelous Mave, Terrific Talame...

Lol, if you can fly, Rogie, and CA can go the speed of a bullet, then what is Mave's and my superpower? ;)

[quote="Talame"]Lol, if you can fly, Rogie, and CA can go the speed of a bullet, then what is Mave's and my superpower? ]

Okay, I've thought really long and hard about this (i.e. 10 seconds), and you, Talame, have super leadership and intercessory praying power (with some telekinesis for fun). Rock on! And Mave, of course, has super Christian manga-drawing power (with an ultra-powerful oversized manga pencil that shoots beams -- again for fun). Rock on again!

Returning to PG, maybe you can go ahead and post an announcement about the fasting for Feb. 1 (in a separate thread --?). If you make a separate thread, then those who fasted can post what they fasted, a testimony of their fasting experience, etc.

And as for organizing prayer, I guess it would help to do that for PG before the 1st, but that may be too soon. Should we move through the fasting day praying for what we feel led to, including for prayer requests here at CAA, and then after the 1st try to start organizing the prayer groups?

And, lookee there! I ended up staying on topic for once. Rock on yet again!

I can also type at the sppeed of light! With limited typos! <-- although, again, my greatest enemy is cramp. Finger cramp.

Back on topic.

I agree with Rogie about the fasting - posting an announcement would be good, and perhaps testimonies etc. afterwards can be posted as replies to that thread?

Yep, that'd be awesome if you could do the PMs and see who is still interested in PG and the group system.

Fasting... It will be my first fast, and I'm not sure about fasting food. Does one have to have a really good ( a real) reason not to fast food and fast something else?

No, not really. Just fast whatever you feel you should fast... something that would actually make a difference to the everyday norm. For example, if I were to fast TV it wouldnt affect me at all, cause I dont watch that much. The comp, on the other hand, would.

Food is one of the most common things people fast, because when you feel the hunger it reminds you of what you are doing and why. However, if you have a illness or something, then maybe fasting food isn't the best option.

Does that answer your question?

I am not going to be able to keep track of all of the prayer requests on my own. There get to be so many. I suppose I should withdraw my formal membership then.

Being a member of PG doesn't mean you have to pray for every single request that is put up (see the sticky prayer request thread for the list), although some people will feel that they have to do that. Afterall, praying for some is better than praying for none.

However, if you still feel that you shouldn't be a part of PG, that's ok. We respect your decision

EDIT:
Actually, maybe this is another reason why we should implement the group system ASAP... by allocating groups a few requests each, not only will it keep people praying but it will also prevent them from feeling weighed down too much and from condemning themselves for not praying for everyone.

I don't know know what to fast from, because I don't do as well without food for a while and the thing that I would guess to fast from is what has me reading my Bible more regularly.

Yeah, so it turns out I'll be able to get on about once a week. I got down to college safely with a few interesting experiences along the way. Thanks for you prayers everyone, they've surely helped me through some troubling times these plast few days. Could someone post or PM me the thread with all of the requests in it, once it gets done, so that I could keep up with everything that's going on? That would be much appreciated. I've been praying for you guys and will continue to. I'll stay in touch as best I can.

Indeed, it is difficult to pray for every single prayer request. Isn't this why prayer guardians was formed in the first place? ^_^

Do not worry, Joan/Sher, if you cannot cover all prayer requests listed. There's nothing wrong with saying, "Lord, I pray for all unspoken requests. May your Will be done" at the end of your prayer session. Let the Spirit lead you and pray for specific prayer requests you feel led to. The most important thing is that you do the actual deed itself, praying.

Just to give some examples, I have fasted from drawing manga and secular music before. Yeah it was tough. :P But worth the effort. Some friends of mine have fasted from watching TV and some even (I greatly admire this)......from the Internet. 0.o;; Whatever takes up your time and concentration the most, I would regard as the best choice for a fast. These are just some examples, of course, just to help you. Anyway, for myself, food it is.

I'm glad you got down to college all right, Syreth. I hope it goes well for you.

Take care, and God bless, everyone.

I'm not sure if anyone answered your question, but the Prayer List is at this link. :thumb:

And I've still got a while to go before the 1st of Feb. hits here. Boy, this time zone thing is really weird when you're communicating like this, huh? :dizzy:
I think that I'll be fasting from drinking sodas and eating sweets. I don't eat or drink very healthily, so I think a day of wholesome sandwiches and plenty of water will be a good idea. Of course, I may go insane without a fudge brownie!
