The fasting idea sounds great . I'll be willing to participate in it. Is Friday a feasible day? Just wondering.

I'm still waiting to see how everyone is going go about this but thought I'll share what I've been doing all this while.

I try my best to pray for most prayer requests on the first page (^_^;; ) on a daily basis. If the list gets really long, sometimes I split requests into Group A and Group B and pray for each group in alternate days. Having a list helps greatly and I pray in the morning before I go to work.

I also make it a point to respond to threads with lesser responses just so the requestor knows that I read through and am praying for them. I give advice where I feel moved to but rarely write prayers out.

That's all for now. I must admit it isn't easy for me to maintain a consistent prayer schedule but I try my best and it's always good to know you have fellow brothers and sisters in the spiritual battlefield, praying together and encouraging each other.

Hey guys, I just finished checking my UAC thingy, and although I didn't get into the actuarial course I wanted, I have been offered a position to study a Bachelor of Commerce. I was very disappointed to begin with, but after checking out the course a bit more I'm not too upset. There are alot of questions that need to be answered before I accept the offer however, so could you continue to pray for me that I will know what I have to do and have peace about it.

Anyway, enough bout me.

That is a very cool idea Mave, esp since there are so many requests. :thumb: Nice thinking.

:( I must admit that I haven't been praying that much... in fact, I've been praying less than before PG started. I have been feeling so exhausted recently, which is either due to the stuff that has been happening recently (ie uni), or a spiritual attack. Either way, I will try my best to improve :)

My prayer activities (regarding CAA) are very similar to yours, Mave. :thumb:

And, Talame, congrats on getting that other course; I'm sorry you didn't get the one you wanted, but I'm sure God has something in His plans, something in store for you! Hang in there, and I'll keep praying for you!

And, back to PG, I have yet to hear from Gypsy. I think she is one busy lady, though, so... I need some patience, don't I?

I'm sorry that you didn't get into that course, too, Talame. I'm glad the B. Com looks pretty good, though. I wish you all the best for it. I'll continue to keep you in my prayers.

As for fasting - well, the start of next month is coming up soonish - do we want to set a tentative date for the 1st of February to fast?

God bless you all.

Thanks guys
Actually, mum and dad told me yesterday that Actuarial Studies is meant to be one of the hardest courses... very demanding. Commerce, on the other hand, you just had to do well in Maths 2U, so I'll think I'll be fine :P

Anyway, yes I think 1st Feb sounds good. Are we still going to be trying to organise it so that everyone is praying / fasting at the same time, or will we all just fast on our 1st of Feb?

I think just everyone fasting in general on Feb. 1 is a better idea, since it is pretty difficult handling the whole time zone issue.

Hi everyone, I would really like to join if that is okay. I have pretty much been fasting from the T.V. since well...Christmas. I really like praying for people and helping them out.

I do have one prayer request:

- Bakura_fan - She is losing her faith in God and is thinking about moving away from Christianity. Please pray for her.
Two Steps From Hell - Tristan <--(click)

We have been here long enough to know
That we are all brothers and sisters in Christ,
So if you are in need of help,
We shall give you His advice.

May God add his blessings upon you,
That you will live this day and forever,
And when He comes to the earth again,
We will all go together...

Into Heaven for Eternity...

Welcome, Cephas!

Feb the first sounds awesome, regardless of time zone. It's the day before I go back to school for the year, so that's pretty awesome. I agree, Rogie - time zones could even be worked out later if we wanted to, but having a day to fast together is the main thing, right?

I'm glad things are working out well, Talame. All the best.

Bakura_fan will be in my prayers. I'll pray for her ASAP when I get off the comp shortly.

Well, since I have yet to hear anything regarding a separate prayer list thread, I'm going to go ahead and post a prayer list here in the meantime. I put down the 9 most recent prayer request threads. I'll continue to update every now and then. Let me know if there are mistakes!

Bakura_fan: Having trouble with faith and relationship with God.

Pigeon4x: Under stress and having trouble with friends and temptations.

sldr4Christ1985: Friend whose dog died a year ago is currently in a down mood.

Shao Feng-Li: Family is planning to move; doesn't want to leave dojo; asks for prayer in dealing with the move and that they will like New York.

rogie_san: Professor is travelling next week for an interview at another college; prayer for safety, a good interview, and that God's will be done.

bigsleepj: Having trouble with faith and believing in God.

Angel Mitsuki: Worried about forgiveness for past sins. She says that she is doing better since her original post, however.

Godly Paladin: Asks for prayer to resist temptations.

Dot: Teacher's baby died during birth. Dot also asks for prayer for her dad who is suffering depression.

I will pray for all of them as much as I can. I hope they will all follow God's way and to have save passage as well. As soon as I finish this post.

Btw, thanks Rogie_san for posting the list today

I had a prayer request to add- Linwood needs prayer. He has been seeing demons, but lately not as many. He's not totally sure of what to do. There's more to it but i'm not sure how else to summarize it.

Hey everybody! I'm so excited that you guys are dedicated to praying for one another, and I'd like to say that even though I've been AWOL lately (36 hours a week at school before homework will do that to you) that I would love to join PG. February 1st was the day I was going to suggest for the fasting as well. Symbolically, we are reflecting the principle of giving our firstfruits to God by setting aside the first of each month to fast and pray for one another.

Here's a suggestion for how to keep the people of PG updated on prayer requests on a daily basis via PM: Divide PG into groups of 6, with 5 regular members, and 1 leader. The leader will have the responsibility of periodically PMing the 5 members to whom he/she is responsible with updated prayer requests that have taken place on CAA. I won't say what the period is to be, that is for you guys to decide (should you even implement my idea). It could be every day, every 3 days, every week, or what have you. Also, those in each group would be especially open to voicing the requests of the members in their group. Sometimes people will share things with a few people that they would rather not with everyone on CAA. Privacy is important in these kinds of prayers. I would highly recommend NOT making public a prayer request that comes from a group member via PM (if they wanted it public, they would have made a prayer thread for it).

I have an ulterior motive for the use of groups of 6. The PM system only lets you PM 5 others at once before you have to make another PM. In this way, the leader can PM the 5 in his/her group while saving the PM if desired. That way, the workload of PMing every member of PG with updated prayer requests is divided up among a few, hopefully preventing burnout. Also, if you guys feel confident enough in the members of your group to take on responsibility, it might be wise to switch off the PM responsibilities periodically, or, at minimum, sticking at least one reliable member in each group to serve as a backup, in case the group leader goes out of town or something. For the record, I would volunteer to function in such a back-up role if needed.

Just some food for thought guys. Thanks for listening, and pray for me to have the strength I need to endure this semester if you could. God bless you all.

Good ideas, Kevin. Definitely some good 'food for thought' in there.

I hadn't really thought much about the significance of the first day of the month for fasting. Your note that it is symbolically giving the Lord the firstfruits of the month is awesome - very encouraging. :)

The backup idea is also a good one - perhaps other leaders could help back up as well?

There was a prophetic word shared at Church this morning that God is going to release prayer in a big way this year of 2005; that the Church would be called to prayer. I thought that was interesting considering the start of PG this year.

 Nicely put Kevin, esp about the 'first fruits'. It is important to have God as the focus of our lives, and I think that fasting at the beginning of each month is a good way to implement this.
The gmini groups is also a good idea, but may have to wait will we have a few more members. So far we would have 2 groups max ;) but then, it is a way to keep everyone updated and accountable.

Saint Kevin, that is an excellent idea, I like it! It helps us to focus on specific prayer needs and cover every request at the same time. How many members do we already have?

I felt myself called to prayer towards the end of last year. Never estimate the power of prayer, ppl! :thumb:

Just checking, but is there a set system of praying or do we just comb through the prayer forum and pray?

Here is the LINK to that thread, and please try and keep from replying to that thread. Let's just have the prayer list within it that will be updated.

I'm going to try and update daily, if I can. If it gets to be too much, then I'll try every couple of days or maybe 3. I might take a day off from updating on a Saturday or something, but I'll just have to gauge that.

Anyway, we can't lock the thread like I originally planned (so that I could just edit it and keep it from getting clogged), so I'm just going to encourage people to not reply. Do you all think that there would be any good use in encouraging people to reply to it, or do you agree that it could cause it to get clogged?

Suggestions and criticism are welcomed! :thumb:

I agree - I think that replys could clogg it a bit - unless you kept editing your original post so that people could just check back there for the updated list.

Thanks again, Rogie, You rock  . :)
