me and my friends played a 2v2 team 40k take and hold game a couple of days ago, we used 40k in 40 mins rules (no 2+ saves, no 3 attacks or more, no models with total armour 34 +, 400 pts a side) though we made 500 pt armies for this battle. the teams were Dark Angels (Me) and Blood angels vs Orks and Chaos.

our sid lost but not by much (if i'd managed to finish off the chaos guys tactical squad beside the objective: (3 men in it) on the last turn it would have been a draw) we all had hardly anything left except the chaos guy who bought tons of squads with plasma guns. (which were the bane of my 5 man bike squad), oh and the ork guy had a mech that charged into my tac squad with a plasma cannon that i NEVER got to use the entire game and killed em after 3 turns of combat, (my krak grenades didn't do anything to em) he lost most of his army to the blood angels landspeeders. while my heavy bolter in my other tac squad kept the chaos at bay on my side for the game

Rhino Update!

My local hobby shop got Plasti-card in! So I bought a couple of sheets and have been at my Rhino with it :P Here's the results.

I'm sorry the quality isn't that great, it's 5pm here and it's pretty dark now. If requested I'll take a fresh pic during the day with better light.

I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?" "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times." It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach. He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

ok, the battle on friday night was awesome!
i had so much fun, it was myself(tyranids) vs. 2 opposing factions of chaos armies, it seemed to equal out (i finally have over 1000 point army) they were holding this hill with a defiler at the top, i had to destroy it and take the hill(which i did not end up doing)

the thing that stinks is they took out my tyrant and a few of my warriors before they got to the mountain, i really need to take some pictures, i think i need some guard for my tyrant now....

I got the first members of my Tau army/militia/modeling/modding project today. 1 Crisis suit equipped with drone control, a rocket pod and a fusion blaster and 2 gun drones. The suit is in a takeoff position, and I will provide a picture once modding is done (spikey addons probably, pending computer based prototyping. Color scheme will be chaos blacy with *some* sort of highlights (possibly green, maybe a bright orange... again, pending testing on a computer system). I'm also thinking of modding a crisis next or getting an O'Shova so I can attach a bladed weapon to a mech... heheheh. (I know Tau w/ a short range weapon = heresy... don't care, since If I get O'S he's made for em...) Might do a transport also...

Just to let you know, on my Rhino, that white bit on the top is actually a raised floor, so I can put an Ork model on top of it and pretend he's kinda using it as a mobile shooting platform.

They have Space Marine books, a few Imperial Guard books an I think they have some Fantasy ones. Yhere's a mix of different ones, but they seem to focus on the Imperium the most.

Using the good old Vehicle Design rules, I designed a new Dreadnought for my Orks!

Gatling Big Shoota (3xD3 shots), Kannon and Two Dreadnought close combat weapons.
Armour 13,12,10.
standard Ork Stats - Ws 4, Bs 2 etc.
4 Attacks.

Costs 208 points.
Comments?

Yeah, most of the books are Imperial based. I'd highly recommend the "Eisenhorn Trilogy" and "Ravenor" if you like Inquisition based things. "Gaunts Ghosts" books, "For the Emperor," and "Cave of Ice" if you like Imperial Guard. "Grey Knight" and "Uriel Ventrias" books if you like Space Marines. But yeah, most of them (practically all) are Imperial based.

The dreadnought is pretty good, however, it may be a bit of a heavy point sink. I'd recommend dropping one of its shooting weaponry to lessen the points.

It only had two shooting weaponry... Same as the average dreadnought. the VDR seems to make vehicles more expensive. I may drop it's armour down to 12 at the front, will knock 20-30pts off it.

Well, after many months of dormancy I finally got around to taking a few pics of some of my Eldar and Space Wolves units.

Feel free to critique constructively. ^_^

First up, from my Eldar army we have a member of one of my favorite units, my Warp Spiders:

Image

Next up is an older model of a Striking Scorpion. These guys are the back bone of most of my combat assaults.

Image

On to leadership, here is the first Farseer I ever painted, not particularly detailed, but I like how the split face came out. ^_^

Image

My last Eldar picture is of Asurman, this mini isn’t done, but I thought I would put it up anyway.

Image

On to the marines. Here is the only wolf scout that is completely painted, which is too bad, most of the other ones I made have a lot cooler equipment, but maybe if I ever get around to finishing them, I will put their picture up too.

Image

Next is an incomplete Wolfguard Terminator.

Image

And here is my armies faithful Chaplin, Ulrick the Slayer. (also unfinished)

Image

Here is my deadliest HQ, Ragnar Blackmain. This model was actually a friends who got it and painted it just for fun and then gave it to me. I tried to strip off the old paint job, but ended up just painting over most of it in the end. I did, however, leave the original paint job of the Wolf Pelt. A tribute of sorts, I guess…

Image

And last, but not least, is my mighty Venerable Dreadnaught. I have yet to pain the wolf pelt and tassels on him, but he is pretty much done. ;)

Image

Well, that’s all for now, let me know what you guys think, and if you have played any good matches lately.

Later,

Thanks guys. But it takes me FOREVER to paint stuff, thats probably why so much of my armies are still unfinised. But I would rather go slow and just add new stuff as I think of it then rush through it and not be satisfied. I guess I am also fotunate that the people I play with dont get upset if I play with incomplete models (wich I have found some people get all bent up about :shady: ).

Do you guys have any new stuff to show off?
