I have this friend that is almost like a brother to me. He's having a kind of rough time in his life right now, and is dealing with depresion, but to add to his troubles he just got suspended from school.

You see, at the place where he works, he uses a small work knife. He was going to be late to school one day, so he put on his work pants - with the knife still clipped to the pocket. The school resource officer found it and now he's in big trouble. We're just thankful that the knife wasn't 1/2 an inch longer, or he would have been arrested.

The hearing for long-term suspension is today at about 10:00 a.m. He's a pretty strong person, but he has admitted fear, which is a big thing for him. Fortunately, his record is completely clean and his employer and the school administrators have a good view of him, so hopefully everything will be alright. Please, please pray for him, though. This is really difficult.

I will most certainly pray that the Lord opens the people's hearts with mercy and understanding. I will also pray that your friend -- and whoever else is invovled -- will be able to speak with love, eloquence, grace, and humility. I will pray that everything is resolved with no one being suspsended and the past can be left behind. *~_~*

Youch. Yeah, I'm not a big fan of the "zero-tolerance" rule, but at least your friend has a hearing and didn't get automatically suspended like one of my friends.

I see that I'm reading this right after 10:00, but I hope all went well. Please let us know what happened...

Well, the hearing itself seemed to go OK. Everyone involved had a say (his parents, his employer, his teachers, etc.), and he had some very positive things said about him. In the end, his punishment is that he will be suspended for the rest of the semester (but can come back for finals so he doesn't automatically fail). Fortunatelly, there is an alternate school for "bad kids" that he can go to to finish his classes for full credit.

Also, normally for that offense he would get 50 points (the amount you need to get permanemtly suspended), but they reduced it to 45. In other words, if he messes up once, he'll be in big trouble.

Anyway, we're thankful that things weren't much worse. This is still hard on him, but he's doing better. Thank you for your prayers!

Well, Volt, I told him what you said and he decided to do it. Now he's in the county jail.

:lol:Just kidding, he would never do something like that.

Volt wrote:Students are treated like trash, never listened to, and misunderstood, and they expect them to take it. Pathetic administrative fools!

Well, they do have legitamate concerns. If they break the zero-tolerance rule for one person, I know lots of people who wouldn't let that stand. They would accuse them of showing favoritism, etc., and everything would just be a big mess. The administrators really are trying to act with everyone's best interests in mind (even though it does seem unfair)...

I would just like to thank you all again for your prayers. We're still in need, though. He lives way out in the country, and he got his driver's liscence taken away as a punishment too, so he'll have trouble getting to church events. We're trying to make sure that he gets rides so he can still participate.

On a positive note, I found out from his mom that they felt God's love around them as they were in the hearing. They said that they could feel all the prayers that were being offered up around them. I think it really uplifted them. Thank you so much for your prayers!

My friend had a poster on his locker from the school play and recently he found some very nasty things written on it about what happened with the knife. We're pretty sure that it was his ex-girlfriend and friends who did it. He is... rather upset about it. He is very depressed and feels like almost all of his friends are backstabbing him. Please keep praying for him!

Ill definately pray for him. And i can feel that thigns will DEFINATELY work out well. It was just a mistake, it wasn't intentional. That would be HIGHLY unfair, then again the school system is unfair at times too

Kids can be so unkind sometimes. I'm sorry to hear that someone would pick on your friend like this, Anna. I'll keep praying for him. ^__^

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

Well, lets say I thought that things were bad before...

My friend addressed the youth group and called them all false Christians because he "got more support from pagans and atheists" in his time of need than his church family (and sadly, this is true). He feels that God is calling him to bring the church back to Jesus. He says he claims no superiority over others, and has said he is giving up all of his wants because "to put even my basic needs before the church would be selfish." But it doesn't always come across like that.

He has asked me to join him. He is very earnest, and seems to truely believe everything he says - but, some of the things he has said really bother me. They just don't seem right. I am not sure what to do.

That seems like a hard situation to be in. I'll keep you in prayer. I suppose the good thing is that he sees a need in the body and wants to fulfill that somehow. What steps is he taking to bring the church back to Jesus?

He addresses lost of people personally, sort of a "one heart at a time" approach. Other than that, I am really not sure...

He seems to be doing better, praise the Lord! He seems happier and more involved. Just recently, one of the people who had written some of the things on his locker apologized to him. Prayer is still needed though.

Also, I decided not to put this in its own thread, but I could use some prayer too. I am dealing with anger, frustration, confusion, despair, and am identifying in a scary way with people who want to commit suicide. I have NOT AT ALL considered doing it, but sometimes I feel like I understand why some people do.

Another update:

He is doing much better at the moment. He got these really cool shoes (not like normal shoes, but really special ones that you can get up to 20 miles per hour in pretty easily and have a 5 foot verticle - you can read about them at skyrunners.com), and they have cheered him up immensly. Thanks!

Do you ever feel like breaking down?
Do you ever feel out of place?
Like somehow you just don't belong
And no one understands you

Do you ever wanna run away?
Do you lock yourself in your room?
With the radio on turned up so loud
That no one hears you screaming

No you don't know what it's like
When nothing feels alright
You don't know what it's like to be like me

To be hurt
To feel lost
To be left out in the dark
To be kicked
When you're down
To feel like you've been pushed around
To be on the edge of breaking down
And no one's there to save you
No you don't know what it's like

Welcome to my life

Do you wanna be somebody else?
Are you sick of feeling so left out?
Are you desperate to find something more
Before your life is over

Are you stuck inside a world you hate?
Are you sick of everyone around?
With their big fake smiles and stupid lies
While deep inside you're bleeding

No you don't know what it's like
When nothing feels alright
You don't know what it's like to be like me

To be hurt
To feel lost
To be left out in the dark
To be kicked
When you're down
To feel like you've been pushed around
To be on the edge of breaking down
And no one's there to save you
No you don't know what it's like

Welcome to my life

No one ever lied straight to your face
And no one ever stabbed you in the back
You might think I'm happy
But I'm not gonna be ok

Everybody always gave you what you wanted
You never had to work it was always there
You don't know what it's like
What it's like

To be hurt
To feel lost
To be left out in the dark
To be kicked
When you're down
To feel like you've been pushed around
To be on the edge of breaking down
And no one's there to save you
No you don't know what it's like

To be hurt
To feel lost
To be left out in the dark
To be kicked
When you're down
To feel like you've been pushed around
To be on the edge of breaking down
And one's there to save you
No you don't know what it's like

Welcome to my life

Welcome to my life

Welcome to my life

These are the lyrics of a song he sent me. He says that this is exactly how he feels. He also says that he is going to stop coming to church. Please continue to pray!

im praying!!!
dear God, Your Word says in mathew 18:19 'I tell you again that if two of you on eath come together asking for something in agreement, it shall be done by My Father in heaven.' anna mae, the other members who have responded to this thread, and i come together in agreement over this young mans life. we come to You now, believing by faith that You will turn his life around. heal his wounds, Father, let him carry Your love and Your peace with him in everything he does. help him to hear Your voice and wisdom clearly. we pray that You would bring conviction to the hearts of the people who wrote those things on his locker and that they would apologize to him. we ask that You would send him a beakon of hope, or a sign, something for him to remember Your love and Your understanding. we pray that your blessings would rain down on him and he would feel your peace wash over him. i thank You for anna mae. thank you for her concern for her friend, thank You for her big heart. i pray that you would rain down your blessings and peace on her as well, that she would be reworded in the kingdom of heaven. by the Blood of Christ we pray, amen.
if your a guy, im soooo sory. i wasnt sure because your name is anna mae and i wasnt sure if that was a girls name or a pun on 'anime'. so once again im really sory if your a guy! i can edit my post if you are!
