I have two friends named Miles and Justine

Miles is an unbelievably funny guy.The first time I met him he had me in tears from laughing. He's also really cool and smart.

Justine is equally funny and really pretty as well. Both of them are some good friends of mine. Juuuuust one huge issue

They are non-believers. When I heard Justine admit that we wer in my after-scgool class and a boy named Corinthian (yes as In 1 and 2 Corinthian in the bible) just learned his name was in it. And she came out and said "Oh I don't believe in God" I looked at her really shocked as it was the first time I met a non-believer. She then said "My parents are always like oh I'm going to hell because I don't believe and that gays are going to" she then went into how her and her parents always argue about gays "Homosexuality can't be a choice so how can that be a sin??" this made me think back to the section in Romans that talks about homosexuality. From what she tells me about her parents, she was raised in a home where her parents filled her mind with "If you don't believe in God you go to hell" because of this it seems as she rejected that from the way her parents taught her so she doesn't believe

Now for Miles. In science today we had a sub so I was in the back of the room talking with him. He had a book called "Godless" I asked if he was either agnostic or atheist. He then said "I don't believe in Jesus,Buddha or none of that crap" so he then said how it's stupid and retarded to believe in a spirit who "floats" around and whatnot.I said well that is what you believe. Then he said how religous people are what is holding America back. I said that is not rue. He said yes because religious people voted for Bush because he claimed he was a Christian.

How do I reach out to both of them?? you know in a way where they won't feel like I am forcing my beliefs in them?? Help please :( :sniffle:

ah, well. One good thing is that you are already their friend. Second, they all seem to have giant huge misconceptions on Christ. With Justine, What you must do is remove them from those lies and tell the truth "i.e. Jesus loves all, and nothing is impossible with God. Love the sinner but hate the sin. etc" and back it up with bible verses.

ah, Miles, that is a much harder situation. Did he grow up in a Christian home?

I'll be praying for you. Some of the most important things when reaching out to others is that you make sure that you yourself are on the right track with God. This is kind of obvious; why would they believe in something if the person reaching out to them doesn't practice the truths in the message they are preaching? I'm not trying to say that you're not on track with God, I'm just saying that this is something to be considered first off.

Another important thing to do is pray for them fervently. Pray that God would open their eyes and that the Holy Spirit would convict them of their sin and draw them to accept Jesus.

There's more you can do, but these things are very important. Just let your light shine to them and show them the grace of God worked out in your life. I'll be praying that they receive the salvation of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Possibly he said he has been to Church though. Don't know for sure. I'll pray for them. Thanks you two ^_^

Miles and Justine may claim to have logical reasons for their disbelief, but from your story it's obvious that the real reason is pain, pain caused by Christians failing to live in the image of Christ. As their friend you have a unique opportunity to show them that Christ is about light and love and not ignorance and hate. Be a good Christian and a good friend and prepare yourself to answer any questions they might have about what you believe and why you believe it. I have prayed that God use you to erase the lies in their lives.
