This is just embrassing...

Is anyone familiar with Tales of Symphonia well ::looks embrassed:: I just got the game and I can't not get past the stupid freakin end boss for the Fire Seal!! I try every strategy, every move, everything on easy and everyone dies. I tried for 2 hours, a total of 20 tries and failed each time!!

Grrr....this game makes me mad! Should I level up my characters? They are all around 7 or 8.

yeah, i was at a higher level then. And another note, go for the smaller weaker guys. If you have water spells make Genis beable to cast ONLY them. Don't use firespells. If you dont have waterspells use some other. And make raine only heal. Colette can attack, but most melee will come from Lloyd

and dont stop playing this game! Its addictive like crazy!!!!!!

ehh you have to use Colette. I havn't used that strategy befor eyet...use only th ewater-based attacks.

I always die first though and it take sso freakin long to beat the easy guys. grrr...I love the style, and the idea and all the characters...it's a great game. But it's been a week and a half before I finally touched it.

I made it so I control Kratos and leave Reina (sp?) to heal by guys every single time she can while Gensis cats magic (i will have him only use that water attack) while I put Colette in back with L. Range attacks....she is the Chosen after all.

I don't remember what level I beat that at, but if you are having trouble than you should level up all your characters by several levels. That should help out.

You could try controlling Raine and hover around in the background casting healing spells and using items on your allies and leave the fighting to the AI-controlled people if all else fails.

Also, Kratos knows low-level healing spells, so use that to your advantage.

And, yes, make sure Genis doesn't use any fire attacks.

Generally speaking, if it takes you more than 2-4 tries to beat any boss (or at least, most of the main ones), you will probably want to either level up some or re-evaluate your strategy.
Keep trying different things and you'll beat him eventualy.

Haha...I defeated the stupid Balrog dogs. I leveled them all up to 11 and used Gensis's water attack. Everyone save for Collete died and I was gonna use life bottles (which I finally learned how to use effectively) when Collete used a attack and defeated it. I danced, I pranced, I sung with joy .... and I played for a dditional 4 hours. I am currently at the second Human ranch now after killing Kilia. I read that your teammates should be around 19 but I defeated her with just lv 17 Loyd, Colete, Raine, and Kratos.

Collete is actually apretty good character, depending if you use her right. I had a good system going using Loyd, Raine, Kratos, and Collete but once I got Sheena, I took out Kratos and Collete for Sheena and Genis.

I would suggest using Loyd, Genis, Presea, and Rain (during boss battles) or Collete (walking through the levels). I never used Zelos or Kratos because they are almost copies of Loyd. Wait till you get to near the end of the game it gets really really really (and so on) good.

Yeah. I've been playing it...I just beat the Shadow Seal. I also mix up my characters and try to use them. Like I will use Zelo's magic attacks so I can get those up high or use Regal so his attacks are good. Plsu so they get some screen time.

yes. Oh man i HATE the shadow seal. THat level was hard. In the beginning, the game seems like "oh, do this and that, and you save the world" no, Tales of Symphonia has a LOT of twists and turns, and it's a VERY crazy adventure! so awesome

Yes. And considering Lloyd is one of the best characters in the game, wouldn't you want a copy of him?

I just beat Yggdrasil (Methoas) after I saved Collet and that entire Martel thing. That was one oe. f hardest and craziest fights I have fought. At times, it was only me at 300 HP but I'd use a life bottle on Rain so she would heal me and resurect the others. After bout 15 minutes of careful planning, I managed to win with the 4 teammates (me, rain, genis, and sheena) alive with above 1,000 HP. I did a dance.

As of right now, the ToS opening is my fav gam eopening of all time....it even beats Soul Calibur II

I wouldn't say that Kratos/Zelos are copies of Lloyd. Lloyd fights and guards with twin blades and uses very fast slashing and stabbing techniques. Kratos and Zelos are magic swordsman that fight with only one sword and use a combination of offensive techs and healing/offensive magic. Kratos/Zelos have different technique sets than Lloyd does. Just because someone fights with similar weapons does not mean that the characters are copies of each other.
In the tournament part for example, you have to use different strategies to win
as the characters handle differently...

Anyway, it's been awhile since I've played it but I believe that the party that I beat the final boss with was Lloyd, Presea, Zelos, and Raine. I did a majority of the sidequests and stuff. I couldn't ever find all of those dogs for Collete to name or whatever,,,
