Chest Pains

Postby Rogie » Mon Jan 10, 2005 8:39 pm

Here's another prayer request from moi. I've been having some really bad chest pains since Sunday morning. I went to the doctor today (Monday), and he gave me some medicine for gas, acid reflux, muscle spasms, etc. Since I'm describing the pain as if someone is stabbing me in the chest with knives pretty much all of the time, the doctor said that if I'm not better by Thursday, he wants to run some x-rays and do an ultrasound. He said that there's a possibility that it is my gall bladder.

However, he thinks that I will be much better by Thursday with this medicine, showing that it is just a really bad case of acid reflux/indigestion. He didn't really say it, but I know that I've got to start eating better, which includes cutting WAY back on all the fudge brownies I eat (but the Little Debbies are soooo good!).

Anyway, please pray for me, you all. I'll update you later. For now, the medicine is working okay, as my pain is easing off some.

Hopefully it wont be anything too severer. I used to have a really bad case of acid reflux... no fun. I will pray for you.

Love is that feeling you get when a girl looks at you and it feels like your driving a car at high speeds and experience a sudden drop. You know what i mean? That sudden sinking feeling you get in your stomach? Yeah, that's love. Leave's you speechless everytime.

I'll be praying for ya.

The choice has been made. There's no looking back. I won't let up, back up, give up, or shut up. My focus clear. My path is straight. My God, reliable. I'm a disciple of Christ.

Gods plan is like the sun. its too big and bright to look at directly, and sometimes the rain clouds cover it, but sometimes the plan dapples through the clouds and we can see beautiful glimpses of what he has in store for us.

Here's an update. Although the medicine has kept me somewhat "drugged up" and tired, I'm feeling much better, and I'm actually eating some more food (albeit more healthy food). I don't think I'll have much more trouble from this, but an extra prayer or two would certainly help, I'm sure.

Thanks for your prayers, everyone!

He switched me from Protonix to 30 mg of Prevacid solutabs twice a day, plus Hyoscyamine for the intestinal spasms and Metoclopram for the reflux. The last two are temporary and to be taken as needed and are both generic (I think). I think the Prevacid is working pretty well, and it doesn't taste too bad, either.

Here's my final update, just in case anyone is wondering. I'm feeling much better, I actually ate some spaghetti tonight (something that would have made me hurl earlier this week), so thank the Lord that I'm doing better. And thanks for your prayers, everyone.

Now, let's just let this thread float toward the bottom so that others' more important and/or urgent requests will be given their due attention! :thumb:
