(New Requests) Dad's Health and Fasting

Postby Golden_Griff » Sun Jan 09, 2005 4:44 pm

Okay guys, here I am once again.

(Okay, straight to the point...)

I haven't heard much talk on it, but my Dad is supposed to get surgery for an anorism (sp?) sometime soon (late-Jan/early-Feb). I don't know how serious that is, because I'm not even sure WHAT it is. But if you would, lift him up in your prayers for me.

Okay second request:

My roommate and her church are doing a 21 day fast starting TONIGHT at midnight. Well, I decided that I'll try this out with them. We (me and my friends) are looking at it as a great opportunity to get ourselves ready for the new school semester--getting ourselves disciplined with our work and growing stronger and closer to God in our Christian walk.

Well, I agreed to go for at least a week with this, but being someone who has never done a fast of this magnitude, I'm gonna need some strength  I think other people have more faith in me than I have in myself. And considering how hungry I was this morning...whew!

In addition to limiting ourselves to one meal a day (ughh...) we can't have ANY television, which, for me, ultimately means no Gamecube...

However, I'm willing to do this because I feel like it will help me to be closer to God, more reliant on Him, and more eager to study and live by His word. I think that all of this will help me with my school life (studying) as well.

This whole fasting deal is kind of a spur-of-the-moment thing for me so, I have until 12 midnight tonite to prepare myself for this...*starts gulfing down food and playing Gamecube like mad*

I'll pray that God speaks to you in a special way during this time of fasting. May you focus on and delight in Him! You'll definately be blessed and strengthened.

Love is that feeling you get when a girl looks at you and it feels like your driving a car at high speeds and experience a sudden drop. You know what i mean? That sudden sinking feeling you get in your stomach? Yeah, that's love. Leave's you speechless everytime.
