White Noise

Postby Sesshoumaru » Sat Jan 08, 2005 3:18 pm

Saw it with my brother last night.A really good movie. The premise is that a mans wife dies due to unknown and peculiar circumstances.Six months after her death he is contacted by a man who claims his dead wife is contacting him via E.V.P which means Electronic Voice Phenomena:The process thrpugh which the dead through sound and image communicate with the living by the static and "white noise" of modern electronic devices. He soon grows obsessed with E.V.P and trie it himself.Success he hears his wife. But her messages appear to be warnings and for good reason because little does he know but E.V.P has a deadly price:Something evil and deadly invades his life.Overall really good 10/10 for me

I really want to see this...EVP is very interesting. I'm not sure what to think of it.

I wouldn't put a lot of clout on anything where they try to sell you on talking to dead people. *hehe* Anyways, I'd love to rent this when it comes out on DVD, I'm too scared to see it at a theatre. ^^;;

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

Um...O know it's just a movie, but aren't we as Christians not supposed to contact the dead, seeing as it could be the devil and stuff.

Definitely looks kinda creepy, I probably won't be seeing it in theaters though. I tend to be really easily freaked by horror movies, especially the kinds that mess with your mind (rather than grossing you out with gore). Is it just my imagination or have there been alot of horror movies coming lately? All of the trailers on TV have been making me sleep with the light on...:shake:

Guy I work with said it was a crapfest. The ending sucks from what I have read and heard as well. Such a bummer, I had hope for a new Michael Keaton film. As far as truth to EVP. The devil will do many things to draw peoples focus off the Lord. I do get a kick out of this though...I heard somewhere that on the offical EVP site...you can make your own message. That instills a lot of faith in there work I bet...*eyeroll*

Personally, I am going to avoid it like its the plague. In my opinion, I dont think that such things should bewatched. I saw the 6th Sense, and it took me days to get rid of the disgutsting feeling that I had. It only went away once I had repented and asked for forgiveness.
As for EVP being real... I think that it might be another way that demons try to control people.

it's possible. but personally I think it's more likely to be a hoax than anything. these things are easily faked.

nevertheless, my curiosity about this movie is still not going to be satisfied til I see it for myself. even though it's based on EVP, to me it's nothing but a fictional story.

Truly, it was pretty terrible. Lame ending, and not scary at all. There were a couple jumpy moments, but besides that, nothing. Really not worth the money.

The trailer was scarier than this movie. The ending was lame, and there were weird plot holes at the end that totally ruined the creepiness quotient. Definitely a wait-til-it-comes-out-on-HBO kinda thing.

Yeah, I've heard some bad things too.. Like the plot was really weak due to lack up story build up. I mean, the story is about the voices on the recordings, but people say there is too much time spent in listening... like your in the room the whole movie listening to the tapes over and over again. My guess would be Capital "B" boring.

I kind of wanted to see it at first because the trailers made it look good. But I don't know about this one. I think I'll just save my money. Though, both "Hide and Seek"and "Boogyman" look interesting. :P

There seems to be many horror movies coming out. As for White Noise I don't want to see, I love the topic on it but the movie seemss lame (seeing the previous post helped me out on this one).

As for the real white noise- I believe and won't say differently. I was reading in earlier post that people believe that its the work of demons and that is coming from a Bible backround probably not on their own thoughts (its just a guess.... please don't hurt me!). To tell you the truth stuff like that may be demons or the dead it is really unknown because it is not mentioned in the Bible. Just because you don't know it doesn't mean you could throw it off as just demons playing tricks. As for me I would never try it because
1) I still don't know if its undead or demons
2) There are things that you should not get into
3) I would have nothing to say to them.
Moo, I tell ye! MOO!
