My relationship with Christ...

Postby CobaltAngel » Sat Jan 08, 2005 8:34 am

I don't feel like I'm giving God enough of my time. I keep... blowing off praying and devotions at night because I'd rather talk to my friends on IM or something. After I got the CD Mmhmm (great CD btw) the other night, it really got be thinking that I need to just let go some of the things that are important to me so I can let God mold my life, instead of trying to dig my own way to Heaven. If you would please pray for me not to let myself fall back into my old bad habits and to continue to grow in Christ. Pillar was right - "Life is far too long, how can we not go wrong?"

Sure, I'll pray for you.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

I'll be praying for you.

The choice has been made. There's no looking back. I won't let up, back up, give up, or shut up. My focus clear. My path is straight. My God, reliable. I'm a disciple of Christ.

Gods plan is like the sun. its too big and bright to look at directly, and sometimes the rain clouds cover it, but sometimes the plan dapples through the clouds and we can see beautiful glimpses of what he has in store for us.

I'll be praying too matie. Actually, this is a problem that I share as well... I spend time with Him each day, but I am beginning to feel its not nearly enough if I want to keep growing. Could you also pray for me (so I can resist the temptation of chopper challenge ;) )

Hmm...well I've gotten off the schedule quite a bit and yearn to get back to it too. I'll pray for you two, Coby and Talame.

I think all of us could stand to be lifted up in prayer when dealing with this, myself included. Something I've found that helps is developing a routine, something that Mave kind of alluded to. It's different for everyone, though. I'll be praying for us.

I know how you feel CobaltAngel, I have a tendency sometimes on letting things come in the way of what really matters-- God. I think many can relate to your story. So I will pray for you and anyone else who is feeling the same way.
