I have to have surgery

Postby spirit-me-away » Fri Dec 24, 2004 6:05 pm

I have a hole in my ear drum and I have to have it repaired. They will take tissue from my masster muscle on my head, and then they will put it over my hole and hope it repairs it. There is a chance half my face could be parilized or I could lose half my taste buds. But there is always risks with every surgery. there is a chance I won't have to have surgery only that would take a miricle, so I'm praying for that. There is a small chance it could heal on its own and that would be great. :)

So if you don't mind I could use a lot of prayer. :) Thank you

i've had surgery once. i was so scared before...but then it happened. it only took me an hour. it didnt' seem that long to me. it was like, "night night...good morning!" i'm better now. i'm sure everything will go just fine. ^_^d
"The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things... hey... the good things don't always soften the bad things; but vice-versa the bad things don't necessarily spoil the good things and make them unimportant." -11th Doctor

"The advice I like to give young artists, or really anybody who’ll listen to me, is not to wait around for inspiration. Inspiration is for amateurs; the rest of us just show up and get to work. If you wait around for the clouds to part and a bolt of lightning to strike you in the brain, you are not going to make an awful lot of work. All the best ideas come out of the process; they come out of the work itself. Things occur to you. If you’re sitting around trying to dream up a great art idea, you can sit there a long time before anything happens. But if you just get to work, something will occur to you and something else will occur to you and something else that you reject will push you in another direction. Inspiration is absolutely unnecessary and somehow deceptive. You feel like you need this great idea before you can get down to work, and I find that’s almost never the case." - Chuck Close

And I mean, ALWAYS comes out of suffering. That is what I learned, and that is what i hope you keep in mind. God bless ya, and good luck. I also pray to the doctors for wisdom that iot may go sucessfully

I'll be praying too. I went for oral surgery not that long ago. I was nervous, and the surgeon as well as my dentist had discussed possible risks. Thank the Lord I had no serious complications afterwards. You'll be ok. It's in His hands.

mechana2015: Does that answer your question?

K. Ayato: Perfectly.

Wow. I'll be praying for you. I have personally seen God do miraculous medical works in those I know. I'll pray that, if it's his will, he'll do the same for you!
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

I have the same problem. My right ear has had a huge hole for about a year and a half, and to top it off I have no ways of paying for it, I have no health insurance or money. So until I get it repaired I can't go swimming unless I use those ear wax plugs. Tips, never pour peroxide in it, it burns! Sorry for going off topic, I guess the point is that I can relate.

there is a chance I won't have to have surgery only that would take a miricle, so I'm praying for that

THere is a procedure that is done that doesn't require surgery, it'll can be done in the doctors office. If the hole isn't too big, they may be able to sew the membranes back together. I was told it can take about 15mins or less.

None the less, I'll be praying that your surgery will be a success. Plus, if it helps comfort you, these surgeries are a common thing now, usually done as an out patient. Anyways, I will be praying for your surgery and recovery. I have faith that everything will work out. Let us know how it goes.

Wow! I'll pray for you, spirit-me-away. If you dont mind, i could use a little surgical prayer too: I have braces that I cant take off because a certain tooth won't come in which as it turns out is because an extra, small tooth grew next to it so it's being held back by the other tooth! So on thursday I have to go to sleep with an I.V. (I'm not looking forward to it and you probably aren't either) while they cut my gums in different places with a "hot knife" so that the real tooth can come in and the other tooth can be pulled out the side of my mouth with a "gold chain" that I'll have to wear for who-knows-how-long until it comes out through the "window" they will cut. I've never had surgery before and I'm kinda scared :(
I'll pray for you though! It sounds like you're in a more risky situation than me anyhow (though technically my mom has signed a paper that gives them legal permission to rip out all my teeth and give me brain damage, among other things)
