Do you personally know members of a well known band??

Anyone heard of Sanctus Real. They are from my city and my family is good friends with them. I've been listenign them since 6th grade so it's great to see them expand thier fans out of Toledo, Ohio. Intresting note that Matt Hammit's wife, Sarah is the daughter of my moms best friend who goes to our church. So I occassionally the the sancrus guys when they aren't traveling or touring.

I remember going to Ceation Fest this summer and in the crowd, and all of the Toledo kids yelling to play thier old ones from like 5 years ago.

Phase27 and More Than Half are pretty well known here in town, but I'm not sure if that's what you mean.

Well, this sounds a bit ridiculous now that I think about it, but my friend's cousin got married to the former bassist of Seven Places. I guess that's why they got a new bassist was cause he wanted to settle down.

But yeah, that's awesome that you know Sanctus Real. I really appreciate their music and their uncompromising message. It seems there are a lot of "Christian" bands that just want to fit in with everyone else, so they write their lyrics like everyone else does -- like they have God in mind, but they talk about Him or things about Him in such an obscure way that no one gets the message. Anyone know what I mean?

I know a light rock band called Wone and and they sometimes play at our more upbeat church services. They have two cds out and they've just finished recording the third. You've probably never heard of them though. They're very much South Australian. My youngest brother learns electric guitar with the lead singer.

My dad met REO Speedwagon the night they got their first record deal, and he has met Yes. My mom used to know the lead singer of Night Rangers, too.

Yeh, the band Yes is like that. One of the best examples in their songs is "Seen All Good People", if you every heard, you know what I mean.

Uhhh...I know the drummer for the band Polyphonic Spree (its not really something to be proud of.)

I spent a couple days with Don Henley (Lead dude from The Eagles) once, he grew up in Dallas and I met him in a mall when he was here for a concert and we got to talking and hung out for a few days.

I worked with this guy from a local hardcore band called A New Face For Mona. I've hung out with a few local and Denver bands. At a concert I hung out with the bass player from Embdoyment for a half an hour or so before their show. And I'm freinds with one of the guitarists for As I Lay Dying. Nick Hipa. He used to play in Evelyn also. His aunt and uncle go to my church and our really good freinds of our family. So we know his mom...And we hang out when he's having a concert near me. Besides that I know a few people in garage bands...And my dad...I guess i should count him also. They've played on of his songs on the TV before.

Uh...my cousin is in this garage band in Texas, but that doesn't count since I don't even kow what it's called.:heh: I love Sanctus Real. It's so cool that you know them Hitokiri. I have definitely listened to Fight the Tide like 50 times, maybe a hundred.

My cousin in the bass player in a band called 7-10 Split, and I've met the rest fo the band on a few occasions (our house served as an emergency hotel once). Now that I think about it, though, I really have no idea how well known they are, sense the truth is that I almost never listen to them. (not much of a punk/metal fan, really)

I don't personally know him, but Israel, the bass guitarist in Staple, graduated from my school. It may not seem like much, but it is pretty weird because it's a small Christian school in a town no ones ever heard of in Ohio. ^^

Hm.... I met Peter Tork (of The Monkees) and adored him to death. I followed him around backstage and sold merchandise for his current Blues band. Long story, but I know the Shoe Suede Blues as a result of the day being hot and the trailer not having AC. Yay for that, but everyone was in a temper (they were wicked nice, though, so nobody's allowed to talk down about Peter around me! :)). Interesting moments included Peter asking if I minded him telling a dirty joke... And me giving him a LOOK (probably more a deer in the headlights look than anything! :))... And he proceeding to tell blonde jokes instead. :) It was fun. :)

I met Chase, a bassist who opened for the Newsboys. I also kind of spoke to a member of the Newsboys, but it was while getting an autograph for a friend... They're cool, but I never got into them enough to be terribly chatty with a member of the band. Please don't kill me! :)

Hmmmm... John Chiasson, an upright bassist (are all my famous musician friends bassists? Wow... :)) who plays with Natalie MacMaster winked at me and waved from onstage. I know, I know, but I was wicked impressed with his playing, so it blew my mind anyway. :) Same goes for the blond guy in Rockapella. What a wave can do to a fan's beating heart! :)

And Jake Armerding, I guess. I didn't really chat him up, either, but I met him. It was cool, I like his sound (mandolin and fiddle, primarily).

Chris Rice knows OF me. Long story, again, but I have an autograph and photo kind of with me and him together. My ex-boyfriend was a trip, what can I say? :)

Up-and-coming musicians I know include Jean Levasseur, Matt Brown, and Jess Guiney. Watch the charts for them!

Well, I know some pretty big names in Catholic music at least. I don't know that anyone here would know of any of them except possibly Tom Booth. I also know Matt Mahr, Danielle Rose, and Fr. Stan Fortuna. All of them have performed at World Youth Day.

I don't know how famous they are, but I know the members of Dividing the Plunder pretty well. They're a husband and wife duet out of Cincinnati, Ohio and they tour around the East (mostly). They're two of my favorite people and you can find them on the web at http://www.dividingtheplunder.com/

I don't know if I mentioned my Dad...Him and his friend Benny are a local band...They have played one of their songs on TV before. For the firemans memorial back in 2002. They may be hooking up with Harkin (sp?) studios and get national. That's my dad's dream.
