My grandfather died about an hour and a half or so ago...

Postby Destroyer2000 » Fri Dec 10, 2004 10:59 pm

My grandfather died about an hour ago…I was at a friend’s house, but mom came and got me. I can’t say that it was…unexpected. I knew it was coming, and that it wouldn’t be long, but yet, it still hurts. I’m not crying that much…I hurt more for my family. I know that he’s in a better place now, probably dancing and singing down the streets of gold like as Daniel did in that other city. I’m not letting myself cry, because I know that is not what he wants. Normally, I dislike crying, but now that I think about it, it’s no big deal. Jesus cried, and if that is a sign of weakness, then it isn’t a big one. I’m trying to stay calm and focused, and not to get upset about it. I’m hoping that because of this, and because it didn’t shock me that much, I won’t go through the other phases of grief, like all that we studied in Health. I absolutely hate to see my parents or relatives, cry, though…I have only seen my grandmother cry a few times in my entire life. I pretty much left after the funeral home came and got him. I didn’t…want to be there anymore. Pray, not only for me, but for my family.

I'm somewhat glad I wasn't here when they were doing CPR...I'd rather not go through the stress. He had an anurism on his aorta, and they think that it burst...but a good thing is, he's in Heaven now, dancing the streets of gold, and my first instict was to find a Bible when I got home. I just wanted to find some verse, somewhere that would comfort me.

Crying is not a sign of weakness...its a natural good thing to do. It makes you feel a great deal better to "let it all out" Even more so with the loss of a loved one. I cryed for days when my Grandfather died a few years back...I do know what your going through though...and I will be praying for you and your family. But never feel ashamed about crying....

To be honest I have never lost a family member that I've known in my life time; I can't imagine what kind of pain that must bring. Sorry you had to go through that, it must be hard. I will pray for you and the rest of your family. I hope you feel better soon. But like the others have stated, it's not a sign of weakness to cry, let it all out. It's a healthyway to release some of your emtions. I will pray.

I see crying as a sign of stregth. It means you're willing to let your emotions outand not let them build up inside you just because other people may see you as weak. We need to feel each of our emotions even the bad ones to be healthy. Anyway, I will pray for you and for your family. :)

I'm sorry, sweetheart. I know this is going to be hard to deal with, especially at this time of year. We'll all keep you in our prayers, and don't be afraid to cry. Tears can be an unexpected source of comfort. *hugs*

tough stuff.. :(. i know how you feel since my own grandfather died a few weeks ago, and i believe you posted in my thread then. it's never easy to lose anyone, and figuring out how to deal with the emotions involved is sometimes even less easy. while you deal with it the way you do, don't ever be afraid to cry. your family and you will be in my prayers.

I will be praying or both you and your family. I don't view crying as a weakness, I view anger as a weakness but not crying. Sometimes you just need to let those tears out.

I'm so sorry, Destroyer. I'm on the verge of loosing my grandfather, so I know a little of what that feels like. I'll be praying that God will give you the strength to handle the grief. We love you.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

I haven't lost a relative yet that I knew well enough to even get emotional about. I've always stopped myself from crying but even when my dog died I couldn't hold it back. I've learned that crying is a natural healthy thing to do. Sorry for your loss you'll be in my prayers.

:( as everyone else, sorry to hear that. shall say a prayer for all affected. tough times, but good to think he's in a better place. truly the only real sad thing about death(at least in the life of a Christian) is the missing of them. missing people is tough. and yeah..i'm rambling, hope the burden and missing is made easier by God's peace and comfort. God bless.

Sorry I never got to this request, but I am praying for you and your family. It's wonderful to know that he was a Christian and is indeed celebrating eternal life with the saints.
