Lunar/Star Ocean

Have a video game or or VG review? This is the place to to discuss it! We also accept discussions of board games and the like, but SHHH! Don't tell anyone, OK?

My main qualm with Star Ocean 2 was the unforgiving AI in the battles...bleh and the voice acting was absolutely pitiful...bad Square-Enix...bad Square-Enix. I dunno, it was fun while it lasted but I loved the first one more.

And we need a new Lunar game soon (As with Chrono too...ahem).

Official Playsttion Magazine reported a couple times that Gamearts was working on a Lunar 3 game, but nothing else has ever been revealed. Even if they did make a 3rd one it would probably be a zillion years from it's release in Japan to when it would come out here. We all know how SLOOOOOOOOW Working Designs is.

Yup.

Though, I don't necessarily fault them for it. After all, they just want to make sure that they have a very high quality game when it's finally released. Plus, they give you lots of free stuff! Free stuff RULES!

But when they work on a game, man do they work on it. I'm thinking the reason Cattle Call got the rights for Arc the Lad for PS2 instead of WD was because WD has been working so diligently on Growlanser. At least, I HOPE that's the case, because there's no excuse for how Cattle Call treated Arc the Lad.

Anyway, back on topic...

I would love to see another Lunar game...it would be nice. Though Lunar isn't at the top of my list of RPGs, I thoroughly enjoyed it. But I liked the first one better. The boat song RULES!

Though, I have to give Lunar 2 credit...they made it so that Nall didn't sound like he'd been kicked in the crotch a thousand times.

1.) I wouldn't believe anything I read in PSM unless I read it in other places. I remember some notoriously wrong things they printed about FFX-2 back in the day.

2.) This rumor has been around for a long time. Infact, I think it was mentioned shortly after Lunar: EBR's release (may have even been in the book that came with the game, I don't remember). However, the chances that this game is relaeased is slim. And the chance that the actual studio who made Lunar would come out with another anytime soon, is slim as well. There is a supposed "lunar" game in development for either the DS or PSP, but chances are it is not the Lunar we all know and love.

Which is really too bad, because I loved both Lunar games.
