I play DDR too!

Have a video game or or VG review? This is the place to to discuss it! We also accept discussions of board games and the like, but SHHH! Don't tell anyone, OK?

I play DDR too!

Well, technically it's not the one you play on pads. But I was playing similar thing on keyboard, and it was for six years. Now I decided to film myself playing it, so here it is :D

http://lorentztheory.com/avi/LorentzForce_playing_K8107.avi

If you notice it's not arrows, that's because I play it in BM style. Much faster that way, since there can be more bars on the screen than there can be arrows :)

Oh yeah, the video quality is kinda down the hill, because my camera sucks. And no music. But I'm sure you can imagine what kind of a song it is :D

You can enjoy yourself later.. when you're making a lot of money... >: )" At least just my mother is Korean.. >.>;; I don't think I could handle two of them together.. @_@

I say the main reason would be because the parents doesn't want their children to do all the 'hard work' in their lives. In Korea it's harder to get into uni than to get out of it. University is a ticket to a job, kinda, at least braintattooed onto many many parents' heads. So they force their children to keep working, and more work, just so they become a doctor or something, or a lawyer, and never has to do hard work for their lives.

I can tell you, using your brain to work is not always easier than using your physical strength...

There are some parents who do it only for bragging rights too. It's kind of like badly understood 'respect'; "I just raised a world-class doctor, who did you raise".

My parents (both Korean) are kinda different. They want a house alright, but they let me do what I want to do in my career. Even if that'd be playing DDR all day they'd say yes in the end :D

Even without music that was fun to watch. There's an arcade version of Beatmania at the mall here. I've tried to play a few times but I never make it past the first 30 seconds of a song. I would practice more because it is fun but I'm too cheap and broke.
